Had always been reluctant to travel to Mindanao as I had always held in my mind images of a place where foreigners were preyed upon and made targets of. Man was I wrong. Landed at the Almont and talk about a pleasant hotel stay… After some confusion at the airport where the hotel shuttle didn’t pick me up, a quick call to the hotel and that was resolved. The hotel paid for a taxi ride to the hotel. The room was more than adequate for one person, with sufficient furnishings. The bathroom left a little to be desired as there was no shower door and water was splashing everywhere. Also the sink had very, very, very low water pressure. My room had no view but that was fine as I didn’t have to deal with any outside noise.TV cable had decent cable offerings and the hotel Wi-Fi was stable fast. The location is ideal as one can walk just as easily to SM Mall as one can the shops and eateries of the surrounding area. The hotel staff is friendly and courteous, and the restaurant throws together a fine dinner menu. Oh, and when having breakfast, make sure to have Toto whip up a stack of his pancakes. They are disgustingly good. Will definitely stay at the Almont again.…
Been eager to visit Butuan City lately and since I have heard a lot of good reviews about Almont City Hotel, I opted to stay with them. What I love about about Almont City Hotel is the spacious rooms and most of all, the warm reception that you always get from their super friendly staff.
The location is good, situated right at the heart of Butuan, plenty of eatery around and close to the SM mall. However, the suite room i had - was not that of an impress, the bathroom had a musty smell and the shower had steel-like smell. Air-conditioning leaking and the only solution i had from the management was 3 towels on the floor - not even bother to find the way to fix it. Personally - 2600 peso is just too expensive for this. My recommendation is to go to another Almont hotel which is 10 minutes away - newer and should be better than this
Stayed here for a week with family , we payed the bill on arrival and after checking our initial booking saw we had been overcharged , when this was later brought up , the hotel admitted their mistake and refunded the difference . The rooms are in need of some repair , lamps loose on walls showing exposed wiring , loose locks on the door ,toilet looked like it could have done with a proper clean prior to welcoming any guests to the room. Poor supply of towels (very old and worn) and other amenities , household would supply on request . We had breakfast included in our package , informed waiter of same , after breakfast he returned to say two of the breakfasts we ordered were not included on their free breakfast menu . I would say language was a barrier but we had two locals in our group , the waiter was basically still on training . We paid for those two just for a quiet life . Breakfast selection is poor in general but it’ll keep ya going till lunch . Pros of the hotel was good air con in the room and hot water in the shower . I’m only upgrading to two stars for the quality of the air con.…
Me and my partner chose Almont City Hotel because aside from the fact that this Hotel is known to provide great service, Almont City has a very accessible location compared to the other hotels in Butuan City. Our stay was undeniably amazzziiiinggggg. Their suite room was huge and clean. Beds were well arranged as well. What else can i say? The staff of Almont City Hotel were very polite and accommodating. Want to enjoy and relax ? Then choose this hotel. Every penny is worth the quality of this hotel.
The location of the hotel is very accessible to nearby fast food restaurants and some convenient stores for quick eats and buys. The room is comfortable, but needs improvement on sound ventilation as conversations outside the hotel can be heard, much more louder noise. The water heater of the shower needs improvement, too - takes quite a while for the heater to work; parking may also be a challenge. But one thing is for sure - internet is very reliable!
The staffs are approachable and the customer service is very impressive. My friends and I took the family room with 4 bunk beds, AC, television, hot and cold shower for the price of P1730 plus FREE YUMMY BREAKFAST(4 person). The room is cleaned every day so if you don't want to let them see your undies, you better hide them. Hahaha Hotel's furnitures and designs are vintage. In front of the hotel is the Guingona Park and on the left side is the Church. If you want to see beautiful sunrise, the Magsaysay bridge is just nearby. Banks, restaurants, ticketing office are accessible as well.
I picked the Almont City Hotel for my first ever trip to Butuan City because of its room rate and location. The trip was personal and I figured we will be going around the city and its spots most of the time. Hence, location to and from the center must be highly considered. Indeed, it was a good choice. Right around the hotel are quaint cafes, church, public park, police station and center of transportation. I also commend the staff who are friendly and helpful. It feels safe to be staying at Almont. Plus, the room and facilities are clean and well maintained.
Since the hotel was in my hometown, I never really paid attention to it. I frequently passed outside its door without even having to peek inside. However, my weekend with the barkada changed my perception. The service of the crew definitely exceeded our expectation for our so-imagined ordinary long weekend gathering. The crew were very approachable, and accommodating. Not to mention the classy reception ambiance, the spacious rooms and the sumptuous breakfast that we had. This marks the real service we should be looking for this kind of hotels. It was a money well spent! 💕
Super welcoming staff, great location, modern decor, clean, spacious. A lovely surprise! I will definitely stay there again and have already recommended to friends. Although I didn't have enough time, the restaurant and room service menu also looked very good and room rates are great!
