Located in the Yorkville area of Toronto which is in the city's upper end, chic pocket neighbourhood, we had heard of the Hazelton by name in passing but it wasn't until we had a good enough reason to book with them, that we got to experience the luxury hotel named Canada's #1.
The moment you walk into the facilities, you get the feel of a modern stay met with a touch of vintage class. While the standard amenities were familiar (pool, workout room, sauna), the dark marble floors, custom pillows, designer furniture, and professionally dressed staff felt very unique. Truthfully it was a little intimidating at first seeing the staff dressed so nicely but those feelings were quickly diffused as the everyone met us with warm smiles.
We stayed for a bachelorette party and the staff went the extra mile to take care of us that included a custom welcome gift. They made sure the 2 rooms we booked were next to each other so as we were able to close the hallway doors so we could go between rooms in comfort. We had a lovely time and would certainly go back again.
For any special event, we'd recommend checking them out for a memorable stay.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet who unloaded our luggage and brought it to the concierge. As we had a reservation at a nearby restaurant close to our check-in time, the concierge kindly held our bags and delivered them to our rooms once they were ready. Before heading to our reservation, the girls enjoyed freshening up at the spa, which was really lovely.
Several team members stood out for their exceptional service, and we wanted to give them a special shoutout. A heartfelt thank you to Christabelle from the sales team for organizing a site visit earlier in the week so we could see the rooms, Isabeau for her warm welcome at the concierge, Eskander and Robert for being our kind photographers (Robert knew all the right angles and impressed the group!), Will for making two late-night runs to bring items for us, and the lovely doorman with an injured pinky who assisted us with our luggage into our Uber upon departure (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name).
We had a fantastic weekend at The Hazelton and can't wait to return!
P.S. We LOVED the pillow menu—such a thoughtful touch. The memory foam pillows were absolutely worth it! And the diffusers in the hallways smelled SO good. It made the experience feel even more luxurious.
I recently visited the Hazelton Hotel Spa and was met with an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience that reflects a serious decline in the hotel's standards. For years, my husband, in-laws, and I have been loyal guests at the Hazelton Hotel. My in-laws, who frequently stayed at the hotel while visiting us from British Columbia, have completely stopped using the hotel’s services due to this horrific experience.
During my spa visit, I encountered a severe breach of privacy. While in the changing room, a staff member entered abruptly without knocking or any warning, leaving me exposed and deeply uncomfortable. This level of disregard for privacy is absolutely unacceptable in a supposed 5-star establishment.
To make matters worse, when I first attempted to report this incident to management, Miss Bronwen, the spa manager, was nowhere to be found. Despite my attempts to raise the issue, she completely avoided speaking with me. This lack of professionalism speaks volumes about the poor management at this hotel. When I returned to the spa to have my service corrected, Miss Bronwen was present but again completely avoided addressing me, despite knowing full well about the issue.
How is it that a manager, hired to resolve serious matters, simply disappears when accountability is required? If management cannot handle basic guest concerns or provide a direct response to serious incidents, I fail to see how this hotel continues to maintain its 5-star rating.
After this experience, we have completely stopped using the Hazelton Hotel and all of its services. If you value your privacy and expect even a basic level of professionalism, I urge you to reconsider choosing this hotel. The Hazelton no longer represents the high standards it once did, and management’s failure to address serious issues is a glaring example of its decline.
From the desk staff to the manager and restaurant it was a pleasure.
The facilities are excellent and housekeeping very detailed. I left a note and they took care of what we needed. The room controls for lights privacy and shades are always a sign of attention to detail.
The house driver was great on two uses and was very informative and gracious.
I must highly recommend the hotel and most of all a wonderful staff in both the visible and invisible areas.
Room service and food were excellent and hot on delivery.
Check it out I think if you are discerning you will not be disappointed.
The location is of course very walkable.
In addition, the housekeeping staff is also exceptional and provide attentive details to ensure that the rooms and common spaces are spotless and shining. The housekeeping and rest of the support staff check up on guests to make sure that they have everything that they need in the room. The turn down service is also second to none and the extra attention including the water by the bed and pillow spray are added nice touches.
The rooms are spacious, and the beds are most comfortable and heavenly. It is a pleasure dealing with each and every staff member at the Hazelton. The hotel is situated in an amazing location - close to all the great shops and many top restaurants.
