We had an awesome experience on our trip at Caramoan. Casita Mia is a nice place to stay with. Staff are so accommodating, food is great. I would recommend it to my friends. It feels like you’re at home. Going back there, for sure.

Our family of 4 went on a 6-day trip around the Bicol province, traveling using our family van, and planned the last 2 and a half days to be in Caramoan, CamSur. After spending time in Albay, we drove to Caramoan from Legaspi via the Tiwi-Tigaon-Goa-Presentascion route. We were subjected to a lot of stress and anxiety, as we travelled for almost 8 hours straight, the last 3-1/2 hrs in darkness and steep mountainous terrain due to at least 30 km of rough/dirt road that slowed us down. There was a portion of that route where we were momentarily stuck - the wheels our van half buried in mud! After all these ordeal, we finally reached Caramoan at around 8 pm, but didn't know where to find Casita Mia. We called the front desk via mobile and asked for direction. Much to our surprised, the front desk lady came to meet us and escorted us to the hotel. They've quickly showed us to our room, helped us with our stuff and arranged dinner (hot meal). It felt like they were our 'extended' family - genuine and personal. The room we stayed was clean and had good size, we even had 2 extra pillows, which I used to help me sleep better after a long and stressful drive. Next day, they helped us arrange an island hopping tour which we really enjoyed, and took us to some local shops to buy souvenirs.

Our experience with Casita Mia turned out to be the 'Saving Grace', as it turned around our almost disastrous road trip mishap into an eventual memorable and enjoyable stay in Caramoan.

I've visited Caramoan Islands and the accommodation was at Casita Mia
Bed and Breakfast, in Camarines Sur.

I liked the place from the very first beginning, they have a very nice yard where you can lay in the sun, and a covered terrace to serve meals there.
The staff was kind, smiling all the time and ready to help with my requests.
The room had a comfy bed, and what i really enjoyed most was the AC, working surprisingly good, the room temperature was very cool, and that really helps when its so hot outside like it's there.

You can arrange rides to the beach, or any other place by simply asking at the front desk and they'll call someone for you; with little money as 100php/ person(we were 6) we went to the beach and back(and the driver waited for us there all the time).
They serve good food, prepared there, and you can go by walking in the center of the town at the local market to buy fresh fruits and specific local foods. They have a wifi connection, its poor, just in certain places like front desk space but you don't need to lose time on the internet in such a beautiful place.

I recommend accomodation here, i think its a comfortable and clean place.

Booked for 2D2N, Dec. 27-29. Due to the destruction wrought by typhoon Nina, we weren't able to go to Caramoan. The road to Caramoan from Naga was blocked by fallen electricity poles and uprooted trees and there were threats of landslides. I cancelled on the 27th while we were still stuck in traffic in Naga.

I talked to Azeth, the person in charge at the front desk, asking if I could get a refund for Dec. 28-29 (I paid a downpayment of 40% for both days). I cancelled on the 27th so they can already receive guests for 28-29, she said the downpayment was already forfeited and she said that guests already arrived on the 28th. I asked if they didn't refund under any circumstance and if she could give me contact details for their manager. She said no and didn't give me any details about her manager.

I booked in good faith, not knowing that a category 5 typhoon would strike. I asked for a refund for the booking for Dec. 28-29, a full day after I cancelled and a day that they can already receive other guests. I wouldn't have cancelled our booking hadn't Nina struck and dealt that much destruction. This is no way to treat guests who actually tried to go but weren't able to because the road to Caramoan wasn't passable.

Will obviously not return and will absolutely tell others not to book here.

The photo is of a Petron station in Naga. Consider what the road to Caramoan looked like on the 27th of December.

The staff are courteous. I was impressed we were picked up even though it was quite late. The food tasted good. Except with our island hopping,d pork that was grilled had more fat than lean meat. Also, i hope that the host itself can give us advise with regards to road repairs & complete details on their port. Seemingly they do not know that there were 2 ports , one private & one public. A bit confusing when we took the public transpo...d boat is so hot and loaded so many passengers. I do not think if it is being regulated by the coastguard. D boat has no door & we have to pass thru d window. The places are good but i dont think that it is travel friendly.

Responded May 24, 2014
Dear Arlene A, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy that you are satisfied with the service of our staff and food. We will take note of your concern with the meat that was served during your island hopping tour. Regarding your concern on the boat trip to Caramoan, we understand that there is much to be improved with the port and boats that service passengers from Sabang to Caramoan. Last year, there used to be a Ro-Ro (which is more comfortable) that serviced passengers from San Jose port to Caramoan, however this trip was discontinued by the operator of the Ro-Ro. What we can assure you is that we always relay our guests' feedback to the Local Tourism Office of Caramoan. Your concern about the port & boats going to Caramoan will be shared to the Local Tourism Office of Caramoan so that measures can be taken to ensure that the the trip to Caramoan will become safe and travel-friendly. Best regards, Candice

Casita Mia was actually our second option of accommodation in Caramoan; but since it was a peak season when we got there and our first option was fully booked, we decided to stay in this newly built b&b. Considering that it was quite new, I have already read many good reviews about it. Upon arrival, I immediately thought that we were lucky to be staying here. The place wasn't crowded, rooms were spacious for groups, and they were very much welcoming. Lunch was prepared for us when we arrived, room services and requests were immediately attended. Wifi is only available in the reception. They turn it off at night, but keeps it on upon guest's request. We just realized that the place was also almost fully booked later in the evening and early the next morning. The staffs coordinate and manage guests' schedules well so we won't look crowded in the common areas. And by the way, every meal prepared for us daily was a variety. They even ask us for special requests. The food were perfectly satiating and joyful to the palate. It has been a home to us, as we were also able to prepare our own dishes with permission from the chef and the management. Since we obtained some fresh seafood from the island hopping tour we did. Location was okay, as you won't need anything from the town anymore. It was hidden and peaceful. Glad to have stayed here. Will not replace staying here to any other accommodations anymore. And it's worth every penny. Highly recommended! :)

We booked our trip to Caramoan via a tour operator. After waiting for 5 hours in Sabang to catch the boat ride to Caramoan, we were welcomed by our tour guide in 2 tricycles - to think that we were a family of 8 and it was drizzling when we arrived. So naturally, everyone got wet on the way to Casita Mia Bed & Breakfast.

When we arrived in Casita Mia, we were welcomed graciously by no less than the owner. We were served welcome drinks and some finger foods. Upon checking in, I found out that our tour operator booked us only 2 rooms (while rooms of Casita Mia can only accommodate maximum 3 per room), so imagine our horror of having to squeeze in 4 adults in a room that is comfortably meant for 2 people only. Thank God the owner was there and saw our predicament, so she gladly offered us a third room free of charge.

As we went on our way to go island hopping, the staff of Casita Mia handed us a large lunch box for our meals, that was neatly prepared. The meals were delicious as well. The island tours were the highlight of the trip, given the beauty of each island we visited.

When we returned from island hopping, we got to talk with the other guests of Casita Mia who booked their tour package directly (instead of via tour operator), and we found out that the staff of Casita Mia helped them with travel arrangements to Caramoan and gave them valuable tips so that they did not have to wait for hours in Sabang port. Since they also had direct contact with the staff, they were able to request for adjacent rooms, which I find convenient when traveling with family.

Other than the inconvenience of the travel arrangements to Caramoan, which is the fault of the tour operator, our stay in Caramoan and in Casita Mia Bed & Breakfast was a wonderful one.

I’d definitely recommend Casita Mia to my friends, and recommend that they book the tour package directly rather than going through a tour operator.

We availed of their 3D2N package which included our accommodation, transfers to and from the port, 2-day island hopping tour and the meals for the entire duration.

We arrived late on the first day and didn't get to do 1st part of the island hopping tour. So we squeezed the supposedly 2-day tour to one day, which was totally fine with us because we didn't really spend too much time in one island. It was peak season so the more popular islands were pretty crowded. The boatmen were also very accommodating. Probably, after realizing that we didn't like the big crowd very much, they took us to a more secluded beach which was still surrounded with a beautiful rock formation.

The hotel staff are the best! Considering that we went there during peak season and that they were fully booked during our stay, they remained in tune with the needs of their guests. Food were served on time and requests were accommodated promptly. They simply thought of everything! There's no need to worry about anything else once you get there.

The package we got from the agency included the pick up, tour and hotel with breakfast and dinner (needless to say, we got king crabs). We got this booked because it has good reviews and it is still new. Though it is far from the town. I can still recommend this place. It is neat, clean and peaceful perfect for vacation.

Stayed here for 3D2N over the long weekend and I'm honestly wishing we stayed longer. Staff were super attentive and friendly. They're very knowledgeable about the typical tourist itinerary, and are able to make really good suggestions if you're not quite sure where to head first.

Also, the food was really really good. Great timing too - food was always ready to be served warm every time we'd arrive from our island tours.

Make sure to book your tours directly from Casita Mia like we did. Their packages include island tours already so save yourself the hassle of haggling and looking for a boatman by the port. This makes things so convenient especially for first-time travelers like us.

Relatively new B&B, so you can be sure that it looks modern (most modern-looking hotel that I saw when we were going around town), clean, spacious and well-maintained. Will stay here again the next time I visit!
