Room was ok kettle and a fridge although fridge was warm no tea in the room just a couple of sachets of sweet coffee powder We decided to have an evening meal because it was getting late for the children . No child meals , and only filipino food served , I picked 3 dishes off the menu all were not available! So choice was very poor . , breakfast was the same ,only filipino food and only coffee no tea. Poor selection of juice . Only up side was the nice pool . . If your not filipino and like a variety of food. give the place a miss

The Grand Palace Hotel was a real let-down, starting with not living up to what they say. They claim to provide tea & coffee in the rooms, but there's no tea. Their web site says they have an airport shuttle, but they don't. Breakfast was disappointing too. Only 2 juices. Luckily one was usually pineapple. As well as the usual lukewarm breakfast items, they had some random cakes that were as bland as cardboard. Fortunately, you can walk through the Annex, cross the road and a few metres to your right is a bakery that sells doughnuts for 6 pesos that are vastly better. The hotel has guards with assault weapons and dogs. Seems pretty ridiculous and unsafe. Also the dogs spend most of their time living in cages alone next to the swimming pool. I had two bookings here, the first in a big king room. (They call it a "matrimonial" room!) The WiFi mostly didn't work. It's totally inadequate for the number of people who use it, especially if a big business group comes in for a conference during the day. (The DHCP server just runs out of addresses and you can't connect until someone else disconnects.) Even when it connected, it wasn't very fast. One other issue I had was the appearance of cockroaches every so often. The small single room was a vast improvement, as well as being half the price. While the single rooms have no windows, they have two massive advantages. Firstly, fast WiFi that works. The single rooms are in a hall behind the reception area and have their own access point that works brilliantly and isn't overloaded. Secondly, the small room doesn't have so many places for roaches to hide. I didn't see a single insect intruder. Note for those who might be confused by this site: The information and reviews on this page are for the Butuan Grand Palace Hotel. There is also an Annex. Tripadvisor currently has the headings swapped.

Lovely hotel, huge bedroom, very friendly staff, restaurant superb. Excellent value for money. I stayed here for 10 nights and would love to return. The WiFi is good and fast when it's working, although most of the time it worked, just the odd time it was down

Clean and spacious room, cold airconditioning, the breakfast was splendid, staff were very accommodating. Highly recommended. All of this for a very reasonable price. We will definitely stay here again when we visit or pass by Butuan City.

The hotel was nice, the food was okay, the room was adequate, the pool isn't so great either, and the staffs are not as I expect them to be. overall, the palace isn't so grand after all. it took me two visits to this hotel to notice it all. They could do something to the food to make it look/taste better; they could give the pool area a better scene and feel; I don't think they could do anything about the room anymore, instead, they should train the staff more to be more hospitable and accommodating to give the palace a more "grand" feel. Not bad for a hotel in Butuan. I would still recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one night only. The room was okay. But the showers pressure was too weak. Food was okay. The staff was friendly and helpful. In check and out check very good no problem at all. Near too the Robinson mall.

For the record, I am now staying here 6/25/19. The room they gave me is just fronting the elevator and doesn't have adequate sound proofing to filter noisy, laughing, sneezing, coughing guests coming in and out of the elevator lobby! I asked to be transferred to another room but fully booked. I just came from a 7 hour drive from Davao and wanted to get a good rest but alas I couldn't get a single wink. Don't care if it's an expensive suite room so long as I can get a quiet and good rest! To the management of Butuan Grand Palace, hope you can look into this asap! I am here checked-in in your hotel and really pissed off!

The hotel itself having great rooms, even the single room is good, I stayed there many times, good and clean swimming pool, Not really good breakfast. Staff is nice but not well trained. Rooms are clean and spacious with required facilities. The management can improve the services but they are always busy and they don't have time to listen to the comments.

Stayed just one night before flight back to Manila. Booked 3 rooms. 2 twin beds and a deluxe suite. Security was heavy at the hotel and our luggage was even checked by snifer dog before it was allowed into the hotel. We had to pass through airport style security entrance. All rooms were extremely clean. The suite was extremely spacious with large bathroom with shower and separate bath. The twins were spacious too with each ensuite shower and toilet. Had dinner in restaurant with our guests. Food was reasonable in quality. Ordered multiple dishes to share. Was only spoilt by one of the dishes being brought out late as by the time it was on the table we had nearly finished. For this reason and that there was a noisey wedding party queued up waiting to access the function room next to the dining area, which meant for the first 20 minutes we could not hear ourselves talk I have down rated to 4 star. Another small issue was that as we had to leave before breakfast for our flight, the packed breakfast was not ready to take as ordered for 5am. However, the quality of the hotel compared to other establishments locally needs to be appreciated. The 2 little pools were very good and we will definitely look to book again the next time we are in Butuan City. Hopefully the hotel will speed up function arrivals and the food delivery to the restaurant. Then it might be truly 5 star.
