Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Downtown Suites receives accolades for its central location, making it a convenient base for urban exploration. Guests consistently commend the hotel's cleanliness and the comfortable, modern rooms.
The service also stands out, with the staff's promptness and friendliness frequently mentioned, although there have been occasional remarks about less responsive service. Despite praise for the amenities and atmosphere, opinions on room size and value diverge, with some guests finding the rooms cramped and the hotel's rates, including parking fees, on the higher side.

Detailed Reviews
Have you ever looked forward to sharing a lovely hotel room with your partner then found that one of you disturbs the sleep of the other and, unlike at home, there is no escaping to second bedroom? We have found our Vancouver answer in this tucked away great hotel. All rooms are actually suites with doors separating the bedroom from a living area with pullout sofa bed. The location was fantastic - 10 minutes walk from downtown and a few minutes from Waterfront Station and Gastown. Lots of food choices - even a pho takeout below the hotel on Hastings that was great. And with the suites you can bring your food home and not sit in your bedroom to eat! This was a great feature during covid times. Rooms and all areas were spotless and staff were so friendly and helpful - when we left something in the room they found it right away and helped us arrange for a courier to return it to us. For the price of one decent hotel room we can now both get a good night's sleep. Bliss! Thanks Alison and Brad, see you next time we are in Town!

First time in Vancouver and I really enjoyed my stay at the Delta. The room was a good size and had a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly as well. The hotel is located near Gastown, very close to restaurants and the water - but not so close that it's loud or busy. The room also had a nice view of the harbour.
Parking was $39 per night and located in a public garage directly next to the hotel. Seems par for the course for downtown in a major city.
Given covid policies, there was no daily room cleaning and you need to give 24 hours notice if you needed it. This wasn't a big deal for us. The hotel did seem a little short staffed, we were mostly on our own with our luggage. Given it's a downtown location, there is very little room to pull in to unload from a car/cab.
This was our first time, but definitely not our last. I would definitely return to the Delta.

In addition to the amazing service by ALL of the hotel staff, the location was perfect! Walking distance to main sites and just a 5-7 minute walk to the rail station to attractions that were outside of the city. Also near the free shuttles to Capilano suspension bridge (Canada Place was the closest shuttle stop). There was no Lyft or Uber service (yet) but a load of taxi's roaming about so transport was quite easy. The hotel is also walking distance to the ferry (best to use cash) so you can hop on and visit Granville Island (...or take a taxi but that would be less fun). There is also a direct rail line from the aeroport to the hotel (Waterfront stop).
Stayed in the king suite with partial view on the 19th floor. Room was well appointed and clean. The view was nice too! There was a separate living space and the sofa had an option to convert into a full size bed (not sure about the comfort level). The bed however, was really comfortable, like sleeping on clouds. The hotel keeper kept the bathroom and mini coffee station fully stocked. Excellent visit overall and would definitely stay here again!

My stay was good. The hotel is nice. The room was clean. The staff provided great service. The reason for my 3 star review is:
I was very surprised and disturbed that room service was served in disposable black plastic containers with black plastic disposable cutlery (which was wrapped in plastic!) rather than real plates and cutlery, which can be washed and re-used. This is not the level of service I expect from a hotel of this caliber. Frankly I’ve never had room service in any hotel that was served on disposables. If I wanted “take out” I would not have ordered room service.
Furthermore, I am seriously disturbed by the amount of waste this hotel must generate using disposable containers for room service and giving out so much bottled water. Black plastic is not recyclable so it all goes into the landfill.
When I checked in I was asked if I wanted to participate in the hotel’s “green program” and decline housekeeping. Given your hotel’s decision to use so many disposables, it seems that this “green program” is more about saving money on paying your housekeepers rather than your commitment to reducing your environmental impact. Rather hypocritical and does not reflect well on your brand.
Please stop serving room service on disposables and distributing so much bottled water! This is an obvious way to reduce your impact. The world is dying. Please let’s stop contributing to it wherever we can reduce our environmental impact.

In June 2017 I rated this property a "4" and was broadly positive about the experience, which is what prompted a return. This time, it was a miss and a bit embarrassing having brought along some travel buddies.
The location of the Delta is good and will meet all downtown needs. Check in was very friendly. The disappointment started once we got to the room, a one bedroom suite. Our issues were...
1. The room was large, very large, and the bathroom was tiny, for no reason other than terrible design. It did not provide room for two people to get ready at once. To access the sink, you needed to stand on the toilet, because the basin was installed on the wrong side. And the bathroom door and shower door could not be open at the same time.
2. The shower leaked to the floor. Turning on the shower wasn't possible without getting sprayed with cold water.
3. The towels were thinner and less welcoming than my old school gym towels
4. The toilet paper was thinner and less welcoming than the towels
5. All of the pillows were very high/thick... though when we called down, a better quality one was brought quickly and made a world of difference
6. There is no ceiling lighting. Getting the room light was an arduous process of finding multiple lamps and turning them on one by one.
7. The fridge was empty
8. We woke to construction noise from the adjacent development
With that out of the way, the things to like are that it is clean, well located and friendly. So pick your poison: this is a cookie-cutter hotel that will make many people happy, but the shape of the cookie wasn't right for us this time. We relocated to the Douglas for our final night, at a comparative rate.

Thank you for your feedback. I am very disappointed to hear that you did not find the bed comfortable and the bathroom to be small and not well organized. I have passed this information along to our Housekeeping team and relevant departments to investigate. I am sorry to hear that you did not feel that our product and offerings reflected the price for your stay, although I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the location of the hotel! I loved staying here. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because their king suite "city view" was of other buildings and not a great view of the city like the picture on this page, and because the lobby was so overpowered with some kind of perfume, deodorizer, potpourri, something. The smell almost makes you sick if you are in the lobby too long. I am all about having the hotel smell good but this was WAY too much. Other than that the place was great. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the location is fantastic, walking distance to so many restaurants and there are usually yellow cabs waiting at the hotel in case you need one. The King Suite was perfect for my husband and myself and our son. It's roomy and so nice to have a separate bedroom so we could close the door and watch tv at night after my son went to bed. I highly recommend staying here. One other item to note, they do have room service but it's basically take out from their restaurant. It was still good but just a heads up if you are expecting the room svc experience on a tray w/real plates and cutlery, it comes in TO GO containers in a brown bag. :)

Just one block from the skytrain and only a short walk to Gastown. Our Urban Suite was great for our 8 night stay. The staff was excellent. With covid maid service is not offered daily but anything we asked for arrived amazingly quickly. We did not have any noise problems but the rooms did not seem to be very soundproof. There were "street people" just outside the Hastings Street doors and if this bothers you it could be a problem. We spend a lot of time in Vancouver and are no longer affected by this. We have been staying in another hotel for years and decided to try the Delta, we have already booked our next stay.

We (family of 3) stayed 5 nights in the one-bedroom suite, it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The kitchenette area was very handy to have.
Service was great. Internet connection in the bedroom was great as well. Anything we needed was delivered to our bedroom within minutes of asking.
The hotel staff is supper friendly and they helped us with every request we had.
The hotel is located 1 block from the SkyTrain Waterfront station. If you fly into Vancouver, the trip takes less than 30 mins from the airport. the SkyTrain is the easiest way to get to the hotel.

Came to Vancouver with family for a long-deferred vacation trip. Check-in was smooth and room was spacious, modern and comfortable (not always true of "modern" rooms). Bed was excellent, we had all needed conveniences. Heating and A/C was responsive and so quiet. Breakfasts were included in our package and were first rate and prepared to order (none of this plastic-wrapped scrambled eggs packages that have passed for breakfast in some other hotels). Very friendly and attentive staff. As for security, there was an attended desk at entrance and room key needed for elevator. Outside the streets had pedestrians around days and evening. Very good experience overall and I would return if in Vancouver.

We stayed here for a couple of nights before our Alaskan cruise. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. All the employees we encountered were friendly and we really enjoyed the on-site restaurant, which we had dinner at one night. The hotel was also easy to find - we took the train from the airport all the way to downtown (Waterfront Station) and it was a short walk from there. We were also able to easily walk to the cruise port as it was only about 5 min away. I was on the fence about booking a hotel closer to the port, but I'm glad we went with this hotel since it was a bit cheaper than those closer to the water, and still very nice with a convenient location. We did notice a few homeless people hanging around the side of the hotel near the entrance we would use to go in and out, but I think that just comes with being in the city.
