I can't say enough good things about our host Chena. She does everything, cook, drive you to the Mayan Ruins, get you to an ATM... whatever you need she is there to help. Swimming in the river is more fun than a swimming pool, the food is great, and the Wi-Fi is strong and everywhere.
Clarissa Falls was a delightful jungle lodge and special part of our trip to Belize. We traveled with another family (4 adults/5 teenagers) and spent 3 nights there. Chena was a delightful host. The food was fabulous-the best we ate in Belize (try the Eskebeche, stuffed squash, and black bean soup with meatball and egg (I forgot the name), corn tortillas, and fry jacks with honey). Chena organized our ATM tour with her friend Orlando who met us at the resort (we drove separately to the cave giving us the opportunity to stop in San Ignacio after the tour). We also tubed down the river for a relaxing afternoon counting iguanas. The huts are thatch roof with comfortable beds and hot showers. I can't recommend this place enough!
Every time we come to Belize, Clarissa Falls Resort is a must. Chena will care for you better than your mother. The views, wildlife, bird (native and domestic) sounds, and mix of wild outdoors and modern comforts make the stay relaxing and invigorating. Whether it's taking a swim in the river or eating a home cooked meal watching hummingbirds and toucans frolic or just chatting with Chena and her devoted staff, it's all a treat. My daughter and I hadn't been back for several years -thanks pandemic:( - and it felt like returning home. I can't recommend staying here enough!
Clarissa Falls has the most beautifully kept natural grounds. Kids loved all the animals- they names all the chickens, geese & turkey. Chena is just lovely and runs the accommodations and restaurant. Food is fantastic, swimming in the river (and rope swing) are great fun for the kids. Cabins are rustic, but if you’re looking for an authentic natural experience, this is perfect. Wonderful experience!
Chena is the owner of the resort and had a vision for it since she was 10 years old. The resort has an amazing layout of some very rustic authentic and comfortable jungle huts. She has a restaurant and bar that serves great drinks and amazing food. Her personality and sincere desire to make sure your trip and time there is the best it can be is what made our trip so special. We would highly recommend to anyone.
we passed by this beautiful place today to have some drinks and chill. it is located on a river that is great for swimming. they even added a rope swing which we thought was a special addition to have fun. the owner is so nice and the place is just overall welcoming. when you go there definitely try the fruitcake and/or spongecake. the margaritas were great as well. its family friendly and good for people of all ages. had an amazing time!
Ms. Chena offers wonderful hospitality, great food and lovely cabins to rest and recharge. Located on the Mopan river, it's a beautiful property that offers calm and respite from a crazy busy world. The food is excellent served in an open dining area with the sound of the river falls to calm you. You can relax in a hammock or swim in the river after a day of sight seeing. Easy to get to Xunantunich archaeological site and other must see Mayan sites. This is a lovely place filled with charm and good old fashioned warmth. I felt very welcomed and I will be back!
Clarissa Falls is located in a beautiful jungle setting. Loved everyone who worked here. It is very small but the do everything to take care of you. Their restaurant was exceptional. The breakfast omelet was so so good. My daughter and granddaughter both enjoyed it also. It isn't luxuries but you don't need luxury when in the jungle. The sound of the river is all you need.
Chena was a very special personal - welcomed us to Belize and then we saw her at the airport when we were living. She loves plants, as did we, and shared information about them. Food was great; she was a gracious, accommodating hostess. Fish stew was out of this world. Nice location for exploring the area. She was helpful in setting up horse rides to Xunantanich. The huts sort of had a river view, but the sound of the river was really nice to hear. The setting looked like a jungle garden, very unique.
We stopped to see the falls and found this beautiful property! We had the best pina coladas ever made by the super nice and friendly owner. There was beautiful scenery and lots of animals around, even a rooster in a tree.
