This was the first time that I had been to this pub, and it was very pretty. My meal was less successful though, The steak and ale pie was unavailable (at midday) so I had steak and kidney suet pie. The meat and gravy were delicious, but the suet crust was more like a lasagne sheet. Broccoli and cauliflower were fine but the carrots were virtually raw and I couldn't get my fork into them. I'm afraid the roast potatoes were very hard too ,very unpleasant. Can somebody tell me why restaurants continually under cook vegetables , I , for one, know nobody who likes them like that? My companion enjoyed their meal though.

I'll start by saying that the food was fine, I really can't complain in that regard and under normal circumstances or at a different time of year this may have been a much more positive review. Upon entry it quickly became apparent that the place had a lot of flies inside with many crawling about on the ceiling and several flying around, when the food arrived the flies immediately started buzzing around us trying to land on our food. It practically felt like I had to stop eating every 5 seconds to waft off a fly or two just to stop them landing on my food. Next up is the protective measures for Covid-19, frankly there really didn't seem to be many at all.. outside was a hand sanitiser pump however none of the staff were wearing a face shield which seems to be pretty standard in other places right now, staff would lean across tables to put down the food and still would not be wearing a mask despite the distance being significantly below 2m, there was tape on the floor to try and show where people should stand for social distancing yet a large amount of people were allowed in and as such no social distancing was maintained. When we left the only exit involved having to walk between the already overcrowded queueing area which meant basically brushing shoulders with other customers. Finally though tables were sanitised after other customers left we noticed that the chairs were not sanitised. If we were not in the midst of a global pandemic then I would definitely be more willing to recommend this place based on the quality of the food, however right now I can only describe the experience as disappointing and concerning.

What a dreadful experience! Having happily enjoyed the delicious food, fast and friendly service and delightful surroundings at The White Horse for over 10 years now I couldn't quite believe what happened yesterday. OK, completely understand about Covid restrictions and that's been organised very well indeed, but waiting for over ONE HOUR for food, when hardly busy at the lull time of 5pm that's inexcusable and extremely disappointing. And, not only were we sitting in the garden for over an hour with no explanation, apology or anything, when the food eventually did arrive my husband's vegetables were completely cold so he had to eat the hot pie whilst waiting for warm vegetables to arrive, as couldn't bear the thought of sending his whole plate back! When would he see it again? My mum and I were given our meals but offered no sauce nor salt and pepper for our chips! And my curry had no flat bread nor chutney as it used to have! When I asked the waitress for the sauce and chutney she said ok but we never saw her again! All in all a terrible treat for my mum who usually likes us to take her out when we visit for the day. Very sadly after 10 years of enjoying your food we will not be returning again.

Came here to have a meal out with my husband. We have been to this pub so many times before and had no complaints. Tonight we had to wait 30 to 40 minutes between our starter and our mains. My husband ordered chicken with bacon burger, it didn’t have any bacon, it was half a chicken burger, not a lot of fries. I didn’t think it was worth the money tonight. The staff was apologetic and friendly. One family was waiting a hour and 15 minutes for their mains. Was going to order desserts, but weren’t going to wait another 30 minutes for it .
