Very convenient location for concert-going individuals. The rooms are very comfortable and the accommodations were lovely. The dining experience was unique. Three restaurants to choose from, a bit pricy, and shopping was available downstairs.

Hotel's Favorite
I decided on the spur of the moment to stay the Royal York last week, after a long day of flying. I took the UP Express from Pearson, crossed the street, walked into the Royal York and booked myself a room for the night. I am so glad I did! I have known the Royal York for many years, have had many a business meeting in the lobby bar and library bar, but had never actually stayed there. The hotel itself is beautiful and so nicely appointed. My room was very comfortable, and very quiet, for which I was so grateful!! I have stayed in so many hotels where noise is a problem, and it's always disappointing to not be able to sleep well when paying for a hotel. I don't think I woke once the entire night, which was lovely. The bathroom in my room was also very nice, and I really appreciated the quality Le Labo products the hotel provided. As mentioned, I was really tired after a long day of travel, so even though I was tempted to go downstairs to eat in the gorgeous Reign dining room, I opted for room service instead. The food was very good, and came to the room quickly. It was a nice surprise to get a call from In-Room- Dining shortly afterwards asking how my meal was. I did go down to Reign in the morning for breakfast, and again, it was very good and I just love the design and decor of the room. Every person that I dealt with who worked at the hotel was very friendly and polite. I go to Toronto often on business, and The Royal York will now be my go-to hotel, without a doubt.

Paper thin walls, can hear next door very clearly. Staff isn’t genuinely attentive, when explaining that during our last 2 stays we were unnecessarily charged for things from the minibar, they just said it was a mistake without addressing the issue or explain how this could happen a couple of times in a row, by the 3rd time we called reception who at least decided to proceed to explain that the minibar is hyper sensitive when anything in there is moved (which is a horrible mechanism to begin with to gauge whether someone used anything from the minibar). None of the staff cares about your stay or experience at this hotel, the friendliest people were the cleaning staff. Many ugly rooms with awful views, and then the service just makes everything that much worse, will never stay there again. We wouldn’t have given this a 2nd and definitely not a 3rd chance had it not been for Hotwire, which doesn’t show the name of the hotel until after you’ve booked. If we continue to use Hotwire, will have to opt for a 5 star or a 4 star outside of that location to ensure we never stay there again.

Booked a king room 2 months in advance. Checked in at 3pm. Got to the room and the room was too small for a king bed. Called the front desk and they said they would look into. Said all king rooms were gone, but the front desk should have informed us of the change. They obviously did not. So they said they would give a $100 credit for food and or the room and If at the bar to charge to the room. So we had 2 drinks before heading out. That's all we charged to the room and all they credited us for. Not impressed with the service at all.

From check-in to departure the whole stay was perfect as usual. I even got a complimentary upgrade. The location is convenient given the proximity of the train station. The room as immaculate and large. The staff were outstanding. I enjoyed the bar at the end of a tired day. I would certainly come back again!

I must say this was not the best Gold experience I’ve ever had … it was supposed to be … Staff was not able to take payments off my Visa card and I felt like concierge at the ground level exceeded my expectations but not Fairmont Gold team and I’ve stayed at the Gold Fairmont Delux for 6 nights paying a lot of money . The reason for my dissatisfaction is that I fell in love with the beauty products and I’ve asked where I could purchase such - the Gold Fairmont receptionist bluntly stated that the products I can only buy online , whereas the concierge on the ground level gifted me one - that was the experience I will remember . I don’t think I’ll do any Gold Fairmont booking at the foreseeable future…

I had difficulties with funds although the staff was patient with me and my father and we ended up having a great stay, the room was perfect. The wooden room cards though, i felt like i was going to break it in my pocket. just curious as to how many have said this?

I’ve booked the « Fairmont Luxury Double Room » which has the description and photos for - Guest rooms with sleek furnishings for a modern feel - which ended up not fitting at all. It was old looking with old furnishing - probably they moved me to one of their old rooms. Mattress was comfy. Shower was ok but water was just warm, a bit cold’ish, couldn’t make it to be comfortable. Gym was under maintenance, so closed. Gentlemen at the checkin counter was offering a 25$ restaurant credit to compensate. Ok stay, the price was better than others close by.
