Casa Margaritha was amazingly beautiful, the services was spectacular, the room was clean, spacious and the ocean view was phenomenal, everything was well kept and the food was exceptional. Gordon and Marites were friendly and hospitable. We had an amazing time. We decided to have our son's wedding at the facility and all arrangements were handled to our satisfaction.

We recently spent 5 nights at Casa Margaritha and were thoroughly impressed with the accommodations and the owners, Gordon and Marites. The resort is only 10 minutes from the airport and located away from all the traffic and noise in Dumaguete. The rooms are spacious, the food was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to help us. The resort grounds are very well kept and the pool was relaxing. We definitely plan to return.

Some minutes from Sibulan ferry terminal,we found this small nice resort. We have stayed there three nights. If you want to relax and swim in a pool, this is the place. Gordon the owner is very service minded and a funny guy. You can have your meals in the resort, limited menu though. The rooms are nice, beds are good.

I stayed here one night in transit to the south. The casa is about 15 mins from the airport to the north of the city. The rooms (only 3) are spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff local staff are great and super friendly. The free wifi works well. I liked being able to sleep peacefully without city traffic noise (a major issue downtown because of the constant tricycle noise). If you need to go into the city the Casa can arrange transport. Highly recommended

Although the house itself is pleasant, this is a very poor choice of location. The house is not on the beach, as I had imagined given that there was an 'ocean view' room, but on the other side of the road, with the main view being an ugly concrete party hall/resort. When an outdoor party is in progress you have no escape from the cheesy disco music/karaoke.The view from the 'garden view' room is a dusty courtyard with a shack belonging to the neighbours. The beach itself is really awful - covered with the natural debris brought up by the tide along with all kinds of other rubbish - bottles, shoes etc - I was hesitant to walk through it in sandals. The sea water is a greyish brown colour with floating rubbish - it would never have entered my head to swim in it. There is nowhere to walk and it is a pain to get in and out of - local taxis don't always want to pick you up and can't find their way back. Food is good but small portions and you have no choice but to eat here. There is really no reason to stay here unless you want to sit by a pool and do nothing. To the south, in Dauin, things are much nicer, it is easier to visit the sights and do activities and it is really only about 20 minutes more to get there from the airport.

a late review. we went here last dec. 18-20 day after the strong typhoon hit the Visayan region. it was far the main city of negros orriental. we thought at first we chose the wrong place to stay because it was situated in an almost secluded area. BUT we we're VERY wrong because as soon as we get inside a warm accomodation awaits us. Even if we arrived ( 6AM ) before the check-in time they have accepted us and let us enter and use our room. they served a complimentary breakfast too. we enjoyed our room. big and cozy. the only thing we dont like are the bed covers that are used as a blanket too. too small and it has a nylon-y texture. breakfast are great and they made calls (for the habal-habal- motorcyle ) whenever we want to go somewhere. we stayed here for almost 3 days and we still want to go back. next time we'll request for a more comfortable blanket. :)

The casa Margaritha has large, clean rooms and a swimming pool right outside, but it is not really a hotel as it doesn't provide any service other than a room and breakfast. The staff were very friendly but it was seemed to be difficult to arrange transport from the Casa Margaritha into Dumaguete town. It is located just outside Sibulan and there is nothing in the area. When we wanted to eat lunch or dinner we had to arrange transport to take us 20 minutes into town and on a couple of occasions this was a problem. Breakfast could not be served before 8:30 and in reality it was after 9am before we could eat food, this was a bit of a problem for our two small children who were very hungry by this time.

We came across the Casa Margarita by coincidence, because the other hotel was in renovation, and were very, very positively surprised - it's a quit, small place, with only two rooms, but very elegant, and the food is just about the best we had in six weeks Philippines. And it's nice to have private swimming pool sometimes :)
