I stayed here for a week while on a business trip. My room was clean and quiet, my two favourite things in a hotel! The staff were all friendly and attentive. The breakfast was decent, enough to get me started in the morning. The parking was ample. The pool was very nice and I enjoyed the hot tub. There are lots of local amenities and restaurants near the hotel, although only a few places are within walking distance.
Great location! Our room was clean with a nicely outfitted, functional kitchenette. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the pool every morning before breakfast, unfortunately the slide wasn't open at that time of day, which was very disappointing, we were looking forward to the slide which was one of the reasons we chose this location. The breakfast was the typical standard fare, so if you require healthier choices; dairy-free yogurt & dairy-free milk or fresh fruit, bring your own to add to what is on offer. The restaurant next door, M.I.C. is fantastically Canadian and gives a discount for hotel guests.
We travel to Sudbury often and always try to stay at one of the Marriott locations. Everything is usually perfect. The most recent trip- we weren’t offered a room upgrade (elite status) and they changed the breakfast meat to turkey bacon. I sure hope they change it back to real bacon or sausages before we go back next month. If turkey bacon is a must- please do a split warmer and offer both! Overall good stay- but thumbs down on that bacon! Fix that please!
This was a great experience for our family. A much needed get away. The pool was so clean, with lots of sitting. During the long weekend we seen a life guard basically from 9am. for the waterslide, but the pool is that nice, you could easily go with out and still have lots of fun. The breakfast was fantastic. Big selection, with buffet, homemade waffles, fresh fruit. The rooms are big, well placed with a great kitchenette. Staff was so accommodating, and we, (a family of 5) put them to the test. They had an out door area that we all sat at while using the BBQ, so that was awesome. I know our next vacation will include this Hotel. Thanks to all the staff, I know you put up with a lot, especially from the kids.
Right from when you walk in and right up to your room, this Hotel is clean. The breakfast and bar area are always spotless. The pool area was the same. We liked that compared to other Hotels we have stayed at, this one had somewhere to sit for the parents. Over the weekend they had a life guard on duty from basically 9am. I found the staff to be very accommodating, and always went over and above for us. And us (family of 5) put them to the test. The breakfast is also something for all. They have everything from fresh fruit, to homemade waffles, with buffet. So, great job to all of them, and I look forward to making this a definite place to come back to.
Right from the parking lot. This was one of the cleanest hotels we stayed at in a long time. The staff was so patient and accommodating. I loved how clean the rooms were, and especially the pool area. Unlike other places, there was a lot of chairs to sit on, and during the busy hours a lifeguard for the waterslide. Actually on the weekend the lifeguard was at the pool at 9am. Breakfast was also a hit with the kids. They had waffles you could make, and lots of other items from toast to bagels, cereal etc. Just a great experience for anyone looking to get away.
The point of making a reservation is to ensure that a room is reserved for you when you arrive. I had made not one, but TWO separate calls to confirm that the room I had booked was available and will be ready for when we arrive. (Reservation Confirmation# 70456919) My party consists of children and dogs, which make it even more critical to plan ahead. The first call (4:07 pm, Aug 30th), I had a very pleasant female take the call and even give me advice on checking in with two dogs. On the second call (9:17 pm, Aug 30th) I had made the call specifically to say we will arrive at midnight and will that be a problem for checking in? The gentleman that took the call very breezily said no problem. They check in all the way to 3 am. Our room will be ready upon arrival. Upon arrival at 12:03 am, I am told the room on the 4th floor that was supposed to be ours was ‘for whatever reason, no longer available’ and that they had no phone number on file that they could reach me to tell me this. I did not book through a third party site. I booked DIRECTLY through the Marriott website, which asks for name, phone number, email, home address, credit card information, pillow preference, feather free room, how high up I want my room, if I want to be near an elevator, amongst many other options. I’m very surprised to hear they ‘didn’t have a phone number to reach me at’ to tell me the room I had called twice to confirm was available was, for reasons unknown, not actually available. For the parents of kids or pets out there, being turned away at midnight to try my luck at another hotel is not what most people want to hear. Thank goodness Travelodge at 1401 Paris St was able to accommodate us. I was given the business card of the manager and front desk manager in case I wanted to contact them. I’m not sure what good that will do, as the room that was booked was needed for tonight, not next week. So good luck with your reservations. Apparently it’s a 50/50 chance that you’ll get a room when you arrive.…
The kids slide isn’t working. Wasn’t mentioned anywhere. The hot tub either. Had hair on our sheets. Blinking light in the bathroom. No water pressure in the shower. Rooms are equipped but very outdated yellowish. Breakfast is ok. Beds are comfortable.
Don’t fall for the water slide photographs. It’s closed and just disappointing the kids who can see it from the parking lot. The room is nice and average. The kitchen is well equipped. The shower is small and the water pressure was low. The staff was nice and friendly and tried their best to accommodate requests.
My family and I have stayed here several times and love it. We visit a disabled family member who's in a care home in the area. Last month I booked but we caught covid. Normally I book through booking.com or Expedia apps. This time I booked through the hotel. I had until 11pm on the Wednesday to cancel. I canceled and received a confirmation text at 230pm on the Wednesday. I was surprised to see I was charged for this room. I called the hotel fully expecting this to easily be sorted as we go here quite often. I spoke to a young fellow who put me on hold while he spoke to his supervisor Nicole, he came back on the line and I was told there was no refund. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me she had just left..... I called the head office, they could see I had canceled at 230 on the Wednesday, so they gave me a case number and I was told the property would contact me in 2-3 days. It's been 2 weeks. I called again today. I waited 25 min on hold, so I hung up and called the Reservation 1-800 number. I opted for a call back option as the wait time was estimated over 10 minutes. I received a call back and the gentleman said he couldn't help and transferred me. I waited 25 more minutes for an agent. I explained the above, again thinking it wouldn't be a problem. She put me on hold for 20 more minutes!!!! Someone picked up and said 'hi can I help you'. I explained I was being helped and waiting for the lady to come back to the call. She replied that her name is Kristy and she's a supervisor and that there were no refunds. So I asked her why I received a cancelation confirmation text and why I would bother to cancel a non-refundable room.- I've never heard of this. She answered " why did you bother?" And then....... she hung up. She hung up!!!!!! That's it. That's all. Paid for a room, didn't travel with covid, followed the rules. 5 phone calls, over 1 hour of time spent to be spoken to so rudely and hung up on. I'm a reasonable person. This is so unacceptable. I'm so so so disappointed and feel like they don't care about their guests at all. We are traveling up again this weekend now that we are covid free, I will find another hotel to stay at.…
