My husband and I along with another couple stayed for 2 nights in a 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom Ocean View Apartment. The Pros: A clean spacious apartment with lovely views of the ocean and Mt Maunganui Good secure car parking, and a large balcony. The Cons: This apartment is in need of an upgrade in maintenance and decor. The toilet in one of the bathrooms would not flush properly (my husband managed to make a temporary fix himself) and the toilet seat was almost ready to fall off. The towel rail in the same bathroom did fall off the wall. The smaller bedrooms tiny bedside lights had both bulbs blown (management managed to replace these), but a ceiling light was unable to be fixed. The bed in that room was quite small and very uncomfortable. The decor was dated (apart from the dining table and chairs) and old fashioned . The view was lovely, but the outside windows were encrusted with salt spray that looked as though it had been there for weeks, making it difficult to see the water clearly unless you opened the ranch sliders. The hall cupboard door could not be shut properly as someone had wrenched off the door handle and it had not been replaced. I normally would not write a review like this, but I do not feel we got good value for money. We paid $500.00 NZD per night for this apartment and expected a modern classy apartment, not a dated tired one This apartment has so much potential. It would not take much to add a few nice pieces of new furniture and check that all maintenance was up to date and of a good standard to do the wonderful location justice.

Came for one night, stayed for three. Everything was fabulous, management, apartment , views, cleanliness, only fault hideous bed. Bed was hard, small and took the shine off. In fairness we knew it was a queen bed ( if that) but as everything else was awesome we stayed and would come back. Very convenient to restaurants and across the road from the beach. Thanks to the guy managing, he juggled thing so our one night stay could turn into three. Parking easy and secure! Huge bonus.

We had previously stayed and were delighted with the room quality but this weekends stay we were less than impressed. Walls were bashed and unpainted. old tatty rug in lounge and the pillows on the bed smelled like they hadnt been washed forever. For such a high price per night it was really disappointing and the manager really didnt care. We will not stay again im afraid.

When I realized I was paying more then when I stayed at the Park Hyatt in Auckland I thought ok this must be special. I actually never write reviews but do read them so thought I’d share my thoughts on the Pavillions. Must people comment on the views. Hmm it’s the sea… I’ve travelled a lot overseas and so expect in my own country at least friendly and welcome service. it’s overpriced. Beds are ghastly. Is it trying to he a motel or a hotel. For $600.A night and not to have the room cleaned daily is disgusting. Old lamps in cupboards. Very old towels., . Fridge didn’t work property had to throw all our food out. Oven smoked after we’d used it. Look I could have said all this when I left but quite frankly thought it would fall on deaf ears.. my advise find somewhere else. Cleaning staff were friendly.

I have stayed at this place twice this month and have been very impressed with all that it has to offer, warm welcome at the reception, clear instructions on access in and out of the complex, beautiful layout of the rooms I was allocated to, good supply of everything in the bathroom to the kitchen. Very thankful and grateful, an awesome place to relax

We recently enjoyed one night, not long enough, in a one bedroom beachfront on the second floor. The apartment is so spacious, has all the little touches, restful, comfy, clean and very quiet. We sat all afternoon on the deck enjoying all the happy people going past, the ocean and beach life, yet it felt so private being one floor up. Also so close we could just walk to many Restaurants and the Shops nearby. We have stayed before and look forward to staying again, perfect place when staying at the Mount, NZ's Surfer Paradise.

We have stayed here a couple of times and keep coming back as we think it is one of the best views at The Mount. We only stay in the oceanfront rooms as the views are just spectacular. We recently stayed in a 1 bedroom oceanfront and it was just wonderful. Kitchen well equiped, reasonable mini bar, comfortable couches, lovely big bathroom and so much more. Sadly there was only one thing that was terrible and it is probably enough to stop us coming back.... The most terrible bed! It was like a hovercraft. We both hardly slept at all. In my opinion when you are paying top dollar for accomodation having an uncomfortable bed is totally unacceptable! I realise some people don't find this a priority, but we certainly do.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment, worst apartment layout we’ve every stayed in . Main front bedroom has no real privacy as there is only a CURTAIN separating it from the lounge area and the rear bedroom has old shutter type doors that barely closed and you can see through .... Rooms are old /tired and needing an upgrade . Information book and all the signs posted around the apartment are very passive/aggressive . Shower steam that sets of the fire alarm ??.. and we as the guest will get charged for what has to be a faulty system ?. Cleaning staff are friendly and do a good job . Management could take a lead from there attitude as they were unhelpful and disinterested. Good location but not good enough to cover bad experience. Plenty of other options to choose from .

Nice apartment, absolute waterfront near to the beach, hot pools and dining. It's a nice place, rooms well laid out, it's reasonably expensive but what you'd expect from the price point. I do a lot of business travel, it's what you'd expect.

This was our first time and we were looking forward to the visit. We had a sea view, 2 bedroom apartment. We knew it had been recently renovated but were disappointed that nothing would appear to have been done to the apartments. A very spacious apartment but just too dated. Door handle missing of a wardrobe, other wardrobes full of old lamps, blankets and pillows. The wardrobe in second bedroom could not be opened fully to view the full length mirror as bed in the way. Never have we stayed anywhere where there are warnings that you will be charged if alarm goes off because the steam from the bathroom could set it off and also not to leave too much rubbish?. Beds however were clean and comfy. Unfortunately we will not be going back.
