My stay at the resort was marred by several issues. Firstly, the staff took an incredibly long time to respond to inquiries, making communication frustrating. Secondly, the internet connection was painfully slow, hindering my ability to stay connected. Lastly, after 5pm, there was no front desk staff available, causing inconvenience during emergencies or urgent requests. Unfortunately, these drawbacks overshadowed what could have been a more enjoyable experience at the resort.
The kids did not mind as they enjoy the swim and the beach. The adults were not amused.

We thought the place the cottages, staff are fantastic but its the other way around. The dining area is full of flies and the beach is one hell of a NIGHTMARE you can see baby diapers, napkins, plastic bags, used shoes, broken glasses swimming in the beach just looked at our photos that we posted here in tripadvisor guys.I was even chased by the three dogs inside the resort while walking in the seashore good thing I was not bitten by their stupid dogs but I stumbled in one area of the shore where our Canon Digicam was hit by the waves of the sea. Unfortunately our camera was broken and we asked the management of Calubcub Beach Resort that they should be responsible for their dogs and the damaged done to our Canon Digital Camera but their response "hell no" all the staff and their lady manager was so rude and they even said that its not their responsibility to shoulder the damages done by their dogs. Its an epic terrible experience we had with this unaccommodating, maliciously insensitive staff of this beach resort!

1. Food took too long to serve so we cancelled our order.
2. Weak security, they couldn't implement resort policy on quiet time. Called up management and they couldn't do anything about the videoke.
3. Not enough personnel.
SO NOT WORTH IT. I'm never going back here ever again.

Poorly trained staff

Beach Area - black sand, dirty, short shoreline.

Hotels and Rooms - clean. everything is clean and spacious.

Check in:
they will help you with your luggages.

During the stay:

they promise that the resort is exclusive but during 2nd night, it is no longer exclusive for us. "sayang kasi" according to the manager.

our food were ate by dogs and cats. Not just one, two, three or 4 or 5 or 6 but MANY/SEVERAL DOGS AND CATS.

No one is available to assist us except the security guard assigned at the front area of the resort.

Kitchen is available until 8pm including the other staff except the security guard. (we are composed of 130 pax)

Going to the town proper will take you 15 to minutes so if you need food and others make sure you have stock.

Our villa room on the 2nd were flooded when it rained as well as the 1st floor kitchen. at first no one assisted us, i borrowed mop and they gave me cleaning materials to dry the floor but no one assisted us. all the staff were busy chatting in one area. After the rain, the guest's tent fe due to the heavy rain and still no one assisted them.

Food: nothing special

CHECKOUT:

considering that they help us during check in, check out is different... they no longer allowed the truck to get inside near the villas, they do nor provide the tricycle claiming that their tricyle is not available, no staff assisted us, We carried 1 truck of cases of beer and other cases of drinks and materials..... this is how they treat guests... upon payment, go. bahala kayo sa buhay nyo.

verdict: not happy and not okay for an outing.

Response from REYTESS O, Owner at Calubcub Bay Resort & Recreation
Responded Sep 9, 2017
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you very much for your review of our Resort during your stay. Your feedback is very important to improve our place and services as we constantly strive to give our guest the best possible service to make their stay memorable. Given all those negative observations we can understand your frustration and we sincerely apologize for all those shortcomings from our side. With regards to the Beach Area, we always encourage all our Customers especially for a big group/Team Building to have an ocular inspection of the Resort before the finalization of the agreement and we believe your group have done that and your representative must have noticed that the beach area is not really that clean (and we never deny that) especially on this habagat and rainy period. We are trying our best to do the cleaning but during habagat and rainy season the debris coming from the sea is insurmountable. Having said that, we can assure you that during normal season you will see a clean beach front. For the exclusive use of the Resort, we are sorry if there's a breach of any covenants but we don't recall any Team Building Group that have an exclusive arrangement with us and kindly verify from your representative. The Resort is Public in concept thus you will expect another Group of people unless you have a special arrangement to rent the whole resort (300 pax capacity) which we don't have any in our record. Many Dogs and Cats- if not for animal cruelty law we could have done something to completely get rid of these animals! Seriously, this is our big problem as all these animals keep on coming back although we regularly throw them out of the Resort. We have now reached an agreement with the Local Authority to assist on its removal and rest assured that there will be no more Cats and Dogs roaming around in the future. For the Restaurant, we normally closed the main restaurant at 8pm but the Resto Bar in the Poll Deck is open up to 10pm (though we will investigate why it's not open according to you). Also, before we close the main restaurant there's supposed to be a room to room notice for last call before closing. The concept of the Resort is that the customers are allowed or do their cooking that's why we close early as there's no more Customer after 8pm (but again we normally extend if there's a request during the last call notice). Finally, we sincerely regret all those shortcomings on the "Meet and Assist" and the absence of Concierge assistance during the checkout and we assure you that we will do some drastic move to improve the performance of our staff. Hope you can give us another opportunity to welcome you back. Thanks and best regards,

The place is secluded hence if you want to go soul searching, this is a perfect place.

But the staffs are not that hospitable. Beach is not conducive for swimming due to big waves and black sands. But one can find other activities they offer.

Bring your own toiletries as for the price, their rooms have no soaps or shampoos or even towels.

Good thing is that you can bring your own food without corkage.

The place is nice for family or small group outings, there is a good number of staff ready to help you with even small details like requesting for additional chili and onions for your Lomi. The pool is just the right size for the place, and the slide functional for those who want a little more adrenaline rush.

Only limitation is the beach, I guess it is great for swimming except when there are lots of jelly fish swimming beside you. We had lots of fun with our sand games though and were able to dip a little on areas with little or no jellies.

For food, upon arriving, ask for the Lomi first. For your lunch or dinner, ask for the Bulalo. You will never be wrong with those two.

It's amazing place to spend your weekend! My family enjoyed every bit of our stay with lot of things that you can do. Starts with our swimming back and forth beach and pool and having our joy riding with the ATV in the 4 hectares land area.
They have also Kayak, paddle boat, Billiard Table, Volley ball, etc.
The fishing is exciting thought the fish are still small but just the same it's enjoyable to catch your first fish...
In totality, the trip is just awesome!!
