In 2020 AQUAVENTURE CAME UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. . The new owners decided to bring Aquaventure to a whole new level. You have to remember that this is one of the very few original diving resorts left in the Philippines. Everyone from famous movie stars and pop stars have been here and for a very good reason. Its location is without doubt the best along this coast in terms of access to dive sites and protection from bad weather. AQUAVENTURE is the ONLY resort in the area where can drive your car to the shorline, unlike the other reosrts that involves often hundreds of steps to climb everyday. It is with a deep passion and love that this now family run resort is undergoing huge investment in order to restore its former glory. The dedicated staff have worked tirelessly over the last six months in order to help make the transformation complete. This transformation is not just for six months, it is all part of the on-going plan to take Aquaventure to a new level. We know that some things needed to be changed, so we looked, we listened and we acted upon what you our customers asked us to do. We even built a new road all the way down to the beach to make it even easier for our guests. No other dive resorts have this facility. Aquaventure Reef Club is located in the Anilao area of Batangas, Luzon’s premier dive destination. It is a two and a half hours drive south of Manila but once you get there, you are only minutes away from an unforgettable diving adventure. The resplendent colours of corals found in Anilao’s waters make the place ideal for underwater photography. Need to take a break from diving (although we can’t imagine why you’d want to)? Our location is also perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Or get out of the water and have a beach picnic. Better still; explore the many neighbouring islands on our outrigger boats. Anilao is a Marine Protected Sanctuary. It is the best spot in the Philippines for underwater macro photography. Divers and underwater photographers are attracted to Anilao for the incredible diversity, rich reefs, and variety of fish, unexpected critters and nudibranchs turning up at every corner. Our resort is nestled against the jungle and these provide exotic scenery while riding to and from dive sites. Here you will find vibrant and colourful Nudibranchs and a huge variety of Critters like Crabs, Shrimps and Cuttlefish. It is not rare to observe the rather strange looking Hairy Frogfish, Blue-Ringed Octopus as well as Mimic Octopus and Rhinopias. Mantis Shrimp, several species of Gobies and Bobbit Worms are also common encounters. The reef life is thriving and usually quite shallow allowing longer bottom time for photographers and a perfect spot for Snorkeler’s to explore. You can also observe pelagic fishes such as Barracudas, Jacks and Trevallies as well as Reef Sharks which can be spotted in dive sites like Mainit Point. There is a great variety of wonderful hard and soft Coral too and the conservation efforts are proving to be working well! There are about 50+ dive sites around Aquaventure with the most famous being Sombrero Island, Maricaban, Cathedral, Mainit & Dive + Trek. Diving Season It is technically possible to dive all year round. However there are certainly better periods than others: The main diving season in Anilao runs from early November to May. In July, August and September it is the rainy season and there can even be Typhoons! We also have alternative locations if the sea conditions are not good. The Water is colder in January and February with temperatures going down to 22°C and 24°C on average. The warmest time to dive is during April and May. November is also a very good time to explore Anilao. The visibility is about the same from November to May and you can expect about 15m and even 20m in a good day. ANILAO DIVING HIGHLIGHTS: The Anilao diving scene is dominated by its world-class muck dives, wide array of rare critters, and truly amazing night diving experience. Prepare your critter list, pack your underwater photo gear, and head to Anilao. You'll be surprised how many you manage to cross off within a week of scuba diving in Anilao. Saying that Anilao is a critter haven and paradise for macro underwater photographers is almost of an understatement. There is so much more to this Philippines diving destination that you could ask for. With healthy reefs nearby, wide-angle opportunities are also present. Anilao is home to incredibly trained and knowledgeable dive guides who will blow your mind with their God-given ability to point the rarest, smallest, weirdest critter that you'll never be able to find yourself. Then there is the friendliness and hospitality of the Aquaventure dive and resort staff. The Philippines truly is a hospitable country, and you'll feel their warm welcome the moment you land at the airport.

Detailed Reviews
We all had a fantastic time here. The diving was excellent and varied with plenty of sites to visit. Nothing was too much trouble and our weeks diving was planned when we arrived. The 19 dives we had there had no duplication and they were relaxed and well organised. The picnics on the boat were excellent.
The dive staff and hotel staff were friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. Gen and Leo were generous and friendly hosts again eager to make our stay memorable to say nothing of Bond who was incredibly well behaved.
With so many dive sites there to visit a return visit may well be on the books.
Thank you Gen Leo and Team

Absolutely amazing. My wife and I wanted a fun dive trip we could also relax on. We are so glad we picked Aquaventure. Their shuttle made it so easy, arriving at the airport we were met by a friendly staff member that quickly got our luggage sorted and loaded. The place is absolutely beautiful, like a little slice of luxury nestled in paradise. The food was absolutely great, I can honestly say we didn't have a bad meal the whole week. All of the staff were so friendly, they really went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. The diving was amazing, boats were clean and well maintained, a very professional operation. Both my wife and I had an amazing time and can't wait to come back.

I did few introduction dives, and It was beutiful, but than i came to this place and this was the one of the smartiest thing i ever did. If decided to do a driving course, the this is the place. In a quiet corner, on the beach, with a stunning view in its simplicity, without competing with what nature has given, you immediately feel at home. The staff is so nice, welcoming, professional, skilled and responsible. The hotel is so cozy and clean, the food is simply excellent, they took care of each of us personally. We experience a very successful course , professional and responsible, we thoroughly learned all the basics of diving, we practiced a lot of safety actions, of course the special techniques of Gen Leo and Steve and of course, there is nothing like ending the day with a bottle of beer in front of the stunning sunset. Thanks to the amazing team that accompanied us and made sure that every morning everyone's personal equipment was waiting for them ready after washing and cleaning. If i will dive again in the Philippines It will be in Aquaventure, because it's not only the under water world, it's the people who make the different...

Booked as a last-minute family trip, I was quite worried after seeing the top review. But it was a long bank holiday weekend, and everywhere was sold out. Having read all the reviews, I grabbed the chance to book this place since there were 10 of us. Immediately after booking, the communication team was contacting us to ask if we need any special requirements and what we can expect from our stay. All I can say was, it is all worth it! The kids enjoyed it so much, even the adults. My advice is to know what you want. If you are looking for a 4-star hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you want a diving adventure, a cosy environment, and a responsible resort that promotes environmental conservation.... then this is the place for you. Thank you, dive master Gen, for ensuring the safety of my family as a first-time discovery divers. They had loads of fun and it was a great experience. Another thing to cross off the bucket list. We were checked in late because we booked late and had some issues with the family room, but the staff immediately resolved it, so all went well. The rooms were cosy, and the bed was so comfy. We all slept like a baby. The food was yummy and healthy. It's like having home cooked meal every time. The staff were helpful and accommodating. They even went an extra mile for my son, who is a very picky eater. Thank you Ms Gen and to all your staff for a FANTABULOUS weekend. I promise to go diving next time. We miss you already, GenBond 💖

Well all I can say is that our team have not stopped talking about your wonderful family. I am so glad you had a good time. We try to make it clear we are an old resort. We were the first scuba resort built in the Philippines. When we took over it was part of the deal to keep it the way it was built all those years ago. Please let us know if you can come back now you know this is a real home to home resort and it's like stepping back in time. We really hope to see you again. Big hugs from all the team .

We already had a premonition of things to come when we spotted the weathered almost unreadable sign on the main road. Down the steep and narrow "today" we go. Later, no signs, we had to ask the locals for directions. We finally figured out where to park, way down a super corrugated, rocky path. No chance if you don't drive a 4wd car with high ground clearance.
Nobody in sight to greet us or pick up the bags. After asking around we found the reception. We got to the room, it's super basic with two tiny separate beds.
We went for lunch only to discover that the kitchen had only one meal to offer (it would've been the same for dinner).we explicitly had let them known beforehand that we planned to have lunch and dinner there.
The "resort" seemed empty. Quite a sad view.
We the decided to go to another resort which really invests in maintenance and kitchen variety.
And all this for 5,500 PHP per night, it's just insulting. You can get good 4 stars hotels for this price in Makati.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay . All 9 minutes of it. When you booked you were given directions from the road to the front desk . It clearly stated this not a tarmac road and that's where there is a huge parking lot next to the main house that has a huge engraved sign on it saying ? Yep you guessed it Aquaventure Reef Club. The basic twin bed room you chose to book looks basic because that's why it's called basic . Now for the best bit . You were offered no less than 9 meal options by our staff. I know this because we have it clearly on CCTV. You told them you don't eat any of the western and Filipino options we have given you. You told our staff you only eat Canton noodles . We are a Filipino scuba diving resort not a Chinese restaurant. The reason why it's lacking in people during the day time is due to the fact,as I previously mentioned, we are a scuba diving resort and it's really difficult to scuba dive on the terrace,in the restaurant or in your bedroom. People come here to dive, eat , sleep and repeat. So guess why it was quiet when you get here ? Because most of our guests were under water. Finally I know you can get 4 star hotels in Makati, but you chose a hotel two hours away in Anilao.

I can't comment on the accommodation as I didn't stay there but I did all of my diving and ate there. The dive centre is really well equipped with safety a priority. The service I received was excellent. They even managed to organise a night dive for me when I arrived at 3pm. The service was excellent, with friendly staff and knowledagble dive guides who are absolute experts in finding anything macro.

We stayed here a few years ago and loved the Filipino vibe to the Aquaventure and easy access to the sea. Coming back a couple of years later we were pleasantly surprised that under new owners, the hotel, dive center and restaurant have been fully renovated and have only got better. We didn't dive this time round as we just wanted to chill, but at are looking forward to getting back soon for some amazing macro diving.
We took the full board option, an overnight stay with four meals. The staff were super attentive and friendly and the owners both sat down and chatted to us which is a lovely touch. More like a home a way from home . Can't wait to go back ! 😀😀

I came across this dive resort initially through Facebook posts and did a little research prior to booking a 6 day diving package. I contacted Gen and Steve at the hotel and immediately felt at ease after talking to them. They arranged pickup and dropoff from/to Manila also!!
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and with what was to become an amazing week of hospitality, customer service and diving!
The diving even in the off season was amazing, the dive masters, dive instructors and boat crew were professional, beyond helpful and even taught me new things as a 250 dive advanced diver. They are great at finding the specialty macro creatures that everyone wants to see and photograph.
This is a dive resort and as such, don't expect televisions and other distractions. When you're not diving, you can watch the sunset, enjoy visiting the staff and other guests in the large dining area. There is a pool however I did not use it.
They were attentive to any needs whether dietary or otherwise.
I left there feeling like I left my family after a great visit!

My family and I went here back in June and I can't recommend it enough. The place is just fabulous and the people are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, they even collected us from the airport and took us back again. Everything was done to make things as easy and comfortable as possible. We really felt very looked after which is so important when traveling with family. We hope to make it back again next year.

The beach is rocky but there is a shallow area where you can safely swim. Water is clear. But I advise against kids swimming due to slippery rocks and possible currents. Pool is a much safer option for kids.
No idea. I didn't see anyone with a pet while we were there.
