If you're a camera nerd, once you see the camera room, you know this is the place for you. Just seethe pics below. Everyone has their own workstation with mats, towels, lights, sockets, etc. You'll encounter some pros and gawk at their gear The guides are great at spotting subjects. Boatmen very friendly and courteous. Post dive meals are amazing. Healthy delicious food. The desserts are specially made everyday!

We stayed and dived with CBR in December 2019 and still fondly remember our time there! The diving is excellent, our guides were knowledgeable with the critters whereabouts. This was my foremost priority - to go with guides who dive there regularly with uw photographers - who will give us the best chances of having an eventful dive trip. We went home happy with many critters photos to play with. The facility - while the rooms are cozy, it was comfy and clean. The layout of dive area is organized by boat which makes for a really organized dive prep even with multiple boats. Photography room is designed with a proper work station for your kit (our humble compacts were happy among the pro seagates and red cameras) - complete with mats, soft towels, outlets, and table lamps. Wow this was the most impressive camera room we’ve ever seen (and we’ve been to a lot of spots for diving and photography). Lastly. THAT BUFFET was beyond expected. As divers, we normally acknowledge that we are paying for quality dive operations which may not always translate to how well the resort side of things are run. But wow the food options (local and western) and quality was above expectation. On the 3rd day - I was already searching for the pastry chef. How does a dive resort have a pastry chef?! These little details make the experience super worth it. Overall a very well run dive resort. Would come back if they weren’t always fully booked! Highly recommend to our friends. Thank you Kuya Jerry and crew for the awesome dives. 👌

Crystal Blue completely exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff went above and beyond. The food was amazing, and the resort was not only beautiful, but had a great work flow. My guide, Kim, was awesome and pointed out subjects that I couldn't even see with my own eyes sometimes! There were times I had to look through my lenses to see it! I'm primarily a wide angle shooter and I've only shot macro a handful of times a couple years ago. I actually had a lot of anxiety for this trip because I was worried that I wouldn't get the shots that I had in my mind. Especially since I didn't have time to practice with my 100mm before the trip! But with Mike's tips and techniques I was able to capture the images I wanted and more! I really challenged myself, focused, and was able to problem solve underwater to get the shots that I was going for. I really enjoyed Mike's daily assignments and I learned so much from him, including some advanced lighting techniques among other advanced techniques. I HIGHLY recommend this dive resort for all levels of divers including beginners to pros, as well as all levels of underwater photographers; beginners, amateurs, and pro shooters (even if you're primarily a wide angle shooter! This is the place to fall in love with macro!) Now I finally understand the macro addiction. It allows for so much creativity! Mike, thank you for opening up my "creative macro door", I couldn't be more grateful! I look forward to diving with you again! :)

This was our 4th trip in 4 years all to Crystal Blue Resort and it gets better every year. Mike Bartick and his hard working staff continue to update and improve the resort and each year we are pleasantly surprised by what they’ve accomplished since or last visit. Rooms are large with comfortable beds and large clean bathrooms that the staff clean while we’re out diving and taking photos. The cooks and wait staff anticipate your needs and what you like to have at mealtime making for enjoyable dining with plenty of delicious food at every meal. Mike has created a photographers dream setup in the air conditioned camera room, separate station complete with power strips and lighting perfect for working on your UW camera setups. The dive operation is great and makes diving easy with helpful staff taking care of handling your gear on and off the bangkas (local boats). He hires the best dive guides that can find interesting and beautiful critters on every dive. This is our favorite spot to stay and dive at in the Philippines so we’re most likely going back again. Thanks to Mike and great staff for making such a great trip experience again.
