The Park Hyatt Toronto garners appreciation for its spotless rooms and excellent location, with guests frequently acknowledging the proximity to top city attractions. However, opinions on service and value diverge, as some guests cite professionalism and friendliness, while others point to service lapses and question the value for the price.
The hotel's amenities, including the Writer's Room Bar and a large gym, are generally praised, though a few guests have noted shortcomings. While the atmosphere is deemed modern and inviting, noise and housekeeping inconsistencies sometimes mar the experience.

We had an enjoyable stay at this property. Highlights included the room (King Deluxe, one of the better layouts I’ve seen for a non-suite hotel room and the aesthetic was in line with our preferences), the food offered at breakfast, and the in-house rooftop bar. We were however not very impressed by the bedding (cheap linens/towels and awful pillows - either too soft or way too hard) and the service. Sadly the service in particular is what prevented a five star rating. Service ranged from fine to non existent.
A few examples. When we arrived via car service on Saturday late afternoon, there was no assistance offered for our luggage. The servicing of our room was also wildly inconsistent, including failure to remove used ice buckets, lack of coffee/tea replenishment, and also missing glassware from our mini bar. Housekeeping was great about leaving water bottles in the room at the beginning of the stay, but that quickly dropped off as the stay continued. Nothing major, but just a lot of little hiccups that detracted from our stay since we would have to call down to request these missing items that should have otherwise been taken care of (for the record we did have twice daily housekeeping so this is not because we forgot to take down the DND sign or anything like that).
The staff we interacted with at the front desk and concierge were fine but the room service and housekeeping staff we had the displeasure of interacting with were one step away from being rude.
In summary, we would happily stay here again if the price was right, but this is more a high end full service property and not a true luxury property as experienced at other Park Hyatt locations around the world.

This is a beautiful looking hotel. The room I stayed in was very large, the temperature in the room was great, the meals during my business stay were creative and delicious, and the service from everyone I met was excellent. The bar on the 17th floor has a beautiful view of the city and an outdoor patio. Also, check in/out was a breeze - checked in early with no problems and check out is noon, which is a rare luxury these days.
If you book a meeting room, make sure you get the Terrace room. You won't regret it. Again, the windows on 2/3 of the wall make for a great setting.
A couple of minor things: heads up that the traffic right now in this area of Toronto can be pretty bad. Makes hailing a cab a slight hassle. Also, the boardrooms are in a different tower from the bedrooms. That just makes it slightly awkward if you have a meeting the morning you are checking out as you have go to the other tower to get your luggage. But it wasn't a problem.
Great stay!

Went to Park Hyatt Toronto for a girls trip weekend and I was very impressed with the level of attention from the staff. We drove an electric car, and I had forgotten the card for valet. They were extremely accommodating and even charged the car for me while we were there. The in room breakfast was delivered timely and it was such a treat to wake up to breakfast in our room. Overall, had a lovely weekend at Park Hyatt Toronto and would absolutely come back.

This hotel was the nicest one I stayed at during a multi-day trip around the Finger Lakes and Ontario, and I typically choose hotels that have been built or renovated within the past year. The hotel generally maintained a very high standard and provided a luxurious experience. However, despite these positives, the air conditioning system was a significant drawback. Although the sitting area in the room eventually cooled down after several hours, the overall air cooling and circulation throughout the room remained inadequate, leading to an uncomfortable night's sleep. The air conditioner failed to cool the entire room properly, which falls far short of the standard expected of any hotel, especially one of this caliber. The solutions offered by the hotel for this issue were highly disappointing—comparable to an upscale restaurant serving day-old food. I informed the hotel that I would adjust my feedback if they could identify and resolve the problem, but unfortunately, this did not happen.

Full disclosure - I arrived at the Park Hyatt after a harrowing hour drive into and through Toronto.
The stay was a really mixed bag. So let’s start with the positives:
The hotel decor and furnishings are very nice. The staff at the hotel bars and restaurant are top tier. Very clean and well maintained. The hotel room was fantastic on the inside - although the view certainly left something to be desired (there was no view other than a wall). Bathrooms were great, bed was comfy, and quite spacious for a downtown hotel room.
The down side to the hotel was checking in and leaving. Between pulling in until getting to a room it seemed like all the staff either had other priorities or were being (intentionally?) obtuse. Valet was distracted taking a picture of another car. Room keys didn’t work. Room wasn’t ready for 60+ minutes until after the (already late) check in time.
Checking out wasn’t much better. Miscommunications about what was due for the room (to be clear, the room cost was exactly as advertised but the staff made it sound like I was being charged extra… I thought I was taking crazy pills) and then a mix up involving my luggage in their holding room which I solved myself by sticking my head in the luggage holding room and locating my suitcase in 10 seconds.
It was the weirdest case of Jeckyll & Hyde I’ve ever seen at a hotel. Certain functions just in complete disarray while others (food, beverage, etc) were fantastic. Physically, a great hotel, but needs some kinks ironed out when it comes to how easy it is going from your arrival to your room, and then from your room to checking out.

This was our third annual thanksgiving escape to the Park Hyatt. No cooking, cleaning or turkey for the week. We enjoy the personal attention from staff and all the pampering we receive every time we visit. We enjoy the large room amenities including the tub, king size bed and views from the upper floors. The food options are outstanding and our kids love the full room service options. Our only comment would be we get too much food for breakfast! That said we always ask for a mini-fridge which helps with leftovers. From the time we arrive and greeted at the driveway to our departure the service is unmatched and personal. You can’t beat the location at the heart of shopping options along Bloor street as well as restaurants, museums nearby also. We love everything about the park Hyatt Toronto and we’ll be back next year. We highly recommend!

This hotel reopened with a bang in 2021 after renovations and provided a "wow" experience. For this stay, as Hyatt Globalists we stayed in a suite which is still quite nice; this is not the weak point of the stay. The rest of the way was definitely not wow due to a few cutbacks made by the hotel:
(1) The welcome amenity used to be a bottle of sparkling wine, now it's macarons. (2) The breakfast menu used to have creative and/or luxury options such as shrimp shakshouka and Koji beef short-rib hash but now the menu is a bit forgettable and nothing stands out. (3) Service was stellar a couple of years ago, now they seem to behave a bit more like a Hyatt Regency rather than a Park Hyatt. That means, there was nothing glaringly wrong about our stay but they failed to shine when they had the opportunity to do so. For example, we asked for our room to be cleaned during breakfast. Even lower level hotels just do it to please guests. Instead at this PH we were told "we will make the request but we cannot guarantee it". I had to insist that we needed housekeeping done at that time because our baby daughter would nap after breakfast so we would need the room.
In my humble opinion, for Park Hyatt standards hotels should do their utmost to please with a "yes can do attitude" and not take this kind of lackadaisical demeanor.
In a city with so many choices from other chains, I am unlikely to rush back to PH even though the hotel is not bad by any means. Hence my 3/5 rating, not 1/5 and not 5/5.

I felt very much at home and relaxed here. The room was spacious and well appointed. There was even a small window that opened for ventilation and fresh air, a rarity in high rise hotels it seems. Joni Restaurant and/or room service were just fine if you don’t feel like venturing out to eat. Staff were especially friendly and helpful throughout, except our waiter at Sunday breakfast forgot part of our order and was rarely seen.

It was a nice stay, I was initially concerned about the noise level as the hotel entrance is facing a main road, but the room was quiet. However, the sound proof between rooms leaves much to be desired as we could hear people talking along the hallway and noises from neighbours. Fortunately, the Occupants were considerate enough to stop their activities come bedtime.
The staff on duty was kind enough to show us the room first before checking in, just to make sure we find it acceptable.
Only downside was the breakfast service can be quite slow and I honestly did not find them tasty. However I wouldn't complain since the staffs were lovely.

So, the reason we / I like to stay at Luxury and / or 5-star hotels is because they are a reward for a lifetime of hard work. I like the way the best hotels make me feel special, like addressing me as Mr. GoGoBear, I like the way the staff works at exceeding my expectations. I like how staying at a luxury property makes me feel special.
Except when it doesn’t.
The benchmark for this experience is staying at a Four Seasons. Usually. But my last stay at a Four Seasons came up short of delivering the specialness.
We’ve stayed at Langham properties a few times, and on occasion have been blown away…but my last stay at a Langham…I missed that loving feeling.
Maybe I expect too much?
It was the little annoying things during my stay at the Park Hyatt Toronto.
• The kerfuffle with handling my valet parking before checking in (they would later “lose” my car because it in fact had not been registered properly in their valet parking app…then later my checkout was delayed because I hadn’t been charged for parking and someone noticed).
• The check in process being “clunky”….nothing went wrong, but it start stop oh wait, let me check to make sure…oh you are Amex Plat and you want an upgrade? Let me check...we have a room, but it is near the elevator…
• Elevator out – it happens. But when I got off the elevator on my floor I was greeted by carts and boxes and what have you…presumably because the staff was having to scramble with their “service elevator” being out.
The room was fine. Nice even. Not the décor I would have chosen, but again that’s nobody’s fault.
But the biggest thing was when I went to take a shower the next day and couldn’t figure out how the shower controls worked. Does that make me dense? Maybe…particularly after the maintenance staff guy came up to show me how it worked. But why were 2 different people at the front desk unable to explain to me how the shower controls worked, and why did I have to wait 30 minutes for the maintenance staff guy to arrive? I ended up being late to my dinner commitment.
Now, had I got some sort of great deal for my two-night stay, my attitude would be like **shrug**. But my stay was more than USD$400 per night. At those rates, I’m expecting better.
Or maybe I am expecting too much?
