Nestled in the heart of Toronto, the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Toronto Downtown is often praised for its spotless accommodations and modern, chic atmosphere. The hotel's advantageous location garners appreciation, offering easy access to public transport and nearby attractions, although some concerns about safety and its distance from downtown have been noted.
Guests enjoy the comfortable, spacious rooms, but the noise from heating systems and construction can be a downside for some. The service at this hotel is frequently commended for being friendly and helpful, and while amenities like the varied breakfast options are a hit, the parking fees contribute to mixed feelings about the hotel's value.

Detailed Reviews
The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel’s location is a major plus - you can easily leave your car in the parking lot and explore the city on foot or by public transport, with a streetcar stop just 150m away and the subway 600m away. The staff was also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
While the hotel was generally quiet, I experienced some noise issues. You could occasionally hear guests in the hallway or rooms above, and the room doors tend to close loudly, which can be disruptive. My room faced a construction site to the north, and unfortunately, there was loud noise starting before at 6:50am on a Saturday. However, Sunday morning was much quieter.
As for breakfast, it was pretty basic. You’ll find something to eat, but the food quality could be improved.
Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was positive, especially if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located hotel. It's also very likely the best value you can find in that price range downtown Toronto.

The hotel is well located, the Union Station, the CN Tower, the baseball stadiums and the arena, are walking about 30min, there is a lot to see in the center, variety of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The hotel has a mini buffet breakfast with a variety of fruit, cereals, bread, coffee, etc. From the airport is 30 min, the room normal and comfortable, only the weather makes some noise when running with the heating, good value for money.

We booked 2 rooms , King with sofa bed and 2queen suite for our family and they gave us rooms across from each other .
Rooms were spacious , air conditioning worked well. They had fridge , a microwave but no safe ( there was one in reception) . Beds were very comfortable and we did not experience noise from other guests. One of the room doors was hard to open and hotel said it was because building is old and they expand, but they did organise for the door to be sanded and it then worked well. There is also small gym Queen room faced out onto brick wall and was dark, King room faces courtyard so was much brighter .
Breakfast was in a large well laid out room, there was always seats. Typical Hampton breakfast , well stocked. Scrambled egg or omelette next day. Sausages Cereals , fruit. , bagels , small donuts and yogurts , toast and waffle machine. Coffee available all day.
Staff on reception very helpful - they gave us late checkout to 2 pm (no charge) and stored luggage later as had late flight. They ordered large van/SUV for us to airport and it was flat fee $95 (5 people 5 large cases)
Location is near Yonge Dundas Square (about 10 min walk) and 22 min walk from St Lawrence market. It was c40 min walk to CN tower. So it is a little bit out. It is near public transport but we did not use.We enjoy walking but did get Uber some days . If walking towards lakefront I would turn right on Gerrard St and walk down Church or Yonge St as there was a lot of homeless as you walked down Jarvis toward Queen St intersection
We enjoyed our stay. We would have preferred interconnecting rooms for kids but room across worked well -hotel is little further away from main tourist areas but good for those that like walking .

It is true that the night is very expensive and that is the reason that made us hesitate.... Now all hotels in downtown Toronto have excessive Awards... but for this Award, the quality is...!!
Pension is great:
- welcome and availability of staff: people are very friendly and give us tour tips... they give you a map of the city
-the rooms are great: very large, very clean, very chic! They even have a wardrobe to store clothes
- the bedding is fabulous: big beds super comfortable!!! We slept like babies
- Super well soundproofed Pension: super quiet, we hear nothing from the other rooms
- great bathroom: Italian shower Super large!
- Superb Pension: You can do everything on foot or take transport at the foot of the Pension: you are in the city center
- the room has a refrigerator
- the breakfast is correct; there is sweet and savoury
Apart from the Award, this Pension is great!!! This is the Award that makes me give it a Rating of 8 and not 10....
I recommend!
The shower lacks a little pressure, it's a shame...
The Pension offers a parking space at $45 per night to add....We went to the facility but it is true that we then found public parking at $20 per night. The advantage of taking at the Pension is that we were able to leave our vehicle overnight at 6 pm while returning the room at noon, it is very convenient to continue the visits!!

Great hotel, lovely staff and perfect breakfast
We arrived by car and used the underground onsite car park. The check in staff were very friendly and the room was spacious, clean, well equipped and very comfortable for our 3 night stay. The location is good, a bit further out of town than some other similar priced hotels but is only a 10 min walk to the nearest Metro station (College).
The free breakfast was perfect to set us up for the day. This hotel chain seems to keep the breakfast choice simple but in doing so it was always fresh, warm and something to suit everyone!

Overall the hotel is good, the comfortable room has a microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. There is an armchair and a small table to eat. The beds are comfortable. Only thing is, they don't clean every day and the trash cans are very small. The location could be better, I saw many homeless people in the area and at night I felt insecure, it is not so close to the main attractions and you have to walk quite a lot if you take any excursion to leave downtown. Breakfast is regular, it could be richer the taste and more varied.

I stayed here during the first weekend of TIFF, I was able to use points and pay option. The hotel is located 10 minutes from the subway. The hotel room and bathroom were very spacious, the AC ran like a a dream with noise so I could sleep, I like that. The hotel had a free breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. I didn't have any issues during my stay and didn't feel unsafe walking at night as there were many people out and about.

Rooms were nice. We had two rooms. One room had a great view of downtown, the other room had a view of a wall (ask for a south-facing room). Rooms were clean, plenty of shelf space, nice TV, fridge. WiFi worked very well for us. All plumbing was low-flow...
Breakfast was good. Coffee was blah but the food was good. There was a good selection and they seem to rotate every two days. There's a waffle maker.
There is expensive parking at the hotel, but it's sooo convenient.
Staff were 5 stars. Helpful, cheerful, efficient.
The hotel is in a good location for transit and driving. Jarvis is an exit on the highway and it's fairly easy to get on the N-S highway as well. There is a subway stop (College) two long blocks away and a streetcar stop at the corner. There are many restaurants and shops (including Metro, a small market) in the area. On the downside, there were many homeless people in the area but it's mostly students and tourists that you'll see.
Price was expensive. It's downtown Toronto. There's currently construction nearby (on the north side of the building), but not a lot of external noise. There was no internal noise at all. We slept well.

Front desk clerk Joseph M. was helpful and always courteous. He recommended a local pub which served an outstanding steak sandwich, really a cut above most pub food. The room, breakfast room, and rest of the property were all very clean. The room had a mini-fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable. We appreciated the blackout window shade. The hot breakfast (eggs, etc., not only continental as reported by another contributor) buffet was as expected for a hotel of this level. The property is centrally located, only a few blocks from a large supermarket which sells deli food, but be careful because some parts of the neighborhood are unsavory. Unfortunately, there are no laundry facilities, so we had to walk to a laundromat for 15 minutes one-way on a sweltering hot humid day. Note to Hilton: Please put laundry machines in your hotels. Our room was odd – no table and no chair, so it was necessary to sit on the bed to eat from a plate on one’s lap. Unfortunately, a housekeeper, who was a total stranger to me, asked me twice about my ethnic identity for no discernible reason whatsoever. Note to Hilton: Please instruct your employees to refrain from irrelevant personal questions.

Its location is convenient by Uber from and to Union (train) Station.
Spacious & clean. Smooth beddings, fluffy white towels, conditioner and body lotion provided.
Complimentary breakfast had hot and cold choices; however, the mixed fruits were from cans. There were fresh apples and bananas.
