The room was top notch, very clean and roomy. The hotel its self has a wonderful old world atmosphere. The mineral pool and hot-tubs are great. The service is excellent. The Snug Pub has very good cocktails and my mussels were very good.

Hotel's Favorite
After a wonderful two nights stay, there is not doubt as to why the hotel is so highly rated in Canada and globally. It has been the best experience I’ve had at a hotel of this calibre. Everyone on staff who we engaged with was friendly, helpful and competent. Exceptional and friendly service without pretension. The food in both The Snug pub and the Dining Room is outstanding. The rooms are well appointed and gloriously comfortable beds. We spent almost two full hours in the mineral pools which was a treat after a crisp morning waterfront run. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful 1 night stay to celebrate my best friend's birthday. There was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in the room on arrival to celebrate which was a lovely thoughtful touch. The room was comfortable and the beds were amazing! We appreciated the mini-fridge and Nespresso machine and the bath products were lovely (including bath salts to enjoy in the soaker tub) We had a great meal at The Snug with a view over the water and enjoyed the mineral pools at night. Can't wait to return

My husband and I have been visiting the Oak Bay Resort for many years, even when it was the older hotel! It is our haven and happy place. We come yearly, and perhaps twice a year when we can. The staff are very welcoming, and highly professional. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and placed in one of the most magnificent Ocean settings. Delicious food is served in the Snug Pub, as well as Faro’s ,who have recently added some wonderful new items to their pizza menu. And the mineral bath and spa overlooking the ocean is a great asset and one of our favourite spots. The hotel rooms are very spacious with big soaker tubs, and dreamy pillows and bedding. There are wonderful walks from the hotel . Within about 30 minutes you can be strolling along Willows Beach, or shopping in the delightful Oak Bay or Estevan Villages. What a great treat to go here!

First time staying at this property. Had been to the Spa before so knew how wonderful the mineral pool and hot tubs were. I watched whales and seals from my poolside lounger! We stayed in a room on the “residential” side. Really not much to look at and no balconies on that side. I was disappointed that the hotel put guests in rooms right next to each other when clearly the hotel was at very low capacity. I’m sure that works well for cleaning rooms all in a row, but doesn’t make the stay feel very special. At night you could see there was entire floor of the hotel with no one staying in those rooms. FYI- if you are wandering around naked in your rooms on the Oceanside of the hotel, you are 100% visible by the pool patrons. I prefer to watch the wildlife but did happen to notice one person who was clearly enjoying their morning view!

Response from Shane Gould, Other at Oak Bay Beach Hotel
Responded 2 weeks ago
Dear tiaragirl, Thank you for choosing the Oak Bay Beach. It was our absolute pleasure to welcome you and be of service. I am glad we impressed you with our Mineral Pools on the edge of the Salish Sea. Our three heated outdoor pools are the perfect way to relax and unwind. On your next visit, I highly recommend booking a room from our prestigious collection in ‘Our Best’ category. These stunning hand selected rooms offer a complete unobstructed view of the ocean plus private balcony. Additionally, located on the second floor with a Juliette balcony, we offer north-facing partial ocean view guest rooms. We strongly encourage reservations in advance to avoid disappointment. Our in-house Reservations team can be contacted directly at 1-800-668-7758. It is our hope you allow us another opportunity to be of service in the near future. With appreciation, Shane Gould Hotel Operations Manager 250-940-0301 sgould@oakbaybeachhotel.com

We stayed for 3 days for a birthday celebration. Our room was large ,well decorated and furnished with a lovely soaking tub. The heated mineral water pool was delightful on a cool April Day . The spa services were really well appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful across the board . We ate in both the pizza restaurant and the pub . Both great. Carpaccio at pizza place was amazing . We told our waiter Henry we were celebrating a birthday . Just before dessert he brought out a small delightful plate of macaroons and a birthday chocolate . Very subtle , the perfect touch !! Great service The lovely stay complemented some great walks along the shore , a customary visit to the incredible Butchart gardens and an interesting excursion to Malahat skywalk.

Took my family, wife, daughter, grandson (10 months old) and two year old puppy to stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. We stayed in a dog friendly Garden Suite which had a ocean view. The room was perfect as it had a mini kitchen and a private deck. Because of the room location my wife and daughter were able to walk to the mineral pools and spa while I stayed in the room to mind my grandson and puppy. All dog owners should stay in these units as they will have easy assess to take their dog for a walk any time of the day or night. The Hotel also provided my puppy with a VIP package, dog bed, food and water bowls and doggie treats! We dined at Faros, Snug Pub and Dining Room, food and service was great however we could only eat in the dining room with our Grandson because of liquor laws. All staff were very polite and courteous. We will be back!

The resort is now run run by part time staff. I have stayed at oak bay resort many many times and watch the massive turnover in all levels of service. To bad I spent a ton of money and invited many friends to enjoy. I won’t be back.

This hotel offers up a relaxing and rejuvenating escape in a serene seaside setting. We were in a one bedroom suite with ocean views. The well appointed room offers up he following: - A kitchen with a min fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, sink. Includes a Nespresso maker, kettle, toaster, dishes glassware and cutlery, pots and pans. - Living room, small dining table with TV. - Bedroom with comfortable bed, TV - Large bathroom with water closet, two sinks, soaking tub, and large shower. Though we did not use the highly rated spa, we did use the heated mineral pool and hot tubs which overlook the sea. Our ocean view room was on the left side of the hotel, with rooftops in the forefront and distant views of the marina. The room had a Juliet balcony from the living room and bedroom. Next time (yes will return) will look to get a room on the backside of the hotel overlooking the pools and ocean. The hotel is situated Olivia on Oak Bay, about 20 minutes from downtown Victoria, so you do want a car to get around. Book directly with the hotel and you have parking in the secured underground parkade.

What a great place to go to as a couples getaway. We felt welcomed and cared for by staff the whole time we were there. Our room was very nice and the bed was comfortable, we could watch a large tv from a deep tub if we wanted to, it had a large shower, the kitchen was a great addition but lacked a frying pan and was a little small. The mineral pools were the best went there 4x’s a day the spa treatments were relaxing and a great experience. Beautiful hotel and views. We will definitely go back there again.
