After a 2 hour boat ride from the raging sea of Catanduanes (there was a typhoon passing), we safely arrived in Caramoan and stayed here for 3 nights with my family: my husband, daughter, and my mom for 3450.60. The check-in was fast. The room is basic but comfortable. Though there were no shampoos provided, good thing we brought ours. And just like any other far provinces here in the Philippines, electricity is only available at night, they don't have generators. It is about 10-15m away from Paniman beach where we took the island hopping tour. They also have a restaurant but we were told that they only serve two types of dishes every meal and for advance order only, so we ate or bought food outside the inn the entire duration of our stay.Overall it was okay for budget travellers.…

We stayed in a quad room. It has a small tv. No hot and cold shower. But the room is a decent place where you can sleep peacefully and comfortably. The place also serve meal from breakfast to dinner. The food is good with choices of vegetables, meat and seafoods. They have mini garden where you can also relax.

I love this Inn, I love everything about it. Be ready to get fat because they will serve you food 3x a day! With choices of Veggies, Meat, and seafoods. And plus there's more, Unli Rice all you want (redundancy). You can get big discount when you travel in group original price is 2700/head for 9Pax. But the owner gave it to us for only 2500/head for 3D/2N and it's already inclusive of the air conditioned room accomodation with hot water, food served daily 3x a day, the island tour for 2 days. I can say that it is really worth it.

I initially booked a double room but unfortunately, it has no hot and cold shower so I had to book a quad room. The bed is just okay, as well as the room. Overall, this is just a place where you can sleep at the end of your tours but your money spent here is definitely worth it.

we had a nice stay in Sights and Sand Tourist Inn. Room is cute, clean and spacious, bathroom is just right small, my only complain is they don't have hot shower(for the room we had, i did not ask if they had hot shower in other rooms). Food is great(as expected from a former ship cook :)). We always have 3 ulam(1meat, 1seafood, 1vegetable). i loved how they cooked crab and shrimps. :D Our tour guide is great, very polite. and a very good photographer too.. :D The owner is very nice and accommodated us very well. Other hotel staff is also good, very accommodating and attentive. we never ran out of rice. hehe

I heard of Caramoan and decided to see for myself just how spectacular the beaches truly are. I planned to stay there for at least a month, and so the matter of accomodations was very important. Getting to the town proper was not a problem. I was already informed of a few transportation "scalpers", independent operators bent on cashing in on unsuspecting tourists so I deftly avoided the bloodhounds : ) I reached Caramoan and stayed in a place for 10 days. I was not very comfortable there so I went around - on foot - to check other places. I chanced by Sights and Sand Tourist Inn. The gate was closed so I pushed it in just enough for me to step inside. I was immediately impressed by what I saw - the atmosphere homey, the garden in the courtyard well-designed and restful, the living quarters pleasant and welcoming. I checked in - and boy, was I ever glad I did; it was one of the best decisions I made. My room had capiz-shell windows (!) and all the amenities an unpretentious tourist can expect - a flatscreen TV w/ remote control (cable service is a tad weak though), an electric (stand)fan, a digital aircon w/ remote control, a soft and comfy double bed (made the way I like, and with very clean pleasantly-designed beddings), a clean bathroom (soap and toilet paper were constantly checked, and provided when out). My bathroom didn't have a hot/cold shower. I was offered another room that had one, but I declined. For a place that needed airconditioning, I certainly wouldn't require a hot shower! The owners themselves run the place and showed me the proverbial hospitality for which Filipinos are known. They were not only friendly, kind and gracious, they also showed real concern for me as their guest - my safety, my comfort. (I ended up staying in this inn for a month and a half!) During my stay, I witnessed countless times their honesty in dealing with guests; they were upfront and clearly laid out options for guests when online-reservation problems arise, or when there is a little miscommunication with independent travel agents. Their generosity included offering their own house for guests to stay in, when there was "no more room at the inn" (!) and even letting stranded (for one reason or other) guests stay gratis, meals included. The former may have happened many times, but to see a business doing the latter - even once - already impresses me no end. So I take my hats off to this husband-and-wife team, who run their business with their hearts, not with their pockets. Regular staff at the inn was just as amazing - quiet, friendly, respectful, accomodating, honest, constantly buzzing around seeing to their guests' needs, going the extra mile for their guests' satisfaction. I extended a little understanding to the tiny oversights of new hires or extra help, especially when the inn was packed with guests. And the meals (always generous portions) were superb - delectable and exquisitely presented! In all those weeks in Caramoan, I never enjoyed food as much as I did at the inn. When I asked tourist guides in Caramoan where the best food in town was, more often than not, the answer was "At Sights and Sand!" "Sights and Sand" is a catchy name though quite a misnomer. I realized the business, like most businesses of this type in Caramoan, also includes making arrangements for guests to go island-hopping, sightseeing, and even shopping. One time I had a problem with a sightseeing sked, it was largely due to a third party getting involved. Throughout my stay, I was constantly emailing my friends, co-workers and former classmates in Canada. I sent them pictures of the majestic beauty of nature in Caramoan. I gave them fair warning as well - for a destination still adjusting to the influx of tourists, there were the occasional power outtages and their concommitant inconveniences, affecting all businesses in the place. And, in at least a couple of emails, I spoke highly of Sights and Sand Tourist Inn, recommending it without reserve as THE BEST PLACE IN TOWN. Thank you, Sights and Sand, that was one of the grandest vacations I had. Reno…

I hope this review I am going to make for Sights and Sand Inn, would make my readers think twice before they decide of choosing this Hotel/Inn. I know I am only one person to complain vs among other group of ppl who might have liked or had fun staying at Sights and Sand. This is just based on our experience and I'm hoping I could be of help somehow after you read my review. Well, Sights and Sands - by the sound of it's Hotel Name is quite catchy and you would picture yourself sitting in a Beach Front Hotel or along the seashore while enjoying the view of the majestic Beach of Caramoan. But, that's not how our dream overnight stay has began/ended. So here we go.. January 24, 2013, we have our room reserved for four pax - The Twin Bed (Double) which is good for four pax. I've asked if we can all fit in one room and she said "YES". She has also provided the room's amenities such as: - Air-conditioned room - Cable TV - Private Toilet and Bath I told myself, okay sounds good coz that's what we all need. I am also aware that pick up from Guijalo Port is not for free as we availed of Room Only. Which leads me to this: First -- On the 19th, upon arrival at Guijalo Port -- a Tricycle Driver of Sights and Sands (who picks up hotel guest) told us that we can ride a Tricycle for FREE. He was pointing us to his chosen Tricycle Driver to drop us off at their Inn. I insisted to him that we DID NOT avail of a Package and so I am aware that there is no “FREE PICK UP”. So I said we'll just wait for other passenger to complete the 8-seater capacity and so we can save money. But, he said it's okay -- that the Hotel are aware of it. And that the Hotel are the ones paying for their Guest's fare. He added that he wish he can be the one to pick us up but it's just that he has passengers at that time. So, he recommended his friend. I asked him many times if we will not shoulder the P150 one way fare and he responded to me with positiveness. And that's the only time we then took the Tricycle – four of us. Much to my surprise, this Tricycle Driver (he recommended) who took us to the Hotel was asking for our Payment. I did explained what that first guy told to the four of us (that it’s free), but, the second guy was acting as if he wasn't there during our conversation. But since we’re all tired, my friends let it go and we decided to pay the P150 fare. I guess that’s one of their “MODUS” or so-called raket -- so be careful. Second - upon arrival at the Hotel/Inn, no one ever welcomed us. We NEVER EVER FELT we are WELCOME! So, we walk on our own towards the Hotel’s Reception. But, much to our surprise, as we pass by the “restaurant”, a lady in black (with a tattoo at her back) called us and and asked "Are you four pax in a group?" I smiled and looked at her then she asked "Are you Ms. Rosalyn?” I politely said “Yes”. She said “Oh, your room is located here” -- she turned back and guided us to this “HOUSE” which is just a 2-minute walk from the Hotel/Inn. I was like “What does this mean? Why is she leading us to a house? I didn’t book for a homestay?” -- which we found out that it's their staff's quarters. I even turned around and read the Sights and Sand signage infront of the gate, making sure I booked at the right Hotel/Inn. I told myself – I am pretty sure we booked at Sights and Sand, NOT in a HOMESTAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had I known we will be staying at their staff’s quarter, we could have rented a Homestay right at the heart of Barangay Panima. It was clearly indicated on the email I received from Kat that our reserved room is TWIN BED (Double Room). So, what happened? That, I don't know :( The HOME -- When we get inside the house, there were like 5 ladies who welcomed us and they were all nice, all polite – we can’t complain about that. They all did a good job in assisting us on our “request” such as Towels, Tissue, Door Key (so we can keep our things on the other room) and extra mattress (since we all decided to stay in one room) – we sincerely THANK THEM for that. I can’t complain with the room amenities as well, it was nice – comfy bed, airconditioned room, except for a door that doesn’t have a lock and a TV (that doesn’t work because no remote control was provided) but that’s okay because we’re not much into watching TV. But, this made us feel like we are “ABANDONED CHILDREN” -- no one was there to assist us – we’re all alone in the house. Whenever we need of something basic like cold water, hot water, electric kettle, hotel menu etc..we had to walk all the way to the Sights and Sands Inn just to ask for water, plate, spoon, fork etc..and the lady who guided us in our room, was looking us from head to toe as if we are BEGGARS! I am not writing this review for the sake of argument or demand for something or whatsoever. It is because I wanted my readers to know the inconvenience we had so they can think before they decide to book/stay at this Hotel/Inn. We were really DISAPPOINTED, so much that I would not recommend it to my friends. We’re not “maarte” or “pa-sosy”, we can do HOMESTAY but, that's if we PREFER a HOMESTAY. What made me feel worst is that, I was the one to book at Sights and Sand and I know that my friends has the same expectations as I do. I was picture-ing myself of having a nice, comfy and hassle-free stay but…all of these were just a dream. They’ve been asking me what happened, as they thought we’ll be staying in a room and I couldn’t find a right words to say because I myself, was surprise too! Can you imagine that? They confirmed our reservation way back in JANUARY 24, 2013. They can’t just say that reason why we had to transfer to their staff’s quarter is because they are fully booked or we didn’t avail of their package. That is NOT ACCEPTABLE! No Hotel Manager nor receptionist has ever waste her/his time to explain to us what had happened. Had we known they'll be prioritizing those ppl who availed of the package, we could have look for a better place or home to stay in Caramoan – though it’s just for an amount P1,200 but, when you offer service, you should guarantee your customer’s satisfaction. If they will be prioritizing those ppl availing packages, they could have remove an option for “Room Only” – make sense, right? This is a misleading advertisement. We’ve been to several places, booked with different hotels..but this is the first time it happened to us :( Hope this helps.…
