We planned to come here for 2 nights but after see the place and meet the staff we decided to stay just one night. The photos on their facebook account were not the same. Rooms are simple and overprice. The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful, they do not have anything and they forget most of the orders, at least the guy smile cos the girls do not almost say hello, but also unhelpful.
This place is a hidden paradise! We did not have much expectations prior to coming here as we decided to book rooms at La Playa on a whim. However my friends and i were very pleased to find out how much we lucked out in deciding to stay here! First, we love the huge grounds. There were tables and hammocks everywhere, with lots of trees for shade which made it really nice for hanging out. We also brought our dog with us and it was really nice for her to be able to run around freely in a secure area. The staff was also very accommodating with our pet which we really appreciated. The location is unbeatable! It's at the far end of the beach which means less noise, less people, and most of the time you have the beach pretty much to yourself which we loved. It was really nice waking up to a view of the ocean. The food was AMAZING. We loved every single dish they served us. We highly recommend their pork sisig, laing, chicken adobo, grilled fish, and tinola. Best paired with garlic rice! The food took a while to prepare though, but we thought the wait was worth it! Everything was soooooo good. Compliments to the chef! Service was very nice! All the staff members were very very friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. Wish we could have gotten everyone's names! We got 2 aircon rooms with 2 double beds each. The rooms were simple but they were clean, had everything we needed, and at 1200 each, they were a steal! Great value for money. We were also able to request for massages one night and the staff called one of their regular masseuses for us. Ate Mila was amazing!! One of the best massages I've ever gotten. And only 300/hr! Overall we were super happy with our stay at La Playa. Highly highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Caramoan.…
This place is a nice area to stay that gets very windy at night. The rooms were nice, big and clean and location was convenient for island hopping. The staff was really accommodating and we had good food here as well. Breakfast was something to look forward for and dinner was even better. There was one night when crabs and squid were served! The crabs were really good. One problem was the brown outs though. We had several bouts of no electricity but I think that's the case in general in Caramoan.
The best thing about this Resort is its location. It is right in front of the beach where island tours around are arranged. The rooms/cottages/huts are average, nothing special and needs more cleaning, especially the Comfort Rooms. If you are looking for a place where you will sleep peacefully without noise from videoke and vehicle this is the best spot. A bit far/remote from the city proper but close to the beach. Food is not good, however laing (yam leaves with coconut milk is a must). Choices of food VERY limited so make sure to order in advance all your food requests. Staff are nice and helpful except the person assigned in the counter. As if he doesn't like to be asked. Make sure also to ask the boatman what are the islands included on your island hopping tour. Some rooms are creepy, as if there are something/somebody watching you.…
The room was ok (still expensive, but reasonable price in Philippines), but the staff was really unhelpful, the kitchen close at 20pm, we came at 20:05 on our first day and they didn't want to serve us even steam rice! The boat ride was a joke, the 2 guys just wanted to go back to sleep as at Noon they told us that the tour was finished (8am to 5pm initially)!! No refund!!
We stayed for one night, this is a good place for those who have low budget. The staff is friendly and accomodating .We rented a boat from then for island hopping and it was the best experience for us, the guide is very kind. We didn't eat in the restaurant because the food is a bit expensive, we go outside and eat on a carenderia ,its much cheaper. The room was not for those who have high maintenance when it comes to cleanliness and luxury. The room we stayed is pretty much on a low standard. If you're looking for a place for short stay this i can recommend. I'd rather spend my money on experiencing Caramoan island than spend on an expensive place to sleep, you will be outside pretty much all day. Caramoan is a gem!
Me and my friend stayed for one night, Caramoan was our last leg to our Bicol trip. Upon arrival, we checked in immediately, the staff asked us if we want to do island hopping. They have their own boat for island hopping, we payed 1,500 pesos for the boat (which I considered very cheap compared to the island hopping in El Nido which was 1,200 per person, because regardless of how many you are, its still 1500, it just so happened that its only me and my friend that time). They have their own restaurant, we ordered their Sinigang (icant remember exactly its name but it has calamansi instead of sampaloc). Later that night we ordered Laing, it was very plenty, we asked the staff if they could put they remainder in the fridge. They did, that same laing also became our breakfast that next morning. We stayed in the fan room. It okay to stay in the fan room because, since its seaside, The place is very windy. We didnt have television in the room, but theres one in the restaurant. The staffs are VERY FRIENDLY, I love that place because of the staff. :) If your in Bicol, I advice to buy souvenirs in Caramoan,…
As a family we make sure that at least once a year we get to a new place to explore. Going to Caramoan for the first time (though we are already from Naga city) got us more excited than the usual. We went there on a summer of 2013, after my daughter graduated from college. This trip was one of her wishes as a gift. We got to the port as early as 6am and went to list our names as passenger. 30mins later we were cruising the sea via the small boat and after 2 hrs of sea travel, we reached Caramoan. To our surprise, the La Playa staff/driver was already waiting for us at the port of Caramoan which is a good gesture. We were brought to our resort & traveled for 30mins more. We were welcomed by the staff as soon as we got there. Very accommodating reception and the rooms were nice.We had the nipa hut version for my husband & me and for the kids the triple sharing. Their food is really awesome and unli, i must say. There's no room to go on diet here. The next morning was the island hopping and other side tours which is included in our reservation which was all worth it.In the evening, we stroll around, talked to locals and brought some souvenirs.Overall, our experience with La Playa Camp & Picnic grounds was one of our unforgettable island explorations.…
after almost half a day traveling from manila, it was a relief to have finally arrived at la playa. our group took two rooms and apparently we were the only ones at the resort. the room was adequate, definitely in line with the budget rates that were given to us. they weren't anything special. the sea was only a few steps away. good that we were forewarned as the sand was black and not really clean. seems that you have to go by boat to where the white sand and "survivor" island beauty were. anyhow it was still great as you would get to see the mayon volcano or mount isarog ( very confusing when you're in the bicol area or maybe we were just excited to see mayon). ok so to make this easier to read, i've narrowed it down to pro's and cons: PRO's * very cheap * the staff were quite helpful * food was amazing. you can tell them in advance what you wish to eat and they will prepare it for you. of course stick with sea food this would be very fresh and sourced locally CON's * the biggest one would be not having electricity from 9am i think until 6pm. * taking a shower did not help too as the water was from the sea so you will still feel sticky afterwards just be ready to rough it when you do visit this place. its not the main attraction for sure but the sacrifice was worth it.. will not visit anytime soon but when i do i'll make sure that i take a plane to naga and not a bus from manila…
It is true that all equipments are not functioning perfectly. But it is balanced with nice staff serving you for anything you need. We did come there to watch TV and the visit of the islands with traditional boats was a delight. Food was abundant and very good. They just need to restore some Karaoke, mosquito screen or pump for their basin water jet.
