Detailed Reviews
We had a great time in Casa Escondida on our last dive trip. The suite is spacious and has a nice view over the pool and out to the sea. Dive operations are run well by the attentive crew - gear and handling was well taken care of. Our dive guide Kuya Heidi was super with helping us choose dive sites to see both critters and some reef and he made sure our dives are PLANNED and SAFE. When one of our divers got seasick while out in choppy water, he handled the situation professionally and supported our diver until safe in the boat. One of the things we appreciate most is the hot showers in dive shop level - as it was very chilly after dives. Immediately going to a hot shower without having to walk up to our rooms is such a comfort.
Buffet is good with many options - but could be better. Desserts could be better too.
Overall a very good experience and will not hesitate to come back!

I travelled and stayed in Casa Escondida for my Open Water Course. Upon arrival, my wife and myself got tested for Covid-19 as a standard precautionary measure for traveling in this new normal. We tested negative thankfully. It was around 11AM when we arrived and the standard check-in time is 2PM. I didn’t even asked for it but they guided us to the room immediately after finishing the contacless check-in process. There were several stairs in the resort but the staff were heavy to help bringing down our stuff to our room. When we got to our room/suite, the first thing you would notice is the amazing view of the pool and the sea. The room didn’t disappoint either. It was a big size suite completely fitted with 1 queen size and 1 double beds, TV, Ref, bathtub/jaccuzi. Internet connectivity is also good anywhere in the resort including in the room. The room also have a good size balcony which I really enjoyed every morning with my coffee which is free from the dining area. Dining area is only a few steps from our suite. The room amount already includes lunch upon arrival, afternoon snacks, dinner, breakfast and lunch before you leave if you are only staying overnight. Because of the new normal, you can only take a look at the buffet but guest are not allowed to get for themselves. The resort’s amazing dining staffs will ask for your choices and then deliver the food to your assigned table which you will use for your entire stay. The food choices is not really special BUT it taste really good! Kudos to the chef for turning normal/typical food gastronomically special! Oh, did I mention you can ask for more? Just call the attention of the dining staff who are always in the look out for any guests needing any items. The dining area gives you also a good view of the sea and the pool. The kind of service I got from the staff from Day 1 until Day 3 is very consistent. Always smiling, greeting, always there to lend helping hand whether in the dining area, reception area or the dive shop even the parking area. Also, the resort is well maintained and very clean.

Stay was comfortable. Rooms were spacious. Some guidelines felt constricting such as extra payments for additional towels, and large fines on stains on linens.
Staff was warm and operated well on their feet. Found ways to provide good service despite limitations like no kettles/water in each room = staff provided insulated tumblers/pitchers upon request.
Dive team was good, and rental equipment such as wetsuits and regulators were better than standard.
Rooms and facilities could still be upgraded considering the price per night.
Food was buffet style and was included with the payment. Food was decent and some dishes were quite tasty (beef sinigang).

Very nice resort with excellent restaurant and dive center staff. We stayed in Suite D4 which had a king size bed, couch and bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Our room was on the same floor as the dining area and it was just a few steps down to the pool and dive center.
The provided meals were delicious and never repeated. I was very pleased with the food taste and quantity.
The diving was excellent and the dive center took care of our equipment from the time we arrived until we left. The dive center had a nice camera room to work on things before and after the dive. Our DM and boat crew were top rate and made every trip enjoyable.
The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive and made the time spent in the restaurant and lounge deck extra pleasant.
I can’t say this is the best resort in Anilao, but it is the best I have stayed at and no longer need to look at another resort in Anilao. We have found the place for our return visits.

Casa Escondida offered a picturesque setting and a truly enjoyable experience. The resort's ambiance was serene and inviting, and the staff consistently demonstrated exceptional hospitality. The culinary offerings were a highlight, with a diverse and delicious buffet that catered to various palates.
However, certain aspects of the resort fell short of expectations. The standard rooms, while aesthetically pleasing, were rather compact, which might pose a challenge for longer stays or those with considerable luggage. Additionally, the firmness of the bed and the thinness of the provided blanket might not suit all preferences.
The resort's pricing is on the higher end, which might be a deterrent for budget-conscious travelers. While the inclusion of full buffet meals is a significant perk, the overall cost per person might require careful consideration. The dive center, while known for its professionalism, also presents a significant cost barrier, with dive trips being significantly more expensive than at other locations. The equipment available for rental is also a concern, with some pieces being outdated and limited in size, which could be a drawback for divers with specific needs.
Overall, Casa Escondida presents a unique blend of luxury and diving, with exceptional food and service. However, the limited room space, potentially uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, the high price point, the expensive dive trips, and the outdated equipment might not be ideal for all travelers. It's essential to weigh these factors carefully before making a decision.

Missing this place very much as it was my last overseas trip before the pandemic hit. There were only good memories! We had great dives, delicious food and clean rooms and I was really impressed by how the staff ensured everything still ran smoothly despite incessant ashfall. Hope we can go back soon!!

Charged too much for tiny things. P400 for flashlight. Average rooms are 22k (for 4 people). P50 for bowl of cereal thats not included in buffet and we serve ourselves. We were also yelled at for pcr tests when arriving. Overall it was an average place. Pool has algae. Waterfront is poor. Boats are small and primitive. Food is limited and barely average. There are lots better places that you can go in anilao. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Fantastic dives with our PADI instructor! Armando (Dong) Vergara was simply the best. Aside from teaching us how to dive, he also showed us everything possible under. Underwater is a totally different world. The dive resort itself was great. Food was perfect, and our rooms were spacious and clean, with a great view of the water. Staff was super friendly.
