Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
A great escape and such a beautiful relaxing place to unwind with friends, family, or even corporate gatherings. We enjoyed their delicious kilawen, fresh wild caught sashimi straight from the South China Sea, and their delicious crispy pata, to name a few. The staff was so polite, we even received a welcome letter which was such a nice way to start our vacation. A 15-20 min drive to San Juan, but this place offers tranquility if you are looking for a quiet getaway - Villa Estrella is your best bet along Bauang. Their lovely garden and beautiful trees keep the place nice and cool, and the option to dine by the sea or garden is also fantastic. Sunsets are beautiful. Rooms are spotless, comfy beds, and large rooms which makes a huge difference. I often find it challenging to fit luggage and be comfortable and in this establishment luggage in your room is not a problem since the rooms are massive. Definitely recommend especially if you are seeking a place that is serene, quiet with excellent food. They also have an indoor pool and a tennis court.

We stayed in Villa Estrella so I could show my kids the different beaches and waterfalls of La Union with their cousin.
Rooms were clean and large. Pillows were all fluffy, mattresses new and air conditioning was cold and crisp.
The food at the restaurant was surprisingly good with my kids devouring their excellent buttermilk fried chicken several times; ended up taking a whole chicken order for the ride home.
Service was good, efficient, yet unobtrusive.
Would return for all these things.

Best sunset view. Owner was very hands on . Staff were very courteous. Food was great and reasonably priced. Place was very clean and private. Plenty of parking space. Rooms and function hall were newly renovated. Will surely go back again😊

Bad quality, unkept and unhygienic. Avoid going and waste of money. Smells bad, there also was dropping of mice and rats around which seem to have gone unnoticed. Hotel seems to be run by a very odd management, unprofessional, unethical and illegal

We stayed in this hotel for business purposes and after check out, I have realized that I forgot to ask for the guest folio which is required for my liquidation. I have contacted the hotel via email and Vilma promptly replied to me with the scanned copy of my guest folio. This is a commendable action from their service staff. As for the hotel's location, it is a beachfront hotel so you can enjoy your free breakfast while enjoying the view of the sea. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also spacious and hot water is available.

We were very lucky to find this place after traveling to Bauang with a hotel booked and paid for for 5 nights we were so disappointed that after one night we had to move (Adriana see my other review)we found Villa Estella just a couple of hundred meters down the road and although nearly fully booked they managed to fit us in and we were totally made to feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble for the staff the restaurant was on the edge of the beach and of an evening the gentle waves just rolled up to the foot of the dinning area very reasonably priced clean comfortable friendly what more could you want spent 4 nights there over Christmas and would recommend 100% Nelie & Michael

People may think that it is a long way from home. But when you reach the place and see water splashing at the beach, wow you'll forget all the troubles on your shoulder. It is a very relaxing place. The rooms are very clean, the staffs are very accommodating and the food... gee whizz very affordable as well.

I admire the serenity. Our stay gave me enough rest, peace and quiet. The deluxe room is quite spacious for our family of 5, with two spacious beds that can comfortably accommodate two adults. The bathroom is clean and not cramp.
It might be a bit more costly than other resorts lined up along Bauang, but for comfort and strong wifi, it was worth it.
The beach part is often covered with sea water, thus, the splashing of strong currents on to the restaurant that is attached to the beach. So don't expect a leisure beach walk during high tide.
They have a small indoor pool, with clean cold water, as a small fountain by the wall circulates water into the pool.
I'm not impressed by their restaurant.
But overall, this resort serves its purpose, to give one a relaxing stay.

The facilities are still spic and span, exactly the way I remember it from the mid-2000s. We booked two rooms, one for me and the wife, one for the kids. Their rooms are huge for the price you pay for! It had two twin-sized beds, a powerful aircon, and a flat-screen TV. The design (the floor, the door, the closet, etc.) reminds me of my grandparents’ house in the 80s! =)
So in a nutshell:
PLUS: - The room was big and well-appointed for the price we paid. - The aircon units and the TV were relatively new. - The room has free WiFi, and as per my kids, it was working fine and was surprisingly fast. - The location was good, it was along the highway, easy to find, and somehow you still get a beach front just walking down from the hotel’s restaurant. - The staff in general were very friendly and provided hands-down very good service. They were expecting us when we arrived and they read all my requests from my Agoda booking. - The grounds were big, parking was aplenty. - They have an indoor/shaded pool that was a welcome addition from the Villa Estrella of the old days. The pool had a small jacuzzi as well. Something you can dip in as late as 10:00 in the evening. - Food is reasonably priced, and we were surprised many of the items were actually very good. Had a total of 4 meals in their restaurant while we were checked in. - Short drive to San Fernando City (5-10 minutes), where many popular restaurants are located, e.g. Shakey’s, Yellow Cab, Jollibee, Chowking, Gerry’s Grill, etc.
DELTA: - The bathrooms inside the guest rooms need to be updated: (a) tiles are broken, (b) shower faucet is hard to operate, (c) main bathroom door is hard to close; (d) exhaust fan is dirty, (e) water was ponding in the shower, takes time to drain down, etc. - The door knob of our room broke on our second day. We cannot open the door to go inside the room no matter how we tried. The maintenance person broke the knob, then consequently replaced it. We lost some 30-40 minutes watching over the replacement to be completed. And the resort would not even allow us to check out late to make up for the lost time. - The doors to the rear balconies have to be fixed/realigned. In our room, the dead bolt would not want to latch, at least the barrel bolt worked, but effort had to be exerted to close it. In the kids’ room, the door itself was difficult to close, it seemed out of alignment. Then the floor in the balcony of the room of the kids had water that already had green moss in it. Wonder when that was last cleaned.
As a conclusion, the resort has a beach front but the shoreline is really short. Then the sand is fine but is not white; albeit it was really smooth, there were no rocks or seaweeds in the area. Sitting in the restaurant gives you a very calming view of the sea. Really had no hard issues with the resort. Hope they upgrade their bathrooms though.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the City, you'll be recharged by the natural sound of the splashing of the sea beside the restaurant that does not charge too much for the good food. Or you may opt to try the indoor pool with hot water Jacuzzi. The room are very spacious with two king sized beds and good Wifi. My overall rating: VERY GOOD
