Overall, place was great. It was huge and peaceful, loved the greens. The food was good. Only things that bothered me were the very bad wifi connection. It was somehow understandable given that Caramoan wasn't that commercialized yet so I could let that go. Another thing was the frog in the pool. We didn't notice we had a companion until we were done swimming. Not really a fan of frogs here especially those bathing with you in the pool ugh. Anyway, I'd still recommend this place toy my friends :)

Spent a night here on my 2nd day stay in Caramoan. This resort is well equipped in that it has a pool right smack in the middle of the whole compound, a lovely laid back bar where u can enjoy a few shots of whiskey over a good read overlooking a branch off waterway to the sea itself. The compound is big and the rooms come in different sizes - twins, trios & quad sharing. The rooms r clean & comes with heater, airconditioning, telly with HBO. The dining area is clean & can accommodate quite a number of guests. The food is prepared by the cooks & is usually a combination of both western & local dishes. Though the resort is beautifully furnished, was quite disappointed that there's no generator operator to assists whenever there's a blackout. Spent the entire night in total darkness w/o ac & no telly on from abt 9.30pm onwards!. One of the staff was helpful enough to loan a torchlight for us to use in the room. Average price for twin is abt Php 2500. I believe its better to stay in this place over the weekends when its crowded with tourists from both the locals & foreigners. Weekdays are a total different story altogether - my stay over here was on a thursday. This place is perfect for families with children(pool & playground) ... weekends only. On weekdays, the service level needs improvement.

Stayed on 22-29 December with my family and friends of 28. Ate Glenda was very accommodating in arranging with the package deal. The resort is well kept and beautiful. They have a swimming pool (about 5feet at the deepest) which is good for the kids and during the 2 days we got stuck in the resort and cannot go island hopping due to bad weather. The resort is near the Bikal port where the boats for island hopping are docked. If the tide is high enough it is possible for the boats you have arrange to pick-up at the back of the resort where there is a river and the boat can also bring you back the same way also. They have a videoke but be careful, it eats your P5 coins sometimes. They also have a small billiard table and a some barbell weights for those who likes to exercise. They have some exercise equipments but seems not working. The dining area is big enough to accommodate many people. Food is good. Filipino dishes. The rooms assigned to us were clean and simple and comfortable enough. Some have 3 and 4 beds. The beds are soft enough and not too hard. Towels, a soap, and a roll of tissue in each room. Air-conditioned and tiled floors. The toilet have an electric water heater, a small sink and mirror above it. The toilet seats were all broken though. I should mention my thanks to Ate Myrna for her friendliness and attention and to all the staff who were patient and helpful with our crowd. I suggest that they should ask their guest to signed anything they ordered at the dining hall every time so as to avoid confusion and miscalculations. I do not wish to offend but the boat arranged for us was not fair with us that is why I personally arrange with Kuya Ramil instead and Kuya Antek is also a good boatman to his passengers. Overall, I am satisfied with Rex Tourist Garden and we had a good healthy fun during our stay in Caramaon. My family and friends wish to give our thanks to Rex Tourist Garden Inn.

The main reason we chose Rex was how the resort looked at the photos, landscaping and all, mind you - it didn't disappoint when we already got there, it's just as pretty as the photographs. Also, the rate provided by their resort manager, Ms. Glenda, who's by the way, really easy to talk to (although she doesn't respond right away at times, maybe because of the crappy signal). So, resort landscape - 5/5, check!
Next we go on, to the rooms. There's this one area of a 2-storey structure consists of several rooms (they have a lot of rooms scattered all over the vast area of their property), initially they offered us one or two rooms on the 2F, then one at the GF. One of two rooms on the 2F was very spacious, with a personal fridge and a shower with water heater, if only we're that selfish we - me and my husband would have opted to stay in that room, but hey, it's not at all fun. So we all decided to have our rooms on the GF, very basic rooms - bed, tv (non-cable), electric fan, aircon, bathroom (minus the water heater), nothing posh. But when you're in Caramoan, believe me, you're only gonna be needing your room to sleep in, not really big of a deal whatever your room looks like or has to offer. Additionally, we didn't bring towels with us, borrowing of towel will cost you PHP100.00/towel, and is refundable. :) In the rooms, were toilet paper roll and a mini bath soap, not sure if they will also provide other essentials such as shampoo, toothpaste, etc. (we brought ours, so we didn't bother to ask since it's only minimal). Another thing, the AC which you can only turn on during night time (still - no big deal when you're in Caramoan), and the water supply, because of the crappy water system (province-wide, totally not the resort's fault), and they are helpful enough to fetch water for their guests. Rooms - 4/5, check!
Second thing we considered in choosing Rex Caramoan Garden, was their rate for the All-in package tour (accommodation; meals - breakfast, lunch dinner; island hopping tours; tour guide; land transfers; boat ride). Value for money - 5/5, check!
Food - I mean, come on, however beautiful the place is, one can never-ever be satisfied without scrumptious food! To regain all the lost energy from the day's activities. Okay, do not expect anything lavish - we did not, considering the rate, but what you can expect, again, is the value for your money, I, myself, can assure you, they serve quality delicious dishes, if not enough - more than enough for everybody in the group (unless you eat like us - hungry monsters, but still - whatever they served, filled up all the empty spaces in our bellies). Food, there's no question - 5/5, check!
*Other added bonus -Friendly and helpful resort staff, including our very hospitable and patient tour guide Kuya Jun (highly commendable) - especially on Matukad Island, no I'm not gonna spill out why, just go and visit the place! -The resort has a pool! YEY! We were able to enjoy this amenity - so much! -Fast internet (wifi) connection - this we did not expect, however, never failed us during the whole duration of our stay. :) :) :) Very happy about this one.
Over-all, yes, I'm well aware that there are other budget-friendly yet also IG-worthy resort/hotel accommodation out there. WELL, HELLO, we booked and stayed at Rex Caramoan Garden, and this review IS ALL ABOUT - REX CARAMOAN GARDEN. And, we, I, positively-absolutely recommend that you (if you're in the middle class, like us, if you know what I mean) go ahead and check out what they can offer you. :)

Stayed here on a recent family trip and did a day tour of the islands! I have done a bit of travelling in my time and I'm pretty sure I went to heaven - from the second we arrived till we left we were taken care of! Food was excellent, staff spoke very good English, rooms were clean and tidy! Pool area was lovely. Great place to stay for a day trip around heaven.

Our travel package was well planned. We covered 8 islands in two days. The resort was quiet and right beside a swamp where we board our boats for island hopping. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly. They can pick up guests from Naga airport and back to airport after the tour for hassle free travel. Caramoan has excellent white sand beaches comparable to boracay..

When we were told that our company outing will be in Caramoan, all us were excited! Even if we learned that traveling to and from caramoan would be like "thy kingdom come!" Indeed it was! That is why we all longed for to a bit stretch our our backs and relax in the hotel, but sadly we are dismayed due to the following reasons: 1.) The Toilet has no ventilation (window or even exhaust) 2.) We can't lock the door of our toilet and the water can't recede in the floor. 3.) In the other room, the sink has no pipe toward the drainage and smell of the toilet does a bit stink. 4.) Night time, the place is dark.. only in the videoke area and that of the kubos near the grill station is lit. 5.) Food is not that super appetizing. 6.) WiFi and even that of your data can't work well. 7.) TV only has one channel. 8.) No closet to keep your things... even hangers are not that well provided.
But amidst all of that here are the cons: 1.) accommodating staff! 2.) their tourist guide is awesome! 3.) drinking water (hot and cold) is provided for in the dinning hall. 4.) pool area has a relaxing ambiance.
I just hope that the hotel will do some major adjustments to the above mentioned

I really did enjoy our stay here in this Inn. It is spacious, it is clean, it has its own identity, the view is nice, nice rooms, but more than anything else is that the people who works in it were very corteaous, fun and amazingly nice. I love the access to the river going to the open sea on the backside of their property. I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely come back!

This is the accommodation of choice for our business trips to Caramoan. A plus is the clean pool and alcoholic drinks are usually ready to serve compared to the hotels near the town proper. Breakfast choices is usually the same so you'll probably be annoyed if you are staying for the long term. You can also buy seafood at the nearby port and have them cook it for you. Their cooking style fits my taste buds. Wifi is strong only at the dining area. Most of the rooms do not have working water heater. Be ready with your insect repellent since there are hard to see biting insects in the afternoon.
