#1 of 4 hotels in Bauan
A boutique resort in the more quiet side of what is popularly known as Anilao, Batangas. Portulano Dive Resort provides snorkeling and scuba diving services to Anilao/Mabini, Bauan, Tingloy popular dive sites. Wake up to the gentle sound of the waves with rooms directly fronting the sea with a bedside view of the ocean. It's a great place for both divers, non-divers having lots of private space to lounge and relax. Design and architecture is inspired by mediterranean colors accented by local materials and artistry.

I went to Portulano solo to learn to dive on back to back weekends. Arnel had no problem that I was the only diver in his class for that first weekend and was a great instructor. For the solo traveler, the cozy eating and relaxation area allowed me to meet and interact with new people very easily and made my stay that much more enjoyable. I tagged along with a friend to another resort in Batangas a month later, and honestly felt I was getting ripped off in both value and fun....so I will definitely come back to Portulano for any future trips.

We stayed in Portulano January 5-8 2010: since it was low season for 2 days we were the only guests and we enjoyed the isolation of the resort (reachable by boat only) and were spoilt rotten! Everyone made us feel at home: owner Arnel and all the staff were very helpful and great company during our stay. The dives in the area are fantastic and we even hiked to the village at the top of the hill before an evening massage. Higly recommended!

Went to Portulano with my officemates (department-mates) for our summer outing. Location - 3 hours drive from Makati/Manila including Saturday morning traffic en route. We followed the guide in the resort's website on the best route to take. Nothing negative about the location as dive resorts do abound in Batangas. They have a private parking lot (or i think they borrow the space from a private individual) where you leave your car because you need to take a short boat ride to the resort itself and where your driver can stay for Php250/night including meals. Facilities - the dive resorts i've been to are basically no-frills places, but this one was very nice. They have landscaping! and great places to lounge with no plastic chairs in sight! All rooms face the water. We

Definitely a divers kinda place. A couple of hours away from Manila by car and surely worth the trip. Rooms were very nice & all rooms have an ocean view & nice balcony with seating. Enjoyed sleeping at night with the folding doors open but make sure that you take mosquito spray as there are plenty of them. Ceiling fan in room was just right for our cooling needs although the room does have a/c.. Stand up shower has cold water only but in the Philippines, who needs warm water anyway? :-) Make sure to take a small cooler with drinks and snacks because you are away from all resources of a city and are located in a secluded part of the beach. Did diving with Arnell, the owner and he was very accomodating with the dives as well as the night dive. Beautiful reefs and lots of

We do have hot shower available now, unfortunately during this visit in May 2009, we were undergoing renovation and heaters were not up yet. There was still construction going on, which explains mosquitos. Otherwise, no one has been bothered by any of that. Normally there aren't any, save for a few during the rainy season of Sept - Oct.
