We have moved out of Sudbury to retire at our cottage. A relative's son was getting married . The supper and celebrations were at Cambrian as were rooms, made available to guests. The rooms were spotless. Toiletries and towels were provided as was parking. I would highly recommend this option. Nothing fancy but clean, centrally located and reasonably priced.
A decent option for visiting the city. It is in a college dormitory, so it is not luxurious, but it is a good value. We ended up in room 327, which was at the end of a hallway, but was probably one of the better options in terms of rooms as it only had neighbours on one side (and even then the building is pretty sound proof.) There were some issues with the cooling system which we never did figure out, but the rooms were neither too hot or too cold anyway, and even with windows open at night there was next to no noise outside. As is mentioned elsewhere there is no tv in the rooms, though I don't see it as being a huge issue, as I never saw anyone in the common room and there is a tv there. It is a bit of an odd area of town to stay in, as there is not a whole lot in the immediate area, though it is not too far from LaSalle Boulevard, so getting across the city either way is pretty easy. Overall, we liked our experience there and would stay again.…
We were attending my daughters wedding in Hanmer and needed something that was affordable and close to Hanmer. The rooms were clean, service was great. If we needed towels etc. we got them right away. There was coffee and tea in the mornings, no continental breakfast. The sitting area could have been described better as it is only a table and 2 chairs. Overall, a great economical choice for accommodation. Thank you! if I am out that way again for an extended stay, I would book at the college again.
Stayed for 4 nights this past weekend. Price was reasonable and bed was clean and comfortable. It is a student residence so don't expect much. Nice full bathroom and location is nice....once you actually find the building. The address is NOT on Barrydowne at all and was frustrating to find. Was ok after friends showed me a direct route. Wifi was good...only cut out a couple of times.Would stay again!
The address is for the entire school, so we had trouble finding the residence. The check-in was easy though. The space is much bigger than expected, and includes a kitchen area and washroom, plus 2 separate bedrooms. Essential toiletries and towels were provided. Real Canadian Superstore is located within walking distance and Walmart is not far a drive away either. Free coffee/tea is provided in the reception area. Wifi connection is good, but not sure why half of my devices couldn't connect. There were still students staying for the summer and could be a bit loud, but the night was quiet and we slept well. The lock was not working too well though but nothing WD40 cannot resolve. I would not hesitate to book such school arrangement again.
With the exception of the clueless girl at the check-in counter our stay was fine. She wasted about 45 minutes of our time with misinformation about the laundry facilities. A note to other travellers: please be aware that the laundry room does not accept coins. It is not located just upstairs, but rather a 5 minute walk down a maze of hallways. There are no signs to guide you to it. The prepaid system has a minimum of a $10 charge, which is 4 times too much if you only have one load! We were told the opposite of these statements by the check in staff. The management should better train their staff.
I didn't know what to expect when I booked a room here, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's not fancy, it's basic but it's clean, comfortable and spacious and includes a continental breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed to stay in Sudbury during the summer months. The price certainly was right! I've paid more for less in a hotel room.
The price was very reasonable and included a basic continental breakfast. Everything is basic but okay. The units with two bedrooms also have a private bathroom and a room with a table, refridgerator, sink and a microwave oven. The double beds are quite comfortable, and the place is clean and it was quieter than most hotels. I would go here again if I visit Sudbury again.
The postal address of 1390 Barrydown Rd, is totally useless in finding this location in a car. Set your GPS to find 46 31.6015N and 80 56.4576W or find the intersection of Goverors Rd and Lamonthe St on a map. It is the first building entrance west of that intersection. Other directions that may help would be to take Lasalle Blvd to Paquette St. Go one block north, and turn left at the stop sign. Follow Lamonthe until you see the residence on your right. Other than that, this is a college residence and it is basic. No TV, so bring a book. Check in was fine, and everything else is as advertised. No room temperature control, you will have to be flexible about your comfort. The walls have paint missing from where the students hung their posters. In summary, you get what you pay for, and this is fine for me.…
This is the Residence for Cambrian College. For $76 per night it is a GREAT deal. Breakfast was basic but for the price was good. The rooms were clean and spacious. Very close to the mall. We will stay again!
