Looking for a more quiet place for a weekend dive? This is the place to be.
Built initially as a private beach home, it was renovated recently to cater to small diving groups. 2 cabanas are the main accommodation of the resort with a nice veranda on each to chill out at the end of a diving day. The bedrooms are clean and the beds are huge. Bathroom facilities are clean and water very strong.
A small pool adds to the overall appeal of the resort.
Food is good, with friendly and courteous staff.
Dive operations managed by owner Ram Yoro, who is a certified dive master. Because it is a small place, everything including the dive center are close to each other without the noise of a huge dive facility.
Ample parking under shady trees cost only P60/day. Thats a lityle over $1.50.

Although we only stayed overnight. The experience to stay at Vista Aplaya was memorable. Although The place is very far. (We drove for almost 5 hours from QC.) but we didn't mind. The owners were really accommodating as well as the staff. The resort is very well maintained. The room we stayed at is very clean. The floor is impressive! Walang alikabok. The beddings are new laundered bec it still smells bleach, unlike some resorts that they repeatedly use their linens even if the previous guests had already used them. It becomes itchy.
It is a really good place to stay and just lounge around and be lazy. Just smell the sea breeze and relax. Drink pinacoladas with your feet up on the table and wait for food to be served! :)
Oh by the way, (I hope mam Tess can read this, :) ) Hi mam Tess, I will invite some friends and we will be coming back there at Vista Aplaya. I would like to make a suggestion- I hope you won't mind. We really enjoyed our short stay at Vista. I hope next time you can offer us food that are fresh. like seafoods, fresh veggies and fruits. that's what we are usually up to esp we don't eat that much fresh foods in the city. Less meats. The accommodation is just a bonus.
The beach water is clean and clear but too scary to swim at because the rocks are too sharp! I wish that you can make just a little swimming area for the guest to enjoy a bit of the seawater.
Thank you for being so accommodating. Feeling owner na rin kami, hehehehe.
Stayed as family with kids on July 4&5, 2014.

We were an extended family of 8 that stayed for 3 days-2 nights on June 20-22,2014, and had an excellent time at this resort!
Because it had only 8 rooms and could accommodate only a small number of guests at a time, the resort had such a cozy, personal feel, without the commercialized impersonality of big resorts. Even the food served was comfort food and was home-like.
The beachfront and poolside rooms were well-appointed; the view was great and the grounds were immaculate. The swimming pool was never crowded and everyone in our group had a blast. The only drawback was the rocky beach and rather rough ocean that appealed only to me, the only snorkeler in the group.
I can't say enough about the attentiveness of the service! The head server was excellent and the husband-wife owners were solicitous , welcoming and very helpful. Also, because I have to make reservations from overseas, I so appreciated the ease of making reservations and the very prompt and professional replies to my e-mails.
On the Sunday of our stay, my cousin, who is a Jesuit priest, celebrated Mass with the clear, blue ocean as a backdrop and the sound of the waves as background and the friends we felt we made at the resort. What a perfect way to end our relaxing and rejuvenating stay!
We will definitely be back!

The place is nice but the service is the reason why you should not stay here. They dont have a functional restaurant. It takes them at least an hour to prepare just a basic noodle dish.
Bad planning as they werent able to anticipate number of guests.
Dining is just one part. Better to try other nearby resorts.

If you're someone who wants just to relax and not fond of such activities, this is the place for you. The resort is just a small property which is good as it tends to be more private, not like other big resorts.
What I like about this resort is their infinity pool which is just right in front of the beach. So while enjoying the pool, you also get to enjoy the view of the beach and the mountains as the backdrop.
The rooms are also great. We availed of Cottage 1, which is the one facing the pool and the beach. If you want to chill with the beach as your view, better avail this one. however, they do not have phones installed anywhere in the room, which is a con because you have to go outside and look for someone if you need anything. Also, there is no wifi anywhere in the resort.
Location? location is a con because of the way going to the resort. It's a one way road and it's very steep. However, what you're paying for is the view. Also, they do charge 90 pesos for the parking. I don't think this is appropriate because we just parked along the road and yet we were charged.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed our stay in this resort. Staff were accommodating and no problems encountered.

This place is not just about the pleasure of being out of town and enjoying life's escapades; what my family experienced with the hosts and their place was all about being home and being one with them. It's amazing how they accommodate and give the best they could in such short notice. No words can explain how great they treat guests. Salute!

Booked the entire resort for my family & we really had an amazing time :) its a standout among other Anilao resorts as it doesn't charge the usual per head rate (which is not friendly for big groups). Its exclusive & the view is breath taking! The resort fixtures itself is beautiful & well maintained (they even renovated recently to add 3 new rooms). We just paid extra for kitchen fees & outsourced cooking which was very convenient. The cooks are skilled as food is delicious. The family who ran the resort are very pleasant & accommodating. Will come back for sure!

Yes...that is the question you'd be asking if you plan to go to Vista Aplaya Resort. Why???
Well, if you decide you just want to get away and relax in a very nice resort without having to bask in the beach under the sun, then this is the place to be. The resort is very nice and very well maintained. Rooms have two queen sized beds and very nice bathrooms. The AC is cold and the rooms are equip with cable TV.
Outside, there is an infinity swimming pool overlooking the beach and there is a recreational area a where you can play billiards.
But should you decide to go for a getaway by spending the entire day under the sun on the beach, then, this is not the place for you to go. The beach is hopeless. The shores are filled with shard rocks and corals and they occupy most of the shoreline. Not kid friendly. By the time you get to a part where there are no corals, the water is way too deep for you to stand. One should know that Anilao is not a good beach to swim and play on the shores. It is more known as a dive site. You are better off going to Nasugbu where the beaches are better.
We were here for a company team building for some RnR. The resort did not offer much. We just went there, drank, swam in the pool, played cards and billiards and by the time we felt our tiresome bodies from the drive, we hit the sack.

Raves: A cozy resort with only seven room accommodations. This is a good thing if you want to relax and have some peace and quiet. Very clean and well manicured lawn/garden. There is also only one medium size pool in the resort though clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our swim in Sombrero Island. Though the area for swimming is limited, we enjoyed the clear and cool waters and white sand. The rickety small nipa hut rental was a rip off at Php800. Better to bring your own beach umbrella and towels ;) There's also a fee of Php200/head to swim there. Bangka rental to take you there is at Php2800. Bring your own drinks and food since there's nothing to buy at the island. Rants: When we arrived at the resort, we had to go find someone to acknowledge our arrival. There's no reception office or area. We were given another room because our room was given to another group. Their reasons were because "nagustuhan daw nung naunang guests" and "mas malaki naman yung room na ito" (the room they were giving us). I didn't want to start my vacation arguing with anybody..so we got the room. It had two queen size beds. The room smelled of old wood because of the nipa hut open ceiling/roof. The room has also limited amenities. Toiletries were toothpaste and small soaps in sachets. We had to ask for towel too. My sisters' got Cottage 6. It was small..looks like a maid/driver's quarters. It had a double size and one single bed. Had en-suite bathroom but no tv. If I'm not mistaken, it seems the room was added only recently to use dead space in the resort since it was in the corner most area near the main gate. But nonetheless, it was clean and the beds were good enough to sleep in. Food was ok. Nothing to rave about. The resort has a lot of potential. The location is great. The resort is beautiful. It just needs leveling up. Reservations - The first person I talked to was not sure of the info she was giving out because she always said.. "ata.." "i'm not sure.."...lacks coordination because one person was doing the email replies and another person was replying to the text messages. The resort's website should be updated since the price and room descriptions are not specified.

When the husby asked what I wanted to do for new year's eve I said: "I would like us to take the kids to a nearby beach, with comfortable rooming, well maintained accommodations with a pool. I would like to nap on the beach front on a hammock where I can hear the waves crash." I also would like us to watch fireworks during the New Year's eve countdown." Lo and behold, we found all these in Vista Aplaya.
Ambience: This was our favorite part. As soon as you step into the resort, you feel welcomed. There is a pool facing the sea, well appointed thatched roofs on the cottages, and an open dining area with the view of the pool and the sea too. The resort is homey and quaint. It can house only 26 people at a time. But for families like us who like homey places, this was ideal. The pool was key during our internet search.. We travelled with 3 kids (aged 6 to 12), and a pool was sure to keep them busy. Food: Food is home-cooked local fare cooked by Tess Caldron, one of the owners of the resort. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, preferably pre-ordered. We had daing na bangus, omelette fresh pandesal for breakfast. The resort surprisingly also allows guests to bring in their own food, free from corkage! If you plan to cook, there is a PhP2000 charge to cook (this is reasonable), or if you want to refrigerate some of your food, a minimum fee of PhP500 will be charged. On New Years eve, they served a sumptouous buffet of Pinoy food: grilled bangus, kare kare, lumpiang shanghai, pancit bihon, (onyl PhP400 per head) and then the owner who everyone fondly calls Tito Rey, brought in a whole lechon! Rooms: We booked Cottage 1, which is the beach front cottage, a few weeks before New Year. It was ideal for the family because there was a spacious porch with a living room set up. The view was spectacular. I could watch that view from sunrise to sunset. The rooms was just right in size, and the bathrooms were clean. Way to Resort: Roads leading to the resort are smooth. Just watch out for the tiny road after you exit the main road of Anilao. It gets tiny and steep (and scary) so keep honking your horn, as a warning to any cars coming up. All in all the family experience was excellent. I would love to book this place as early as now for the next New Year.
