A boutique resort in the more quiet side of what is popularly known as Anilao, Batangas. Portulano Dive Resort provides snorkeling and scuba diving services to Anilao/Mabini, Bauan, Tingloy popular dive sites. Wake up to the gentle sound of the waves with rooms directly fronting the sea with a bedside view of the ocean. It's a great place for both divers, non-divers having lots of private space to lounge and relax. Design and architecture is inspired by mediterranean colors accented by local materials and artistry.
This resort is very quaint. The resort is built around nature which makes you feel one with the water and the land. They make really good home baked breads. A bit pricey for diving but if you want to dive and lounge, this is a really good place to do that.

Not only was the diving surprisingly good but in all five dives we did my friend and I did not see a single other diver. The rooms are nice and comfortable though not luxurious. There is a small pool and several shaded hammocks and lounge chairs. The staff is friendly though one needs to ask to get your room cleaned or to get a fresh towel. When we arrived at the Portulano parking lot to catch the 10 minute boat ride to the resort the boat was not ready and we had to wait over 30 minutes. There are not facilities of any kind at the parking lot so it was not the most welcoming spot to wait. All in all Portulano is a quiet spot -particularly on weekdays when the weekend crowd from Manila is not there- and a good location to spend a few days diving.

The place is more rustic, rather than commercial like most resorts in Batangas. The owners, who are divers as well as artists are frequently there on weekends. Lots of place to hangout, lounge, and relax in. Sometimes you'd forget diving and you'd just want to lie down and relax. I love the long wooden tables they have, as they are great if you want to study, read, or sneak in a bit of work. Internet connection is also decent. The house reef is also great, with lots of opportunities for macro shots.

We only stayed for one night and two days of diving, the home itself can only be reached by boat so is so peaceful, I loved the basic rustic feel of the rooms and even tho they are simple I think a lot of thought had went into the style and decoration. We slept in one of the air conditioned rooms, room No.1 and what a view to greet us when we woke up. As the weather was a little choppy we were a little restricted as to what dives we did so managed two boat dives and one shore dive. Would love to venture a little further afield to see more next time, but all in all I couldn't find any fault. Daisy was helpful and the dive crew were also amazing and helpful. Food was excellent which is included in the price.

I've been to Portulano twice, and I'm already looking forward to my return. Both times, me and my companions received amazing service. The staff went out of their way to provide us with the best experience, even if they didn't have to. The first time I went, I forgot my booties at the dive center. Not only did they respond promptly, they also gave me options for the most convenient way for me to get it back. Arnel, the owner, offered to bring it with him to Manila, but since I didn't have time to meet up, Daisy, the resort manager, couriered it to me instead - free of charge! I was so impressed. It would have been so easy for lesser professionals to not bother returning it to me, or to do so at my expense. Instead, they provided me a service above and beyond what was called for…

Arlen, Carmela and their incredible staff provide a true oasis with a relaxed, down-to-earth waterfront resort completely isolated for a perfect get-away. It was my first time diving with my wife who has nearly 30 years of diving experience and I must say I was very spoiled to dive such a healthy and diverse coral reef. I was very nervous learning to dive and Arlen was the perfect instructor. The food was great and surroundings are not to be missed. Great for skin divers, snorkeling and scuba! Highly recommend Portulano Resort.

This happen to be my first time in the Philippines and I understand there are many hidden gems there. I have my friends recommendations to this private resort about 3 hours drive from Manila Airport. First glance to this resort base on online photos and the road trip, I wasn't expecting anything great until we arrive at the pick up pier to the resort. The pier with the transfer boat resting, it is simply beautiful to see. Perhaps this is a regular sight for the locals here but for us it is simply amazing. The boat ride takes around 10-15 minutes to arrive at the beautiful lagoon in front of Portulano. As someone who adores personalised service and rooms, this private resort isn't my regular resort to stay but the service which makes you feels like this is home is different…

We have just returned from 4 days at Portulano. Shabby chic describes the decor - love it. The accommodation is basic in that everything you need is there without unnecessary excesses - I like that too. Clean. The meals were great - more than enough and enough options. Healthy. I could not get enough of the mango smoothies. The staff? Outstanding. Attentive. Helpful, reserved but friendly, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Lovely people! We went scuba diving for the first time. Choy was our main instructor - particularly the practical skills - with Eric backing him up on the theory when Choy was called away to assist with one of the boat engines. Between Choy and Eric I was surprised by how comfortable and confident I felt (up until I arrived I was very non-committal…
