Well maintained small boutique resort with well appointed European style rooms Beautiful outlook looking towards Apo Island Clean and stylish swimming pool Restaurant is well appointed and ordered food was good with reasonable prices I didn’t dive but dive centre seemed well equipped and they did a day trip to Apo whilst I was there . Cons Firstly the management who I believe are Russian. Upon arrival and throughout the 3 days I never was once accorded any friendly greeting or even a hello from I understand is the manager and his wife. If you own a resort then you must embrace your guests . The staff are friendly but I had the feeling that the management may make them feel uncomfortable and therefore not display the true Filipino friendless The breakfast is very basic . Coffee is almost undrinkable. Not pleasant having a dog fight beside my breakfast table one morning. Seems the owner feels it’s his own pet playground with his own barking dog . Have been in the Phillipines several months and understand the culture with dogs but this is unacceptable. They overlooked cleaning the room one day when I was out and therefore requested it be cleaned as I had dinner that evening Hammocks are made of local bamboo and are too small and unkept Internet is very poor and requires a new code voucher daily. Situated next to houses so expect barking dogs Overall I would have given this resort a higher rating if not for the management . Change the management and this resort would or could be substantially improved. I hope the owners and management take ownership of these issues.…
Beautiful well maintained small resort overlooking Apo Island ..well laid out rooms super clean and comfortable.. Staff very attentive and enjoyed the food and drinks they have on menu..Tour to Apo Island highly recommend booked through resort..Diving and snorkeling was amazing ...would definately come back again ..Abit out of the way from town so it was a great place just to chill out and relax ..
The place is is well- maintained, cozy and perfect for our staycation. Great for couples, friends or families. the photos are accurate. It's veautiful! Lots of spaces are available for lounging and introspection. The food was yummy! Just what we needed for a quick break! I also love the interiors and the curtains are lovely. I love the details in the comfort room - we can control which kind of shower to use, we were given 1 bath towel and 1 beach towel per person and the availability of a blower was a huge plus for us! I appreciate the attention given to the details in that room. Kudos to the staff - Cherry, Moon, Christian and Marinel! These people are so accomodating and sweet! Requests are easily granted with big smiles on their faces. Thank you! Say hi to Milo for us. ♥️ 4 stars because: 1. Great coffee can make someone's day. The restaurant's brewed coffee has a lot of room for improvement. 2. Prices for transfers could still be adjusted. 3. Accessibility for seniors or PWDs are not yet in place (although I'm sure the staff would be more than happy to assist just in case) 4. This is totally out of the hotel's control so it's understandable but there was this annoying sound (motor) running in the background the whole morning while we were trying to listen to sound of the waves by the shore lol! Overall, it was a great experience for us! We'd love to stay a little longer or come back next time.…
BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! We spent 3 weeks in 8 accommodations, and this is the only one we weren't happy with! BEWARE - tax is charged on top of the price that you see online. This is not the same for Philippine-owned hotels, only for this Russian-owned hotel. RUSSIAN OWNER ARGUED WITH ME OVER FOOD - in a painful situation that I struggle to forget, I ordered ribs. The smallest portion of ribs you've ever seen came out, and I ate them. I then asked if that was a full portion or not, and suggested that it must have been a starter portion. The female Russian owner came over and argued the toss with me for 20 mins at the table! I tried to back out of it and say I'd pay, but she wanted to continue to make my night even more depressing. DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL! Ok, from the top... the place has a depressing atmosphere. The Russian owners are always sat, smoking in the non-smoking area, creating a strange, unfriendly atmosphere in the outdoor restaurant. People in the Philippines are happy, but all of the staff here seem depressed! The waitresses can't forge a smile, and the reception staff can't even manage to make a phone call to find a boat to the next island for you. We tried for 45 mins, and I ended up working it out myself! Some of the portions of food are small and EXTORTIONATELY over-priced. Wild dogs bark all night, like you've never heard in your life. The diving instructors are the most work-shy we saw in the Philippines. We attended a scuba trip just to snorkel on Apo Island, and unfortunately the instructors tried to end the trip after just two dives, which was at 1.30pm. We'd arrived at Apo at 1030. After discussion with the instructors, they agreed to stay another hour, but they made sure it was painful for us.…
— good customer service and Wash room is really clean. They have good lighting too. Pad Thai and pizza are yummy 🥰 great ambiance facing apo island. Visited with two kids and four adults. Their food though good for one but can be share. Visited on weekday afternoon so there’s no other people there.
What can I say? Three girlfriends on a dive trip, and we had a huge, lovely room, enjoyed great service, and ate ourselves silly; the food is great. The diving was also wonderful, from drifts to night dive critters and turtles galore, and the dive crew competent; they were very helpful, as I was nursing an injury and needed assistance climbing back up on the big boat. Nothing beats a beautiful day diving, then coming home to a wonderful place to hang out. Owners Alex and Elena were super accommodating. No question, this place is a must-visit in Dumaguete.
Place was new , clean and private. We chose to stay here because of good reviews and it did not disappoint. Clean cozy modern rooms.. rooms further on the side can't get any beach view though .. food was good, downside was resto closes really early, maybe because of the covid situation and staff was few .. Would go back for sure for another weekender.
My wife and I spent 3 days/2 nights at Mahi Mahi for my wife's birthday. The resort is small but very well maintained. It is right on the beach and also has a beautiful pool. The grounds are well maintained with plenty of beautiful flowers and plants. Our superior room was spacious and provided us all the amenities we expected. A balcony overlooked the pool and grounds. We really enjoyed the food and did not find anything we did not like. Portions were ample if not too much! Most everything we wanted to order was available even with a very limited number of guests at the resort due to Covid 19. The staff and owners went out of their way to make sure all my requests were granted for my wife's birthday complete with the flowers I ordered and a birthday cake! They even treated us to some delicious black tea complimentary! Thank you Mahi Mahi for a great stay!…
We were looking for a relaxing lunch by the shore and happened to see Mahi Mahi. I fell in love with the view of Apo Island from their place and the overall ambiance with pretty neat architecture of the rooms facing the pool and beach. Food was good especially their halo-halo which was perfect for summer. I would definitely come back soon maybe to stay overnight this time around.
We came here spontaneously, as boats couldn't go to Apo Island (were we intended to stay) due to typhoon warning. Once I arrived I read some of the mixed reviews (english and german) and was curious at how it would be. Let me tell you, all the negative points that were mentioned seem to be fixed. We had a great time and I'm going to go into the different points, which in hindsight seem laughable and way off: - the staff was very friendly - there were no rules/fines for not bringing drinks or food from outside. Also, they provide you with free water, so you can fill up your bottles. - the owner was very nice. Greeted us everytime, updated us about the typhoon status and asked about our plans to make sure if there's something he could do for us. Hence, he organized that we could join other guests, that were going to Apo on a daytrip, to make the one-way trip there more convenient and affordable for us. - also said owner did not eat dinner at the same time as the guests. So there's no truth (anymore?) to the story that you're not able to sit at 'his table'. - a german review mentioned that there are only 4 sun loungers to lay on. Now there are 8. - same german review mentioned that you're getting massaged on those sun loungers. We didn't have a massage, but other guests did. Don't know where, but definitely not on the sun loungers. - another german review mentioned that it's getting hot in the rooms... There's a fan on the ceiling (if you don't want to use the aircon). The resort is as well equiped to ensure a comfortable night, as no other we've stayed at (in 2 months in the Philippines). - Someone complained about the "slums" next door. First off all, I despise such a dismissive term. It's a normal fisher settling and there's no need to be afraid. If you're afraid of such 'slums', don't come to the Philippines. If you're still concerned, don't be. Now there's a security guard with a shotgun patroling in the evening and at night. - also, the karaoke, roosters and dogs are something you'll encounter pretty much anywhere. We didn't notice it nearly as much here, as we did on other places. Again, if you can't handle it, don't come to the Philippines.…
