It's a nice place with good staff, people are always ready to help everyone, there's quite a big clean swimming pool with saul water. They clean your room every day, prepare several variants of breakfast, support you to solve every question such as looking for a good massager or transfer your anywhere. But my favorite place was a library upstairs, where I could have my yoga or time alone for reading and relaxing. Thank you, White Chocolate Hills Resort :)

We went to Dumaguete for a friends visit, and she recommended this resort. We came ahead of check in time, the area is very clean & quite but refused to check in us early..though we understand as part of resorts policy. After 15min of waiting they let us check in early :)

I like the pool bar cozy and quiet , I’m a pizza person and their pizza is to die for. They managed also our take away breakfast since our flight for the next day is so early.

We really enjoyed our stay at white chocolate hills resort. The stuff takes a lot of care to the garden, the area around the pool and the bar. Everything is very clean and decorated with love and style. The rooms are very nice, clean, nice decorated and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is very big. It was definitely the best place we stayed within the last two weeks! Thanks a lot 😀

Stayed there for 7 nights and will definitely visit again. All the staff were very efficient and friendly, lovely pool, access to a clean beach, good food (especially the pizzas from a real pizza oven). Spotlessly clean resort and rooms and good value.

Place is 1 and half hour travel from the Airport - then when we arrive at the hotel, we are not allowed to use their tables and chairs to eat our meals (outside food) and one of the crew even told us to just eat on the floor - very nice isn't? The friend of the owner told us that they are a luxury hotel but the pillow, and bedding is just like what you see in usual budget hotels.

Our experience in this place change our point of view about the people in Dumaguete - we were told that people there are gentle, but its very opposite of what they show to us.

You may still try to stay here if you want to learn how to dive, facilities are okay our room has wide comfort room, but don't expect good quality foods, quite expensive I should say. Resort to Apo Island takes 15 minutes using speedboat but be ready for 15 minutes non-stop shower.

P.S.
Transportation from hotel to resort and vice versa is not free, they charge 1000 pesos per trip.

What a precious gem of a resort! After six years in the Philippines you know that resorts are either terribly overpriced (compared to other Southeast Asian countries) or the service is poor, the food is cumbersome, you can only swim when there is high tide because of the corals or seaweed; or a combination of all of it!
And then we found this brand new resort which met all our requirements! Construction quality is superb (you can see that the owner is from Austria) and so is design and landscaping. From the bar you have an unparalleled view over the pool towards the sea (see my photo) and you will have no problem to sit there all day and enjoy the view, an (always!) ice cold beer or the presumably best Pinacolada in the Philippines! Rooms and bathrooms are top standard – nothing to complain about. The sandy beach is not white but the water is crystal clear (without the algae which nowadays bother us so often in Boracay) and there are no stones, corals or seaweed.
The Filipino chef prepares excellent Western and Filipino food - we stuffed ourselves with Wiener Schnitzel, pork BBQ ribs, delicious prawns and many good things more! The hospitality of the owners Bea and Guenter is unparalleled and the friendliness and attentiveness of all the young local staff – from housekeeping to the girls behind the bar is special and can’t be valued high enough.
We will be back as soon as possible – hopefully before the end of the year (as we like to see the new beach bar which should be completed mid December!).

Good Morning from your friends at White Chocolate Hills Resort! IT's good to hear from you again, and such wonderful words, too! We really appreciate your review, and we're very glad you had a wonderful time. Our bar staff is fantastic, so our drinks are always top notch!...our favorite is also definitely the Pina Colada, as well as the delicious Blue Margarita... so yummy and cold on a hot tropical day! Thank you for mentioning our beach, as well. we take a lot of pride in our beach, we make sure it is cleaned every day so there is no debris or rocks, and we're extremely lucky to have such clear water to swim in and explore!.....did you get to see our corals? Its our best kept secret! Hope to see you again in December, we'll keep the beers cold for you at the beach bar!

We stayed on White Chocolate hills for 5 days this year. Must say the hotel is very beautiful and clean. The staff is very professional and polite, BUT the female staff in the restaurant has to learn to leave the guests children alone while eating. All 5 days we had problems with getting the children to eat because the female staff had to touch and disrupted the children every time they passed our table. This made eating very uncomfortable for the family.
The hotel has way to many rules, e.x. you are not allowed to bring water or anything else into the hotel, not even Your 0,5 L. Traveling water. We got 4 x 0,5L water a day for free at the hotel and bought the rest in the minibar for 50 php for 0,5L (2017 numbers). At other luxury hotels (Plantation bay) or our trip we got 4L a day or even 25L in our room for free (Linaw - Bohol), so step up and be luxury, you have the surroundings

White Chocolate Hills is a newly built resort (6 months old) with modern stone cottages + spacious bathrooms with great panorama window. Perfect for couples to spend some quiet days in a very clean resort either at the big pool or at the beach in front of the resort.
The quality of food is very good especially the western food has real western taste, which you don't find often in such small resorts. The very nice owners Bea and Guenter dropped us to a nearby dive resort for a diving trip to Apo Island.
Absolutely recommendable resort!

Good Morning Ma'am Lisa K! We're happy to hear from you, and we thank you for your review! We're very glad to hear you had a good time here...did you manage to get any good pictures from your diving trip to Apo? Our food is very Western-taste, would you believe our kitchen staff are all Filipino?! They're top notch at creating mouth-watering flavours, thanks for mentioning it! Hope to see you soon, back here at White Chocolate Hills Resort!

Decided to stay at this resort based on the reviews on trip advisor. The resort itself is beautiful and clean with manicured gardens. The pool was nice. The rooms were okay. However, the receptionist tried to sell us a room more than the price listed on the website. Of course, I ended booking through expedia. We had a 5 year old stay overnight, the receptionist charged us for that extra person as much as it cost to book another room. We were charged 1, 200 pesos for a 5-year old. I have never encountered any hotels in the Philippines that has a fee that high for a child. We told them we did not need an extra bed for the child, they brought in a massive bed anyways. My family enjoyed our time at the pool. Service was super slow, food was ok. Will not stay there again. I recommend the hotel for a day use.

Wonderful resort, great staff but the owner and his ridiculous rules spoil what would be otherwise a great place.. constantly watching staff and guests to ensure rules are not broken... more like a prison warden than resort owner.
