The rooms were clean and had a pleasant fragnance. The staff, along with Ms. Judy Ann, the bangkeros and the manager were incredibly accommodating and provided outstanding service. Although the beach had its challenges, with an abundance of seaweed and starfish, and the tide being low, these aspects didn't overshadow the positive aspects of the stay. The sea activities offered, such as the banana boat ride, boat ride, and snorkeling, were fantastic alternatives to traditional swimming. These activities added a lot of fun and excitement to the overall experience. They also have a strict policy on smoking.

Company Outing Overnight Stay 150 persons Beach - clean, nice sunset and horizon view. Shallow waters. BUT in the afternoon, due to low tide, you will not be able to swim at all. So take advantage of a morning swim. Rooms - just okay. Single manual key per room. You can leave the key at the reception for storing/safekeep. The blanket is like a bed sheet (thin). Spacious and well-ventilated Bathrooms - spacious. Slippery bathroom so be careful. Shower water slow at first and takes time. Staff - courteous and greets you all the time. Anyone can assist you anytime. Pool - I only saw 3 pools. 1) kiddie pool with slide, 2) 4.5 ft pool, 3) 5-6.5 ft pool Outdoor activities - relay games, basketball, beach volleyball, water activities (kayak, banana boat, boat ride) There are cabanas/huts at the beach front. Parking - shaded by trees, spacious. Security - yes. It is not advisable to go out of the resort in the evening. They will give you a gate pass if needed to go out. Travel time - 2-3 hrs from Manila. For kids - kiddie pool, playground, wishing well For company outings, resort is spacious and offers activities. If you coincide with another big group, it will not be crowded. They have pavilions/holding areas per big group, with audio sound/mic and videoke (10pm curfew).

First, the staff. Everyone is so courteous from the moment we arrived up to check-out. The restaurant servers took the effort to provide us an electric fan coz the ceiling fan in our dining area is not properly working. They did this so swiftly. Second, we love the food! A little pricey but worth it. Even the puto bumbong is so delicious. Third, the room we got is deluxe. Overlooking the pool and the beach can be seen in the morning. Comfortable. Brownout for like almost 2 days but the generator kept everything going. Fourth, we love the pool and the beach. I can’t say much about other water activities coz there was a storm at the time. Wifi got a bit wonky inside the room on our third night. Even data was intermittent. But no worries. I can live with that. Overall experience is so, so good!

Currently, it's Typhoon signal number 3 and we are expecting the typhoon to hit the area in the next 12h. I booked via Agoda, the booking was a non-refundable and non-rebookable for today and tomorrow. Because of the weather, I requested if Agoda can rebook the stay due to force majeure. While Agoda was willing, hotel was not. They'd rather we travel in this weather and check-in, or we just forfeit. I don't recommend this hotel and definitely won't be booking anymore in the future. If only I can give zero rate, I would.

The good Staff were great, room was nice, pool was great as were the drinks. The bad What beach.. It was crap sand with seaweed everywhere and had to swim out to get away from seaweed. Food was average and the pasta carbonara I would not feed to a dog so we sent it back. After get there they had that had of pay for all activities even billiards and darts, had to pay for even the beach towels which didn't expect at a resort style hotel. The internet was terrible and kept dropping out. Other hotels are far better.

Love the spacious room. Pretty old though, also for the AC and TV. We had over 150 sqm room for Php10k overnight. There were three swimming pools, one deep pool, one average, one for kids with a mini slide. Lots of areas to explore: life-size chess, swings, etc. The foods were great and reasonable prices. The beach have starfishes and schools of fish, need some clean-up though. You can rent a boat for snorkelling, P100 for gears and P1,000 for the boat. Other activities are available too! They have clear kayak, banana boat, etc.

Worth the long trip “We book for 3 nights in water villa and 2 nights on a Pool view villa. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a nice place in Matabungkay (as I always had a prejudice against the place, though it was my first time there). Though I had a pleasant stay, I’ll still give my positives and negatives views. On the Positive side: The property has 3 pools and seashore beach. I didn't swim, but the pools looked clean and the whole environment was inviting. My whole family enjoyed it. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. All the staff were very nice and friendly so you’ll feel at home. The grounds were spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people without feeling cramped. Beach area was clean and the water was warm because it was shallow-- it was up to my knee approximately 15 meters from the shore.” The Negative side: My complain only is about the WiFi. The signal is not that strong and intermittent and totally no wifi signal in the water villa. Hope they could find a way to fix this issue because this is one of the important things to look for on a hotel. Overall: Matabungkay Beach Hotel comes highly recommended. If anyone from the staff is reading this, thank you so very much.

We stayed here with for 2 days 1 night and we enjoyed the place as this is our first "beach staycation" together. I was not able to take a picture of our room but we stayed in Octagon Villa (Sea View), it was a good stay but there are issues / problem that we encountered going and staying on this hotel. - We arrived 2 hours late and it was hard to contact them, tried to call them on their mobile number / phone number so I can advise them that we will arrive late and to ask how we can go there from Nasugbu, but was not able to call them (either no one answered/unattended/out of coverage). - They have WiFi but was not able to connect to the internet (no internet connection/really slow network connection) so we have to use our data connection instead. Though I'm just not sure if they are just having a network connectivity that time. We don't have a car when we go here and this is our first time travelling to Matabungkay so we have to check on internet. (We took a bus from PITX to Nasugbu (Waltermart) and tricycle from Waltermart to the hotel. They said there are jeep on the area but not really sure). Overall, the staff are nice and friendly and they offer different water activities.

We went there for a day trip on the Maundy Thursday holiday. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a nice place in Matabungkay (as I always had a prejudice against the place, though it was my first time there). The staff were nice and friendly from the gate guard to the people inside. The grounds were spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people without feeling cramped. Day trip rate is reasonable at 500 pesos per head. Clean restrooms and shower areas (!!!!!!) 🙃 The food we ate was okay but I expected more (taste and appearance 😅) Beach area was clean and the water was warm because it was shallow-- it was up to my knee approximately 15 meters from the shore.

After 2 hours looking for hotel to stay for a night finally we are here. Most staffs are polite, helpful and kind. From the main entrance security, to the reception, bellman up to the restaurant waitress👍👍 The room we had Sunset E were out-dated and worn out. I guess 6,200 pesos is not worthy? 🤷🏻‍♀️ There was no welcome fruit, no welcome drink when you arrived while checking-in, no slippers inside the room but in total it was clean. We can say the food are very tasty as we had our dinner in Cogon Bar and Restaurant. 😋 Also, we have personal space for our car to park near our place, which was great! The recreational amenities such as giant chess, swimming pools and beachfront huts are wonderful. We indeed enjoyed playing chess. ♟️♟️✔️💯 We did not swim on the beach but we end up picking trashes along the shore. Although we saw plenty of trash bins in between of huts and open air tambayan. 😬 However, we had a good stay. 🙂 Tim and Gladys 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼
