The hotel Montana de fuego is just amazing, Very nice location and very nice staff, We were at montana for 3 nights and we just love it, There are many things to do in la fortuna, so you would need at least 3 nights , The rooms were very nice, big and clean, Nice swimming pool area and great restaurants.
This is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms, overlooking the volcano, although it was in cloud until the morning we left! The pool/thermal springs/bar area is well set out and generally pretty empty! Rocca Grill, the onsite restaurant does a very good, plentiful breakfast and in the evening it turns in to a top class restaurant. A must! We ate there all three nights! Our only criticism is that the standard rooms are very close to a busy road with a large number of heavy vehicles. We had a busy schedule so were up early. Had we not needed to be, we probably would have still been up early!
The hotel location is just perfect for a very nice view to the arenal volcano, We had one of the bungalows, Very nice rooms and very confortable beds, The restaurant was delicious and the service just fine,
My Room: it was nice, air conditioned and included a shaded & protected porch area. Most rooms face the Arenal Volcano. The TV offered a couple of channels in English, but all the others were in Spanish. A small refrigerator was included. I found the bed was too firm, but I flipped over the mattress to a softer pillow-top side which provided comfort with the right amount of cushioning. I wish my bathroom window had a screen, it would have been nice to get fresh air without worrying about mosquitos or other flying insects entering. When lowering the temperature in the shower, the water would become cool even though I barely moved the knob. It took about a minute to restore it back to the warmth that I like. WiFi: it is available in the restaurant, lobby and an open air “chill room”; the latter had a couple computers in which you could surf the web. WiFi is absent from the private rooms. Hotel Restaurant: the free breakfast buffet was very good and filling, and some of the buffet dishes changed from day to day. Yogurt and fresh squeezed / blended juices are available. Omelets made to order are included. The restaurant was cooled with open windows which had NO screens. The view of the volcano and the valley looking towards La Fortuna was breathtaking. The dinner I ordered was tasty but pricey. There was a mini-market across the street plus a couple restaurants one block away as an alternative. Want to eat downtown? That’s about four miles / seven kilometers away. Other Comments: hiking trails going down to the Arenal River lead from the property. Want to go on a local tour of the area? The front desk staff speaks English and can book something right away.…
I took my students to Costa Rica and our group of 20 stayed at this hotel for one night in March 2023. What a terrible experience! We arrived at night and the room that I was assigned was moldy, with a broken toilet handle, the walls needed painting, the ceiling light was crooked and no towels were provided. The taps were rusting. When I called to request a different room, the reception had conveniently closed for the night, so there was nobody onsite to correct this. I was so disgusted I didn't dare shower in the moldy bathroom and checked out as quickly as I could the next morning. Never again!
We got the all inclusive plan for 3 nights and it was the best we could do, Very good restaurant and great service everything went really smooth with montaña de fuego, The rooms were big and clean and the view was just amazing
Everyone is friendly and helpful Great suite on the lake Enjoyed 3 perfect nights excellent breakfast, spa and staff Took care of a minor issue immediately Very helpful and friendly staff Definitely recommend Would stay there again
Tabacon was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The facilities themselves were beautiful. The lobby design is incredible, the rooms are beautiful, and the gym is super nice. But what really made my stay was the staff!!! They were all so awesome. The lobby bartender Jonathan was particularly amazing. He was so kind and attentive. When the bar was closed in the evening he still made me a Piña Colada. Thank you, Jonathan!
We weren't sure what to expect, since our zipline with Go Adventure Park included a day pass. We were delighted how nice it was. There were 3-4 different pools with different depths and temperatures. The largest hot spring had a nice waterfall. We covered ourselves with volcanic mud, too. They had a beautiful chlorine hotel pool with drinks and food service and lots of space. They even had a nature trail on site that looked pretty neat to enjoy a leisure walk and try to spot some creatures ( we didn't have time to explore). Would definitely recommend.
Property itself is nicely laid out, hiking pools, bar and restaurant. Rooms are nice we had a superior room, nice bathroom, comfortable bed fairly small but front and back porch. Wi-Fi only to selected areas and not good Wi-Fi to boot. Breakfast cooked to order omelette pancakes and fresh fruit. Overall recommend and would stay here again.
