This was my second visit to Coral Beach Club. Jessica in the sales department took care of my reservations and welcomed me upon my arrival. I was put in the Sea View room, which was just fantastic. The staff at the resort are very nice and accommodating. The food is delicious and fairly priced with generous portions. Each evening I looked forward to watching a glorious sunset. Jessica arranged for my transportation back to Manila with a very competent driver. This is just a very well-run resort that is a pleasure to visit to get some rest and relaxation.
Visited Coral Beach Club to play golf at the nearby Calatagan Golf Course (Robert Trent Jones designed) just turn up to play no booking required. Stayed in the excellent Coral Beach apartments across the road, but had our meals in the Coral Beach restaurant, excellent food and excellent service. A very clean well organised establishment in an area where you might not expect such a place to exist. Really excellent and affordable.
I stayed in a nice roomy beachfront apartment called 'Oceana' which is up one flight of stairs. It has à lovely verandah to view the beach and sunsets. Good air conditioning unit with remote. Unfortunately on one day the clean towels left in my room were full of large holes that I would only use as rags. The hotel was not busy so I'm not sure why there would have been a shortage of decent towels. There was also an influx of ants in the room that went into my bed sheets and under my pillow. I used an ant chalk around the doors, windows, bedlegs etc and a spray which helped. Maybe the hotel needs to be insect sprayed. My father stayed in the room below called 'Seaview'. Although similarly nice and roomy it had a sewerage smell from the shower drain. You couldn't relax on the front deck as the beach vendors would keep trying to sell to you. So I wouldn't recommend this room. The first night (a Wednesday) was very noisy with alot of drinking and shenanigans going on in the bar/pool table area below until the early hours and some very vocal lovers in the room beside mine. It was all quite unnerving being the first night in a new place. On the weekend families arrived and it had a much nicer atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was very good, better than I anticipated. Also a great wine and cocktail range. Staff were friendly but need to be more attentive to diners eg.bringing menus promptly, offering to take orders when customer looks ready, offering more drinks, offering water, letting you know when happy hour will be finishing etc. Although I didnt swim, the pool looked clean for swimming. I personally do not think the beach is suitable for sunbathing due to all the vendors. There are balsa's parked along the front in the water. The water has rubbish in it so swimming would be better a bit further out past the lagoon or further along the beach where no balsa's are moored.…
I travel in the Philippines frequently, and always try to fit in a bit of Coral beach time. Really nice rooms, great food, expecially for the provinces, excellent bar with good red wine choices (rare in Asia). The staff are always friendly and accomodating. Clearly the management here are running a really good show. Keep up the great work Coral Beach Club Crew:)
Wish the boatmen would pick up trash from the beach during slack time instead of just watching the guests. Hope they would offer buffet breakfast as well, though i love their hot choco so much. Bring your own toothbrush/toothpaste also coz its not included in their free toiletries. But you can buy it outside from nearby sari-sari stores with free concert from drunkards.
