Hotel is magnificent with magical views from every window. Hotel room was classed as superior, it was adequate and comfortable no coffee machine as described in the booking. We had two double beds in our room? No free view or satellite TV, room looked dated. We had a bar meal which was not the best with having to wait 45 minutes for lunch the minute steak sandwich was so tough you couldn’t cut it with a knife! Dunston having such high expectations in reality let me down.

We had our wedding in October and we have nothing but thanks to Dunston Hall for making our day as lovely as it was. Anita was brilliant and helped us with any questions along the way and was always on hand. The food was also great but parts of what we selection from our tasting menu were different on the day. Our only real gripe was the feature room included in our package (in our opinion) was in need of updating/modernising. The bed was not great & the mattress didn’t even fit the frame. But other than that we would highly recommend anyone to have a wedding there.

Cannot fault the room and how lovely the place was but the dinner was terrible, waited 45mins for drinks to be taken and food was poor standard and cold but as it took so long to come out I couldn't be bothered to ask for anything else, the breakfast was bog standard premier inn quality expected way more for the price I paid and the website is very misleading and this was also confirmed by the staff, so be careful when booking because you may think your booking the service you want and not getting what you paid for.

Requested 2 glasses for our room from reception. After 30 mins they had not arrived. Tried ringing from room nobody answered phone. Went to reception to chase glasses and report phone. Receptionist said she would send glasses and report phone to maintenance. I said that I did not want disturbing by maintenance man and to leave the phone problem until the next day. When I returned to room tne glassess arrived. 10 mins later more glasses arrived. 10 minutes later the phone maintenance man arrived. It was also evident that the bar staff were serving alcoholic drinks to rowdy individuals that had obviously had too much to drink. This is against the licensing laws ! When I returned home I rang the hotel regarding a pending payment on my credit card despite having checked out ? I left my tel no and requested the duty manager to call me regarding this query, Nobody has rang me after 48+ hours.

Hello, Thank you for posting a review, following your stay at Dunston Hall Hotel. I am sorry that there was some confusion around supplying 2 glasses for you, though am kind of pleased that my team did try to resolve this for you, along with the maintenance issue. We operate well within Licensing Laws and our team are trained to judge whether to serve guests, who have been drinking, and regularly refuse service to intoxicated patrons. We have broken no laws, as the opinion of whether to serve a guest lies with the licence holder, though I do appreciate your concern. Please could you contact reservations@dunstonhallhotel.co.uk with your contact details, and we will do our best to resolve your charge query. Regards, Dean S

A friend booked an overnight stay, dinner, B&B with use of the pool facilities. Upon arrival, the room was extremely basic with very Tatty wood furnishings. The pool was nice as were the changing facilities Before dinner, we went to the bar which was freezing cold! We purchased 2 alcoholic drinks and were charged £25! We thought a mistake had clearly been made as when staying in similar places, such as Barnham Broom, we have never been charged such ridiculous prices!! We were told that this was correct, so after looking forward to a relaxing evening, I ended up on fizzy water for the duration of the evening. I am still in shock at the prices! We went to dinner which was fine, nothing amazing. We then went back to the bar to relax, me on my fizzy water. Upon returning to it, we may as well have been sitting outside in the cold. It was overwhelmingly icy and just horrible. Never have I had to return to my hotel room at 9.15p.m before because I was so frozen cold! The hotel room upon returning was also freezing cold. The heating control was faulty, the phone didn't work to call through to reception and after an hour of several attempts, the heating finally worked! At 5a.m this morning, a Sunday morning, we were abruptly and rudely awoken by an alarm constantly going off in the room next to ours. My friend went to reception to report this and an employee was then bankgng on the door next to ours to get this stopped. A relaxing, much needed break, not at all!! Would I recommend, not in a million years. The ladies toilets were disgustly dirty too. I think Dunston Hall needs to visit Barnham Broom for some tips of how to look after its guests properly. Totally disappointed in what had been a much needed escape for a night

The spa treatment was excellent and staff highly professional in ensuring information provided regarding allergies etc was dealt with so no disappointments. The hotel was the opposite, I had to spend alot of time trying to provide information reagding my sisters food limits " she'd be ill if she ate anything she can't have". Detailedd list sent and on arrival provided to staff in the restaurant etc. I was reasured information had be forwarded to relavent department/people that there was no need to pre-order with the chef and on our first evening nothing had been done. Totally spoilt that reaxing day we had had as I had to complain etc and what they produced was disgusting for a four star hotel!! We didn't get charged that evening and had a nice meal the secodn night but again not very special "cottage pie". Despite my huge efforst etc to avoid all of this to ensure my sister had a wonderful weekend and part of that was to dien well it spoilt our time and created alot of unnecessary staff. Yes we had aplogies etc but honestly that wasn't enough. I'd been considerate of how busy chefs are but nothing was appreciated!

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your kind words about the spa treatment and the professionalism of the staff. However, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience you faced at the hotel regarding your sister's food restrictions. It is disheartening to hear that despite providing detailed information in advance, there was a lapse in communication and no accommodations were made on your first evening. We understand how important it is to cater to individual dietary needs, and we will make sure to address this issue with our team to prevent such occurrences in the future. I'm pleased that you had a good dining experience on the second night though am sorry that the "cottage pie" didn't meet your expectations. While apologies were offered, it's understandable that you were hoping for more appreciation and understanding for your consideration. We value your feedback and will strive to improve our services based on it. If there's anything else we can assist you with or if you have any further suggestions, please let us know. Regards, Dean S

Our Junior suite was well situated and spacious. Unfortunately the toilet seat was insecure. The bathroom could do with a shelf/shelves for toiletries. The easy chairs are not placed conveniently for TV viewing and had to be moved. Otherwise the room had a good view and was warm with aircon if needed. The dining room was our main concern as the Hotel hosts coach loads which slows down the service and food quality, The waiting staff were young, pleasant and helpful. We always enjoy our stays at Dunston Hall but in some areas they could do better as a 4 star hotel. Very well situated for Norwich park n ride or access to Norfolk destinations.

We appreciate your kind words about the spaciousness and location of our Junior suite, as well as the pleasant and helpful nature of our waiting staff. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the insecure toilet seat and the lack of shelves in the bathroom for toiletries. We will definitely take note of these areas for improvement.
