as most review, this is purely my personal opinion.

staff were very friendly and very nice. my family booked the place for a few days while i booked mine only for 1 night...in the end i stayed the same days by re-booking every day. can't remember his name but the front desk guy was very pleasant and was very accommodating. this is true for everyone working there from the guard at the gate, grounds keepers, room and restaurant staff.

this has gotta to be one of the best view within taal lake. its very close to tagatay so can't complain.

now lets talk about the rooms. we stayed at the mabini building, 4th floor, and there's a few issues. yes, the wifi most of the time was not working. on our first day, it was offline. the water pressure was horrible the whole time. you have to time your shower otherwise you will see droplets of water. tv/cable like wifi was none existence. all of these i mentioned would be bad luck if i'm talking about 1 room. sad to say it happened to not 1, not 2, but all 3 rooms that we booked.

we managed to survive even with the room issues.

would i go back or recommend it, for the view and staff, I may. i am telling myself that these issues might be due to lack of staff due to covid and they are just starting to comeback.

i hope this is the case.

The beach resort is ideal for travelers of all ages. The beach is clean and well-maintained. The staff are approachable and helpful too. There are a lot of activities to do where kids, teens, and adults can enjoy. But what I enjoy the most are the view and the food. The Taal lake and volcano seems to be near the coast. We also got to eat grilled fresh tawilis and tilapia. Overall, it was a great experience.

Good : Nice view of the lake, great to swim in their warm pool, good internet connection
Bad : No elevator - have to carry heavy luggage ourselves to our room at the third floor
Have to call reception each time for someone to clean the room and provide clean towels, etc.
TV lost signal after two days - technician who came to check says it always happens when there is rain. But the next day, there was no rain and we never got TV reception back

Enjoyed the many pools they have and the provincial vibe. They have very nice rooms and helpful staff. We enjoyed walking around their area. It's a seriously nice place. We got to trek to taal. Just a boat ride away.

Good set of amenities. We enjoyed our overnight stay in Club Balai Isabel. We were not able to check other facilities when we stayed but will definitely go back. Will recommend the place to my friends and family. Can't wait to visit again and try the swimming pool.

2 of the villas we rented were runsacked, causing us to lose millions worth of things (and memories).

We checked in at Club Balai, the place where the reception of the wedding we'll be attending will be held. We rented 2 villas, located at different areas. ALL of us left the resort at around 2pm as the wedding was scheduled at 3pm (it was 30-45 minutes away). We came back to Club Balai at around 5pm, The front door was locked and as we were waiting for the person who was holding the key, we realized that the backdoor was already opened. (We checked all doors before we left and made sure they were locked) Almost 95% of the things we left behind were robbed (money, gadgets, IDs, wallets, etc.). We left these as we couldn't bring all of them to the church and the reception would be at Club Balai anyway. Worse thing, the other villa we rented also got robbed. In total, we lost millions of pesos worth. Is it coincidence that we were robbed during the time that we were at the wedding? Obviously, the thieves knew that we will be gone during that time and won't be back until later. It was also weird that they knew the units of the bride and groom respectively (it wasn't side by side or across, FYI). Most of the guests came from abroad as the couple is based in the US.

They were able to check each and every room (1st floor to the attic) and all the luggage and bags we left on the floor closed or cabinet were found on the bed, opened.

We notified the staff as soon as possible and initially, they said the CCTVs around the area were FULLY FUNCTIONAL but later on admitted that the CCTVs in our area were broken since typhoon Glenda. Also, a same case of theft happened just last December 2015!! 2 months ago!! but the case was not pursued since the people involved were from the UK!!

We chose to hold our event in Club Balai as we knew it was private, SECURED and well known. How come they let this happen even after so many incidences? Our villa was even near the guard house and reception area!!!

What a very disappointing and embarrassing experience. I feel bad for the bride and groom who will always remember this horrible experience on the day that was supposed to be the best and most memorable for them.

I should have followed my guts! When I was having a hard time contacting the resort before, I should have not pushed through with the reservation. Awful customer service. I gave the benefit of the doubt even after reading the reviews here at Tripadvisor. No one bothered to answer the phone and when finally I was able to speak to someone, they kept referring me to a person who was too just lazy to call me back in time, she made an excuse "We have an event po kasi". Are you serious? Meaning the whole management team was focused to that event that no one bothered to entertain the other guests? I had to beg this person to send me an acknowledgement email when I paid my reservation. We stayed at the Astudillo Villa, It was very decent and homey, I just wished that it was well maintained. It was a spacious and pretty Villa but not that clean ... there were spiderwebs :( The bed sheets and towels were clean though. The toilets on the 2nd floor were not that clean and doors were terribly looking. Staff were very courteous, they greet you whenever they see you. The people at the restaurant has major problems, they do not even go and asked us if we were ready to order, they were nowhere to be found. I expected so much from this resort because it is quite expensive. Whoever owns this resort must fire the people who takes in the reservations and bookings. Very unprofessional and not responsive. Again, I should have followed my guts. I do not recommend this resort to anyone. Disappointed and Frustrated!

not advisable to go back.. poor service and dirty room. I request to move to another room which is malvar bldg and yet they insist that it was reserved but the whole day as I observed no one occupied the room. Though it has available room which they can transfer us they don't serve us well.

This vacation should be a sweet vacation but it turns to unforgettable, disappointing getaway! ;(

I had my wedding reception in this place on March 7, 2015 and our experience were terrible. I had all the bad news coming from my guests after our honeymoon which were so nice of them not to stress me on my wedding day.

Before the event, almost everything sails smoothly with their coordinator, Monica and caterer, Michelle. But on the same day these happened:
1. A week before the event, my wedding coordinator was asking for the venue set-up layout up to the hours before the event, but they failed to provide so. As per discussed on our meeting with almost all of my suppliers, they must provide 2 tables for VIP and 10 tables for guests but on the same day, they reduced it to 9. That made almost 10 of my guests waited for more than an hour to find seats for them which was my wedding coordinator team was able to resolved.
2. More than 40 guests claimed that they were not able to eat cocktail food because there's nothing left for them. Monica said that I had 17 extra guests aside from what I have paid, ok, but you claimed you have 10% buffer, 10 more people must be able to be accommodated for the food and only 7 pax supposedly not, how come more than 40 people were not able to eat?
3. Chocolate fountain was hidden to the kids because they're getting desserts on cocktail hour, during dinner time it was not on the table, my mom asked where was it, the head waiter said "pumutok po". Really?
4. On the 7th table, my guests claimed there are no desserts anymore! Only 60+ or 70+ people were able to have desserts? One of my guests said: Fitz Gerald De Guzman "Hndi nga kami nakapag dessert at cocktail. Walang laman. Pero anyways. Buti di na rin namin napansin. Masaya naman. Kaso yun lang. Lugi kung iisipin."
5. One of my guests asked for coffee and the waiter said there's no more left. Ridiculous!
6. One whole lechon was left and not mentioned to me so I can ask the waiters to chop it and give it to the guests.
7. Before the programs starts, I'm having my make-up retouch in the room and the aircondition was not working well so we asked for assistance, more than 40 mins, no one from their staff came.
8. I had to bring home the cake, the waiter said there's no box for it. What?
9. My guests who stayed overnight claimed they were not satisfied because all of their requests were rejected for the room service. We paid 4 rooms for some of our guests and that was how Club Balai Isabel staff treated them!

I will never get tired of telling everyone how Club Balai Isabel humiliated me and my husband during our wedding day! I paid 160k over pesos for the event and this is what Club Balai Isabel gave us!
