We had a wonderful stay here with our two young kids. Our room was spacious and perfect for the four of us. It felt like we were right in the rainforest but with all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We loved exploring the resort grounds and the kids loved riding around in the golf carts. Our favorite area was the Ayla/pool/Henry’s bar area as we found it to be the most updated and modern and loved the beautiful volcano views on sunny days. We also loved how the hotel was fully booked but it never felt busy or crowded, it really added to the feel of being in the rainforest. We really appreciated the staff going out of their way for any requests and to correct any issues. We find that not all luxury hotels are willing to do that and we appreciated that Nayara was proactive on ensuring we had a great stay. We checked out <10 hours ago and already want to return - we're a family of 4 with 2 kids 10 and 9 yo. This resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was immaculate, the service from the concierge to the golf cart drivers to the naturalists to the restaurant service peeps - top notch. We loved the small details like daily fresh local fruit in our rooms and the turn down service that delivers the tiny locally flavored desserts, Amuse-bouche size, every night. I could go on and on for ours about how comfortable the beds and pillows are, the quality of the linens, the dressing room and Balinese shower, of course the plunge pool off the deck was a highlight. We saw a toucan from our room - and waking up and falling asleep to jungle noises....amazing. We walked to dinner and made a fun game of walking up and down the steep hills, it was a hoot. I highly recommend scheduling all excursions thru the resort, everything was seamless + the concierge ensured we were all prepped with correct shoe wear and clothing, etc. Frog Watching Night Walk - Our tour guide is a Naturalist from Nayara and he was so knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We saw dozens of Red eye tree frogs, glass frogs and so many other creatures. Sloth Watching Tour - might have been my highlight, we saw at least 7 sloths (both 2 and 3 toed) while we drove all around Fortuna for 2 hours ;) We even saw 2 babies. Melanie was so informative and educational. Even our snack at the end was lovely! Ziplining - This was great and very exciting. Flying thru the air at 40 mph! River Rafting - This was our family fav. The guides were so helpful and careful. They made sure our family had a ton of fun and were very safe. Every picture of us (they take pics from the front kayak AND it's only $30 at the end) we all had the biggest smiles + a few looks of fear. If you go to Arenal - this is the place to stay. Nayara tented camp does a great job of combining luxury while giving you an authentic Arenal experience. The private hot springs pools are the best. Nothing hurts me. The food at all their restaurants is excellent and does not taste like hotel food at all. Each restaurant gives you a different experience and they all have authentic Costa Rican dishes on the menu if that is what you wan. (my boyfriend did) the staff is always friendly, helpful and welcoming. The spa is relaxing and the yoga is great. Your room is always "magically clean". The tour guides are excellent and knowledgeable. I want to see the world and I never return to the same hotel as much as I might want to. But I will come back here. there is something very special about this place. Perhaps it is "Pura Vida".

One word: MAGICAL. I read about this resort in a local newspaper and had to add it to my bucket list. Right from the beginning we were treated promptly and with warmth. Our tent was beyond anything we could imagine and it was difficult to leave to enjoy the rest of the resort! All staff were friendly and anticipated what we needed before we asked. We got to see sloths, frogs, wild pigs, and many different species of birds right from our porch. Our view of the Arenal volcano was spectacular. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to see the magic of the rain forest and be pampered.

Do yourself a favor and book a stay at Nayara Tented Camp. It is impossible to imagine a better hotel experience in a more beautiful location with better food or better service. Everything about the hotel is meticulously crafted. The tents will most likely be the nicest hotel rooms you ever stay in and the hotel staff are some of the nicest people you will ever come across. The food is up there with any of the best restaurants in any major U.S. city at about half the cost. Nayara has won my wife and I over and we will soon be back to any of their locations. Be sure to research the seasonal weather in La Fortuna before you visit so you know what you are getting into, rain or shine. EXCEPTIONAL!!!! If you are considering any hotel in Costa Rica, this is the one!! We have stayed in top tier luxury hotels all over the world across europe, indian ocean, middle east and asia pacific and this is one of the stand out hotel stays of my life - 5 star hospitality at its finest. Nothing is too much trouble, the setting cannot be beaten and the tents are better than a luxury hotel. We stayed with a baby and a toddler and didn't find the hotel to br inappropriate in any way for children- they were accommodating and our toddler loved the hot springs and exploring the property. Sloths were a highlight, as was the pool bar where we felt comfortable swimming with the kids. One thing to mention was we had to change rooms due to a very strong chemical smell in our original tent (apparently its the varnish used by the supplier). It was so overpowering it made me feel physically sick but the hotel were extremely apologetic and moved us immediately. We had absolutely no other issues- absolutely loved our stay! …

My husband, 6 year old son and myself stayed for five days. The location is perfect for tons of day trips! (Volcano hike, waterfall hike, river raft tour, sloth tour). The property itself is amazing and you can spend hours exploring and spotting tons of birds, frogs and sloths! The food is great and there are many restaurants to chose from. The room is the best I have ever experienced!

Just returned from a week at Nayara. We stayed in a "family tent." The accommodations were extraordinary. The service - the same. The whole resort (which includes the Gardens and the Springs) is exceptionally beautiful and extremely private. We often wondered where all the people were as the resort was full. We saw people only at meals and a few at the pools. The 6 restaurants and food were all great. The staff is very guest oriented. They almost always greet you by name even just to drive you in a cart. The staff to guest ration is very high. Pros- private, beautiful, delicious, accommodating, clean. We loved private "in-tent" dining on our deck in the rain forest. Breakfast was included and truly wonderful. Restaurant breakfasts were also very good. We took several tours offered through Nayara (Frog Walk, Waterfall hike, Hanging Bridges, Coffee and Chocolate) all of which were great.) Wonderful wildlife viewing (Frogs, snakes, sloths, iguanas, birds, coatis, caiman, monkeys..). As for service - they go the extra mile. As an example, a bartender overheard our daughter and her fiancé talking to other newlywed couples honeymooning there about their recent engagement. That night, champagne, rose petals and a congratulations sign (in Spanish) was delivered to all three couples' rooms! Spa is beautiful and fitness center quite nice. Free laundry is a great extra. Stocked fridge with included non-alcoholic drinks and snacks was included with our room. The whole property is immaculately maintained. Cons - very hilly but they provide golf cart service to transport guests around the property which we needed frequently. Only had to wait more than 5-10 minutes on one occasion. While the thermal springs are beautiful, private and lovely, several of them are so thermal (hot), you can't even get into them. However, others are warm and one is even cool so no worries there. Not really a con but the weather is very unpredictable. The temperature for us was low-mid-80s. It was mostly cloudy. We did have at least some rain most days. I loved walking around and sitting on our deck listening to it. Only one full day of rain. Rain interfered with absolutely nothing. We plunged in our plunge pool in the rain ! TIP: Take ponchos/rain gear although the resort has ample umbrellas stationed everywhere, and disposable ponchos for the tours. Highly recommend this resort for a splurge vacation. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. …
