Last year I got certified for both open water and advanced open water from this resort. Ofcourse with the required number of dives. Learning is essential to adequately fulfill your innerself with loads of knowledge to combat all the factors that you may encounter under the sea. I am glad I did my learnings in here. I am confident going underwater because I know what to do.. This returning visit, my brother learnt the basic of scuba diving, from zero to hero..he became confident with water. Mind you, most of my stays are awesome too because of the amazing food and comfortable bed to rest at night after a very tiring 4 dives. 😊

We booked this a long time prior to visiting and were not dissapointed for the 16 days we stayed there and managed 50 dives. Choy the sharp eyed dived master and boat crew were the best we have come across on our trips diving and made it all so easy getting what we wanted. The resort run by the lovely owners Carmela and Arnel is so relaxed and runs well without the need or desire to attract the great mass of overseas diving that we encountered on some dive sites. There is plenty of room to chill and it is quiet so if you do not want a noisy hotel then stay here. Stayed in a room with sun deck and views out and although only a fan it was comfortable bearing in mind we went at a hot time with water temperature at 30c. Ok , food was a little samey with white rice each day and only

This a a super laid back, very friendly place to hang out in and so not commercialised. The staff are great and they make you feel like your just another member of the family. Food is simple buffet and all home cooked - they even bake their own bread - it was all lovely. Staff even knock on your door to let you know when dinner is ready. Did my first introductory dive here and within an hour I was in the open water seeing turtles and loads of fish - all just just metres away from the resort. The dive masters are great and very professional. Daisy, the manager could not have been more helpful. As a Manila resident I am most definitely coming back to get PADI certified here. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a place off the beaten track and where you can

Whoever did the interior decorations did a great job at capturing the essence of island life. All the deck and lounge face the ocean giving you a great spot to laze around and watch the sunset. Very homey place. It was so homey that guests treat it like they're home and leave all their stuff just lying around, and their hotel room doors unlocked. For the dog lovers (like me), two friendly Labs; Bower and Tank will keep you company. The food/buffet is not that plenty but the cooking is really good especially if you like Filipino food (calamares are absolutely brilliant). Downside to Paradise... Hmmm... Not that many.. We went this summer and the room air-conditioning wasn't optimal. The bathroom towels are aquasorb, so if you're used to cotton texture, you won't like these.

Top Deck room. The view made the daily climb up the stairs worth it. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Sharing dive experiences and exciting information of the area. Food was fantastic, made me realise that we dont need international buffets to keep our tummies happy. Worth the price. Great sites for Macro divers.

Very homely resort with great food and rooms. Love their lounge and hammocks! View of the sunset was great. Rooms are clean. Got the seaside topdeck room which is very cooling without AC. Hot water needs some titration, but is reliable. Resort has its regular guests that visit over the weekends, speaks alot about the resort. Near to great dive sites, and awesome diving and guides. Owners carmela and arnel are very friendly, my friend did an advanced course which was well conducted. Resort manager daisy was helpful to arrange the transport to our next hotel in tagaytay, and from there to the airport.

Title says it all actually. Their website does not do justice to the place. They need more pictures, more descriptions, more testimonials... so that more people can find out what an amazing place this is! Overall an awesome experience for first time divers, and for more seasoned ones I'm sure. Shoutout to all the staff we encountered, from the boaters to the receptionist, to the owner and dive masters we were able to meet. Even to the cook of the buffet lunch! It was an excellent meal! Can I rate them with more than five? Is that possible? Anyway. Loved this place.

Portunalo feels completely separate from the real world, in the best way possible. It's incredibly isolated and only accessible by boat, which only adds to the ambiance of the cozy resort. I stayed in an ocean-facing room, which had a balcony just a few metres the sea. Despite visiting in the off season (myself and one other group were the only guests at the resort!) the staff were friendly and attentive. The resort had numerous loungers and common spaces with spectacular views overlooking the ocean. Of course, the highlight of the visit was the reefs. The snorkeling was fantastic just off the dock of the hotel, and the hotel offered numerous guided trips out to even more isolated reefs.

Came here for my sons open water qualifying dives with a group of friends. We had excellent tuition and guidance from Arnel and his dive masters and boat boys, thoroughly recommend coming here. Resort is well run, v clean and tidy and the food is pretty good. Snacks from 2-5pm helped the hunger - and went well with the pool and ping pong tournaments. Worth a trip here - try Pinnacle or Cavern dive sites and the amazing fish at the Sanctuary!
