We took a minor detour on our holiday to stay here and it certainly proved worth it. We only stayed for the night but there really wasn’t any need for us to leave once we arrived. We were blessed with very decent weather which made the setting even more impressive but put simply the scenery was spectacular from every angle. With only a handful of rooms our stay was extremely peaceful and we had no objection to occupying ourselves for a number of hours around the pool, which we pretty much had to ourselves. The room was extremely spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable; not entirely sure why the hotel hasn’t been judged to be Five Star. The staff were extremely accommodating; nothing was too much trouble and they were gracious enough to allow us to hang around by the pool for a couple of hours after we checked out. On top of this, dinner was fantastic (I would recommend turning up on an empty stomach as it was a colossal five course meal). In short, we had a terrific time and wished we could have stayed for longer.…
We stayed at this hotel with our cycling group. Overall it's a great little hotel overlooking some vineyards located just a few hundred feet from the Italian border. The hotel has a great little restaurant and a very impressive wine cellar. The rooms are big - they had a separate living room and a bedroom in ours. There was a kettle and a coffee maker on our floor so we could make ourselves some tea. There is an unheated outdoor pool which sits above the ground with a few lounge chaises next to it. In a typical Slovenian fashion the doors are locked at night and you need a card to get inside. As usual the guests make half of the hotel impression. The highlight of ours was a drunk British guy who lost his card and was yelling loudly to let him in in the middle of the night. I felt a bit sorry for people at the reception because they were friendly and accommodating and didn't deserve this treatment. On a negative side WiFi barely worked in the rooms. I think they had simple signal repeaters and not a full mesh network - needs improvement…
Beautiful inn in Brda wine country. Truly a picturesque location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant excellent. The room was well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend!
Gredič is definitely worth visiting. Rooms are very clean and well designed, staff is extremely friendly especially Nina at the reception. She made our experience even nicer. Always there if u wanted a glass or a bottle of wine and always professional and frinedly. Don’t forget to reserve a seat at the dinner which is exceptional by the way. Wine tastings are also a must!
Very kind employees with professional attitude and very responsive. They gave me all the information needed, they responded to my e-mails very quickly. The food is angelic, delicious, I really cannot over-praise it. Rooms are exceptionally confortable, clean, with great views. The nature is magnificent. I strongly recommend it! We will definitely do it again, I hope very soon!
What a breathtaking place! I had been to the wine cellar a few times and always dreamt of spending the night at the hotel—it’s stunning! A beautiful old chateaux-turned-boutique-hotel with a turquoise pool. When I finally got the chance to stay, I was not disappointed. The views from our room were just spectacular, with hills and vineyards as far as the eye could see. It is set in a peaceful and reclusive location—perfect for disconnection, but still close enough to amenities that it’s convenient. They have an excellent selection of wine and serve it with a smile and lots of knowledge about it. The staff was kind and friendly and anticipated our needs perfectly. I can’t wait to stay here again—next time for a little longer!
This hotel has 7 rooms and it is only couple of hundred meters from Italian border. It is renovated with attention to detail and the service is impeccable. Although there was a group of women that were celebrating something at the hotel and were quite noisy when at the pool, our stay was pleasant. Breakfast was good, although coffee could be better. Hotel has a separate terrace for hotel guests that features a photogenic pool overlooking the hills. Vila Vipolže is a quick walk away. Prices of drinks and food were normal (cheese platter was 10eur for 2 and very good). It is perfect for couples. We will be back. Hotel also has amazing wine celler and they can arrange you various wine tastings.
We were stunned when we drove up to this beautiful boutique hotel, it really is something special. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was very modern and convenient, bed was also very comfortable. Relaxing by the pool while overlooking the vineyards was pure bliss, especially with a glass of wine from the magnificent cellar in hand. There is also a terrace, where you can spend your evening. We felt right at home and loved the decor of the place. Sadly, we had some issues. The biggest one was the aircon. The system in the room does not work properly. We set it to the lowest temperature, but it was still boiling hot in our room so we could barely sleep. When we asked about it, they said the aircon was inside the walls and didn’t work that well. We got a better fan than the one that was standard, but it leaked water. When we signalled that, the lady brought an extra towel, shrugged her shoulders and hoped for the best. Breakfast was on the small side, but good quality. First day they offered us coffee and asked if we wanted eggs, the next day we were ignored. So we asked for coffee, which didn’t seem to please the only staff member hovering around the buffet. Maybe it wasn’t his job, but there was no one else available. And they didn’t ask if we wanted eggs that time, while they did ask other guests. If everything would have worked properly and if the service had been better, it would have been heaven. Sadly, this was not totally the case.…
We went to do the wine tasting with a group of people coming from different countries but all in love with the Slovenian wine. The only big plus of the tasting was the wine itself - extremely good and we've experienced some good wine tasting in Slovenia before. But the waiter or sommelier or whoever he was put absolutely no effort in explaining something more than what wine we're drinking, from which producer, which year and what taste should we fell - he poured the wine and left for 10 or 15 minutes. No communication whatsoever. He could sell much more wine if at least he would make some conversation with us. It was really a pity.
This was a surprise. Converted chateau overlooking farms and vineyards of Slovenia. The rooms and hotel are modern and very comfortable. Food was just great. Massive wine cellar which you can walk through below the hotel lobby. Really enjoyed my short stay here.
