Stayed here for a working break with my wife & she loved it. She's always wanted to visit the broads. I was working reasonable close so it was ideal. The room was very clean and the whole place was full of countryside character. Wood burners & fireplaces. The staff were so friendly & the food was home cooked. No doubt she will be booking our return soon.

After a booking for another hotel fell through, we were extremely lucky to get 3 rooms for 6 people here. The staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast was superb and dinner had some good variety. Of our three rooms, two were lovely - recently decorated, units to put away clothes and good bathrooms, however our room wasn’t done quite as nicely, seemingly needing a makeover, particularly in the dated bathroom, and some more storage. The location was good, being half an hour drive from Norwich or Great Yarmouth and right on The Broads. With the current situation, we all felt very safe there - masks on around the hotel, masks worn by staff and distancing, as well as room service being suspended. Thank you very much to Amber who made sure we were all looked after and made us feel super welcome.

Visited here for lunch today & had a great visit. Lovely warm welcome when we arrived which was assuring as we didn't know what to expect with the new guidelines. We sat outside & were well looked after with full table service. Typical pub menu here, reasonably priced and good selection. Very virus secure here, all staff in masks, codes for test & track, customers wearing masks too. Even with all the new rules we felt very at home This is a great example of a pub adapting well under difficult circumstances. Cheers for a nice lunch Sutton staith

Due to sad circumstances I had to cancel my original booking in August, a Thelma and Louise trip with a girlfriend! However Kirsty couldn’t have been more understanding and helpful, returning my deposit. Then my husband, Ian and I together with our Golden Retriever Molly, decided to take a chance and book for the end of September. Once again Kirsty accommodated us in a large room near the back stairs and waived the deposit. We arrived and were warmly greeted by Amber, followed the Covid signs and settled on a table for two near the games room! Lovely chat with Kirsty, a walk for Molly and down for a drink before dinner. Now this is where I seem to differ from other Reviewers because unfortunately for us, the choice of menu was poor, there appeared to be no locally sourced fish dishes, the pie (which I had) was to me shop bought with no meat just gravy, although Ian enjoyed his chicken korma but really I think he would have liked a steak! Molly certainly enjoyed her sausage though! I didn’t see a specials board and we were not offered the blondies or brownies. I hate saying this as the staff couldn’t have been kinder but I think the menu needs a huge re think with home cooked traditional fare, such as salmon, lasagne, stroganoff, liver and bacon, steaks, chicken breast wrapped in bacon etc. I’m sure you get my drift. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay but the breakfast and especially the white toast and coffee were excellent! We would love to return as we were given such a warm welcome by staff, guests and locals but not until the choice of food has improved. Just our opinion.

My husband and I visited for dinner last night on our last night of holiday. From the outset I felt the Covid precautions were in adequate- we were directed to a busy bar with lots of people standing in close proximity to check in. We were then shown to our table which was in a strange room but was socially distant. None of the staff wore masks or visors. The food was fine - classic pub grub and generous portions but again when we asked for our bill we were directed to the very busy bar with even more people standing, rather than the machine being brought to us. I didn’t feel safe and hope the hotel takes note.
