I came here for 19 nights to rest up and go diving. The diving is superb - I love macro and am a photographer - some amazing critters to photograph. This is probably one of the all round best diving resorts I have ever been to. It’s not the welcome you receive - although that is excellent. It’s not the quality, furnishings, comfort of the rooms - although that is excellent. It’s not the layout of the resort - with cottages around the excellent pool - although that is excellent. It’s not the amazing restaurant and bar with the most extensive and reasonably priced menu - although that is excellent. It’s not the dive centre with modern equipment, excellent training facilities, convenient rinse tanks, storage area and camera room - although those are excellent. It’s not the dive boats with their spacious facilities and shelter from all weather conditions - although those are excellent. If it was just everything listed above you would give this a 4 or 5 - because everything above is excellent. What makes the difference here is the people. The owner - Patrick shows true leadership - is always around during peak times - waves every boat off, greets them back, always supporting his people. The people genuinely care about you and alter their service to suit your needs. Nothing is too much trouble. It is the people that make the difference here. To Patrick and the the team - I salute you all. What you have created here over 35 years is truly special and unique. Thank you…
My most favourite place in all the Philippines. I love to come back again and again. Great location. Friendly, helpful , smiling staff. First class diving, excellent food, comfy accommodation far from the crowds. Hope to see you again soon.
Took advantage of great direct booking rate for a couple nights staycation. Smooth check-in, room spotless, bed very comfortable and the shower was hot with pressure strong. Quiet AC in room. Restaurant food was really good, grounds were well maintained and the pool was a good size. Impressed and we'll be back.
We are not divers, we just wanted to have a pleasant relaxing stay, and it was!! Very efficient pickup from airport, easy checkin with tour of the resort, and we settled into our room. Very spacious, huge bathroom, everything worked well, comfortable bed. Just a couple of observations: the stench of the drains each afternoon was a shame, and as we were next to the dive shop, the clanging of air bottles started quite early. We ate at the restaurant every day, it was from good to excellent! One organised trip to the town to have a look, well organised and they found another couple to share the cost. Excellent. The proprietor, Patrick, is always around making sure things are working well, and always checks to see how you are. Fantastic.
Been to Thalatta Resort many times over the years; short visits, bringing family from abroad, longer stays, walk-in from time to time. Just got to let that patè slowly melt on my tongue from time to time! Been to other resorts in the neighborhood too. It would not be a surprise to experience some variation in quality of food and service over a period of a decade - and there has been. Only not at Thalatta. It seems there is only one rating valid for this resort: Just perfect. And it is just that. Every time.
This resort was best where I ever stayed. Rooms were comfortable and clear. Staff was very helpful and smiling. Owner Patric was also helpful. Diving on Apo island was wonderful. Highly recommend. Nice place to stay.
We really enjoyed the staying here. Felt like in paradise. And everyone was very friendly - felt really like expected guests. Although it is more oriented to divers, we enjoyed a lot. We could do snorkeling and just enjoy the amazing pool. Hope to come back someday.
Stayed in the Condor a bit from the resort, very nice for families, 2 bedroom appartment :-) Very friendly and helpsom staff, both reception, bar/restaurant, cleaning and everyone else working there! Nice quiet relaxing atmosphere. Short walk from the local life and small shops (market wednesday's).
We have been using the facilities at Thalatta Resort for our extended stay. The quality of the dive team is second to none. The dive masters have X-ray eyes spotting the smallest critters while the boat crews cannot do enough for you. Whether going to Apo Island, along the coast to Dauin or to my favourite the Thalatta House Reef you will be looked after by the best team the Philippines has to offer. The food in the restaurant is also fantastic. The chef and staff have been so kind to us. Thalatta staff make the Resort. It feels like you are staying with a family full of warmth and friendly smiles. If you want to visit this area Thalatta Resort is THE place to come.
Great ambience, beautiful cottages and fresh seabreeze. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Wifi was intermittent at that time. Staff service was great! The breakfast is so good, my favorite was the pancake (crepe style) and various fresh juice options. It’s a five minute walk to the port going to Apo Island so that was the main reason we stayed here. It’s easy to commute coming from Dumaguete, but when going back it may take time waiting for the bus. Overall a great deal!
