This hotel was booked by my travel company. When I checked in they took a deposit from my card, which they then did not return, despite my not spending anything on ' incidentals'. I contacted them 3 times before I got a response, when they told me that they had charged me for late check out, which I didn't, and had returned the rest of my deposit ,which they haven't. They attached an invoice and my arrival and departure dates did not even match the dates I stayed there. I am not impressed and have raised a dispute via my credit card company. Not acceptable. If I walked out of the hotel without paying for services, I would be arrested for theft, yet this place keeps your deposit and no one seems to care!

We were a little nervous as we had never been to Vancouver and not knowing the area … I can’t say enough nice things about the Sutton place hotel… from the moment we got here when they took our bags to the desk staff and restaurant everything was amazing!! An upscale vibe, with a casual feel….Burrard St has really amazing shopping and restaurants The room was gorgeous and immaculate and the city view was fantastic! The hotel is within walking distance of everything and is even a stop in the hop on hop off tour which was really convenient. We really loved this hotel and city and will be back !

We checked in around 10am on 28th May. We didn't get a room until 4.30pm when their guaranteed check in was 4pm. Room 714 was filthy, not cleaned, carpets dusty and was not vacuum cleaned. Moved us to room 904 which again was rushed cleaned and room phone was broken and not working. No tea or sugar in the room. Ordered breakfast in room in the morning, it arrived but items missing. Called front desk no response. I would say stay way from here, it's not worth the price they charge.

Excellent location. Very clean. The room we had was recently upgraded so ask for those rooms. The pool could use an upgrade. The staff especially the doorman during the day was very friendly and helpful!

Our travel company booked in the UK Barrhead Travel booked us into this hotel as part of a tour.I will not use them again. They paid for the hotel and on arrival the hotel insisted on a credit card. On check out they confirmed there was no charge. However, our card was then charged and they refuse to refund the money or even explain what they charged for. My correspondence is just ignored. Unfortunately we are returning next week so I am waiting for that visit to see what they charge and then complain to my card company. This hotel cannot be trusted. The customer service is non existent.

Basic hotel, the concierge, doormen and bellmen were great. Front desk left a lot to be desired. Asked for the gm to call me back as we waited 4 hours past checkin time to get our room. I was told that the gm doesn’t call guests back so there’s no point in asking for her, it’s better to ask for the manager on duty if I wanted a resolution. I was shocked to hear that. Boulevard restaurant was phenomenal, incredible service matched with even better service.

The Sutton is a great location. The rooms are comfortable. The shower seemed new and big and the shower heads are deluxe. The restaurant is really expensive but the Thai food restaurant across the street is awesome. Walking distance of Robison street. The pool area is old and needs repair and a make over.

Beware if you choose this hotel. Items lost are considered lost forever. The hotel would not take responsibility. I encountered this unfortunate incident earlier this month. The hotel insisted that their housekeeping is "passionate". But I doubt so.
