Nestled in the vibrant Yorkville district, The Hazelton Hotel delights guests with its luxurious atmosphere and proximity to high-end shopping and dining. While some travelers raise concerns about the cost, noting the meals and services may not offer the best value for money, others find the impeccable cleanliness and spacious rooms with thoughtful amenities to be worth the splurge. The hotel's amenities, like the spa and gym, receive consistent praise, although a few guests suggest enhancements to the in-suite offerings. Service at The Hazelton is generally exceptional, though experiences of inconsistency have been reported.

We had a wonderful stay for our birthdays. The hotel and amenities are all gorgeous. All the staff in the hotel, spa, and restaurant are all top shelf and obviously care alot making guests feel welcome and happy. We stayed in a Luxury King Room with juliet balcony that overlooked Hazelton Lane. The room is huge by Toronto standards and the bathroom is beautifully decorated with marble floors and walls. We told them in advance that it was our birthday and they left us a beautiful little cake, wine bottle, wine glasses, and a nice card in our room for when we arrived. It was such a nice surprise upon checkin :) We definitely have not had that type of present waiting for us before even at other 5 star hotels. We both booked massages at the spa which were also great and relaxing. We had dinner at One restaurant and both had plant based options, both were great! Our favorite part was our breakfast via room service, which was delievered in 15 minutes. The food was all awesome and we swear it was the best breakfast we ever had. I recommend the Full Breakfast ($39) as it comes with everything and you will be filled up. I spent time at the pool and steam room, which were always quiet, clean and well maintained. Looking forward to returning some day :)

What a lovely hotel!

Located in the Yorkville area of Toronto which is in the city's upper end, chic pocket neighbourhood, we had heard of the Hazelton by name in passing but it wasn't until we had a good enough reason to book with them, that we got to experience the luxury hotel named Canada's #1.

The moment you walk into the facilities, you get the feel of a modern stay met with a touch of vintage class. While the standard amenities were familiar (pool, workout room, sauna), the dark marble floors, custom pillows, designer furniture, and professionally dressed staff felt very unique. Truthfully it was a little intimidating at first seeing the staff dressed so nicely but those feelings were quickly diffused as the everyone met us with warm smiles.

We stayed for a bachelorette party and the staff went the extra mile to take care of us that included a custom welcome gift. They made sure the 2 rooms we booked were next to each other so as we were able to close the hallway doors so we could go between rooms in comfort. We had a lovely time and would certainly go back again.

For any special event, we'd recommend checking them out for a memorable stay.

I recently visited The Hazelton with a group of friends for my sister's bachelorette, and the Hazelton team went above and beyond to make our weekend special. From our warm welcome at the concierge to the thoughtful details like the champagne and dessert tray (the chocolate beignets were AMAZING) and personalized cards in our rooms—the attention to detail made our stay incredibly wonderful!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet who unloaded our luggage and brought it to the concierge. As we had a reservation at a nearby restaurant close to our check-in time, the concierge kindly held our bags and delivered them to our rooms once they were ready. Before heading to our reservation, the girls enjoyed freshening up at the spa, which was really lovely.

Several team members stood out for their exceptional service, and we wanted to give them a special shoutout. A heartfelt thank you to Christabelle from the sales team for organizing a site visit earlier in the week so we could see the rooms, Isabeau for her warm welcome at the concierge, Eskander and Robert for being our kind photographers (Robert knew all the right angles and impressed the group!), Will for making two late-night runs to bring items for us, and the lovely doorman with an injured pinky who assisted us with our luggage into our Uber upon departure (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name).

We had a fantastic weekend at The Hazelton and can't wait to return!

P.S. We LOVED the pillow menu—such a thoughtful touch. The memory foam pillows were absolutely worth it! And the diffusers in the hallways smelled SO good. It made the experience feel even more luxurious.

Hazelton Hotel Spa – Privacy Breach and incompetent Management

I recently visited the Hazelton Hotel Spa and was met with an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience that reflects a serious decline in the hotel's standards. For years, my husband, in-laws, and I have been loyal guests at the Hazelton Hotel. My in-laws, who frequently stayed at the hotel while visiting us from British Columbia, have completely stopped using the hotel’s services due to this horrific experience.

During my spa visit, I encountered a severe breach of privacy. While in the changing room, a staff member entered abruptly without knocking or any warning, leaving me exposed and deeply uncomfortable. This level of disregard for privacy is absolutely unacceptable in a supposed 5-star establishment.

To make matters worse, when I first attempted to report this incident to management, Miss Bronwen, the spa manager, was nowhere to be found. Despite my attempts to raise the issue, she completely avoided speaking with me. This lack of professionalism speaks volumes about the poor management at this hotel. When I returned to the spa to have my service corrected, Miss Bronwen was present but again completely avoided addressing me, despite knowing full well about the issue.

How is it that a manager, hired to resolve serious matters, simply disappears when accountability is required? If management cannot handle basic guest concerns or provide a direct response to serious incidents, I fail to see how this hotel continues to maintain its 5-star rating.

After this experience, we have completely stopped using the Hazelton Hotel and all of its services. If you value your privacy and expect even a basic level of professionalism, I urge you to reconsider choosing this hotel. The Hazelton no longer represents the high standards it once did, and management’s failure to address serious issues is a glaring example of its decline.

We do appreciate you letting us know then and allowing us to endeavour to rectify the issue with a subsequent visit with our aesthetician. The Hazelton has garnered much applause and is, to some, one of Toronto’s best hotels, boasting celebrity guests and so on. Speaking honestly, I struggled to see what all the fuss is about. Whilst I cannot fault the impeccable politeness of all staff we encountered here, we found the hotel itself to be quite ordinary. Our room was pleasant, particularly the bathroom, but my mother remarked it had a rather masculine feel to it in terms of decor — indeed, it felt to me like a high quality business hotel. Some of the small touches I would expect from an exceptional hotel, such as a welcome drink on arrival, were absent. It was also a shame that the hotel does not offer a breakfast selection as standard; only an al la carte option was available — whilst decent, this was quite costly, and the grapefruit juice did not taste to be freshly squeezed. More prosaically, the hotel felt to us, as visitors to the city, to be situated quite far to the north of many of Toronto’s main attractions, e.g the Distillery district, Toronto Islands, etc. Overall, then, we enjoyed our stay at The Hazelton but would caution against expecting anything extraordinary.

Dear finnlagun, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at The Hazelton. Your insights are invaluable to us as we continually strive to enhance our guest experience. We're thrilled to hear that our staff's impeccable politeness and the luxurious bathroom amenities contributed positively to your stay. However, we are disheartened to learn that certain aspects of your experience did not fully meet your expectations, and we will certainly review these to ensure they align more closely with the exceptional standards we aim to provide. Many of our guests love the tranquility and exclusivity of our Yorkville setting, with an abundance of the city’s finest cultural, culinary, artistic, and lifestyle attractions just a stone's throw away. We hope you were able to explore the unique charm of our neighborhood during your visit. Once again, thank you for your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and exceed your expectations with an unforgettable experience. Sincerely, Gaurav Dutta, General Manager

Above and beyond customer service, everyone is polite and cleaning staff even goes out of their way to greet you in the hallways and make sure your stay is just perfect.. The atmosphere is very lux and high end, nothing is overlooked. The furniture and decor are modern and is maintained to look new. Overall very clean and could not find one thing that was not perfectly clean in my room (except the room menu but totally fine and normal). Checked in around 11am and within an hour had a room ready with my luggage already waiting for me in the room. The room is spacious and have a beautiful balcony type windows that overlook Yorkville avenue and make it great having while having drink. Had the staff bring up more L'Occitane toileteries while i was away and they left a note and a plate of fresh macaroons and cookies, they were possibly the best ive ever had and so kind of them. The floor to ceiling marble bathroom is well prepared with a rainshower and very large bathtub (think basketball player friendly), an exfoliating mitten, some bath bombs and the usual shampoo conditionner and moisturizer, all L'Occitane. The little TV built in the mirror is a nice finish too. Toilet paper is alright, sort of like the hospital kind which could be better. Mini bar is fully loaded with complimentary snacks (best ive seen, think chips and granola bars) with Flow Water and Nespresso machine and plenty of space for personal use. The steam room on the spa floor is never busy and is a delight to use and fully loaded with toiletteries and Flow water. Pool is salt water is usually not too busy either and very clean. One restaurant on the lobby floor is by far my personal favorite restaurant in Toronto for the service and quality of food. Nothing too wild and exotic but always really good quality and most nights the patio attracts a crowd of locals and is kept warm with heating towers. Prices are very reasonable and has something for everyone. The breakfast is also very impressive and worth the visit. Lastly the Concierge was also lovely and set up a driver who also went above and beyond with their service. This hotel is just the perfect size for a private and personalized service that other 5 star just cannot beat in Toronto. Overall the Hazelton Hotel has surpassed every expectations and is a good pick for location and if you want a true luxury 5 star experience.

It’s been a long time since my husband and I got to get away. The hazelton did it right in every way !! From the minute we arrived until we drove off. The little extra touches they put on making our stay unforgettable. The pillow mint spray, pillow selections , room service anytime , house keeping didn’t miss a beat , they even organized my make up and as simple as organizing our shoes . Evetytime we call the front desk they not only answered our question they sent someone up to unsure we had what we needed. We will not only stay at the hazelton again we will bring more couples with us. Thank you for letting us enjoy our getaway just a little bit more with all your hospitality. Al, Ronaldo and so many more that aren’t coming to mind . Can’t wait to come again . We got celebrate treatment !

The staff was very helpful and accommodating in all aspects. Maira the Concierge was fabulous and arranged all transportation and meals which were all superb. She was very hands on and welcomed us well for our visit! She made it special.
From the desk staff to the manager and restaurant it was a pleasure.

The facilities are excellent and housekeeping very detailed. I left a note and they took care of what we needed. The room controls for lights privacy and shades are always a sign of attention to detail.

The house driver was great on two uses and was very informative and gracious.

I must highly recommend the hotel and most of all a wonderful staff in both the visible and invisible areas.

Room service and food were excellent and hot on delivery.

Check it out I think if you are discerning you will not be disappointed.

The location is of course very walkable.

Many thanks to The Hazelton Hotel Team for the extraordinary customer service and making my hotel experience outstanding every stay. Recently, I had the good fortune of dealing with Alejandra, Angela, and the rest of the team at the front desk and the amazing concierge team of Ronaldo, Rob, Maíra, and Tony who were all welcoming, most helpful and went the extra mile to make my stay most pleasant and memorable. As an entire team, they have a unique and special way to make guests feel at home and always comfortable. The entire team stands out because of its superior warm, kind, and genuine customer service.

In addition, the housekeeping staff is also exceptional and provide attentive details to ensure that the rooms and common spaces are spotless and shining. The housekeeping and rest of the support staff check up on guests to make sure that they have everything that they need in the room. The turn down service is also second to none and the extra attention including the water by the bed and pillow spray are added nice touches.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are most comfortable and heavenly. It is a pleasure dealing with each and every staff member at the Hazelton. The hotel is situated in an amazing location - close to all the great shops and many top restaurants.

Hazelton is a well situated Business Hotel. It allows easy access to high-end shopping in the centre of Toronto . The rooms are large and well appointed. Staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. Based on our experience in the restaurant, we cannot confirm that this was an extraordinary culinary experience. Whilst the service is attentive, the meals are overpriced and the quality of food is average. We has to wait for 45 minutes until the food arrived and the food was cold. Had it been waiting too long for delivery? We only went there one single time during our 6-day stay valet services are great in this busy area but we paid 400 dollars for keeping our car there for 3 nights. Better option is to use the parking opposite the hotel.

We usually take airline limousine or a limo outside of airport and the cost is between $60 and $65 Canadian. If you are a leading hotel member (unlimited) the ride from airport to Hazelton is complimentary when booking through Leading Hotels. If you are a Leading Hotel member (any level) it is better to book through them as there are a number of benefits. Otherwise, I would be happy to give you my company name if you are booking directly and you could secure a corporate rate at a discounted rate. The ride takes between 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic and rush hour. The hotel location is truly the best one in Toronto.
