Would never stay in this hotel again. The room was basic & I mean basic. Stayed well clear of the shower, the bath was very old & the grouting was black around the edge. Lino on the floor look very worn. Not worth the 65 euros we paid.
We stayed here because of the favourable reviews but experienced the worst stay ever in an hotel. On arriving at 5.00pm we found the hotel front door locked and had to wake the person who handled check-in. On finding our room we thought 'ok, functional' but from here on in it went downhill fast. Room walls are paper thin - you can hear your fellow guests as they engage in their various functions. None of the landings are carpeted - every outside footstep reverberates through your room. Bedroom doors are not fitted with dampeners - they just slam shut. There are almighty great gaps under doors from which landing lights provide a light show - on/off all night as people arrive and leave We had a room at the back of the hotel - which is used as a main entrance - this has a security floodlight which lights up your bedroom as well, every-time it is engaged - which was often. We gave up trying to sleep at 5.30am due to the excessive noise problems this hotel has - an headed for the tunnel asap. A complete waste of 60 euros; we will avoid this hotel like the plague next time.…
I have stayed here several times with my family this over the past few years, its a small but nice hotel 2 min's drive from the main motorway around Bordeaux, the rooms are spotless and the beds are very comfortable, the hotel is very quiet at night, just the thing after a 9hr drive from Alicante. Check in is hassle free and the staff are great even with my attempts at butchering their language. Price wise it is great and very reasonable especially with a family needing two rooms
We were travelling down to the south of France, and used this hotel as a stop over as it was just outside of Bordeaux and just off the motorway....I Usually stay in Etap type places, however this time there was not one where we needed to be. I would say this was comparable to an Etap on price and comfort, all be it the deco was a bit tired in places. The couple that ran it were very friendly and over all for a stop over it was fine. Just over the road from a supermarket to stock up for the next leg of the journey and a pizza resturant in walking distance. Breakfast was 7€ and probably a bit expensive, but they gave us two croissants each!!
Its not a 5 star hotel and my rating is based upon similar in the price range. An excellent clean , proper sized double bed and room with tv and bathroom. Run by the owners it probably has 16 rooms, well furnished and clean. The host/owners I presume are hands on and it shows, they are very pleasant and speak a little English. We arrived knackered after a long drivew from Bordeaux, came off the motorway a couple of KM and hey presto..no reservation. The town of Carbon Blanc is small but still has a few facilities, we enjoyed a very good meal at the only bar/restaurent with a bottle of good wine about Euro25 each. This we can also reccomend. Cant remember the name... but theres only one ! Breakfast typical continetal affair ... fine. This small hotel is ideal for a restful nights sleep after a long drive and is idealy suited for transit stopover.…
