We stayed the other night. My family with lots of kids. The cottage was beautiful, open, and airy. Enough space for 3 adults and 4 kids. The beach is beautiful and secluded so it's nice and private. The food in the restaurant is really good. Everything was fresh. They took our food order and while cooking it we went and hung out on the beach. They would let us know just as everything was being plated. Would definitely recommend and we will go back the next time we have a break.
Didn't know about Kookoo's Nest until a friend from Moalboal recommended it and what a great surprise!! The place is beautifully built, greatly serviced by attentive and happy staff. Delicious food. Best sunsets. Nature all around. A true gem!
This place is all you can hope for is you Google Search includes word like "paradise, piecefull, perfect atmosphere, romantic, quiet, amazing" The hospitality is very Phillipines like, meaning it's so nice and friendly or makes you wanna stay for ever. If you stay here they have a trust based system, where you takes your cold drinks is a freezerbox and put a mark on a chalkboard for your tap in the bar. The food is ready good, and all is home made, which means it takes time to prepare, so be patient. I have nothing bad to say about this place, we stayed here for a week
When you'd like to get away from the street noise, hear nothing else but the sound of the waves, water splashing on the rocky shore, no need for apps to hear the sound of nature, Kookoo's nest would be the place to go. Here, you can find serenity at it's best.
Beautiful and relaxing private beach, with lovely bamboo cottages. Excellent restaurant on site and welcoming hosts. Can’t recommend enough. Only 108 steps to get to resort. Very good value and a high standard. Able to arrange trips from resort to other parts of island.
Rooms are very basic cottages. It's open air so expect all the bugs buzzing your ears while you sleep and wake up to insect bites in the morning. Mosquito net provided is dirty. The staff and non-Filipino owners are discriminating towards the local guests. Rude and not hospitable. They're extra friendly if you're a foreigner. The beach front is a few meters stretch only. Lots of sea urchins around and many guests were injured from it every single day. They don't post any warning along the shore. They don't even provide for any first aid. Their filthy dogs would lounge around the restaurant while you eat. Very undesirable smell of the dogs will hover around while you eat their ordinary meals. They have kayak for rent but they don't provide life vests instead they will just let…
This place is cute and scores high on the value for money ratio. The bungalows are basic but clean and super cute. The biggest asset is for sure the balcony of the bungalow with its hammock. It's so relaxing at night to just sit there and listen to the sound of the waves while you see the little lights of the fishermen's boats in.a distance. Their best attribute is the restaurant where they serve nothing but absolute yumminess for breakfast (absolute sublime with home baked bread and jam!!!!) lunch and dinner and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Don't expect real luxury, it's very basic and the beach is indeed private but its a thin ribbon which is rocky. To get to the resort and away you need to come down and go up a steep long stairway to cover the +\- 50m difference…
Its hard to find .. don't miss the small signs . The disappointment is the paradise pictures compared to the " brutal" reality . How they manage to make the beach look wide and spacious .. I dont know . anyway ; the beach is a 35/40 meters wide and the cabins rather close to eachother so not that much privacy . I know very well that i am not at a fast food resto but almost wait 1 hour for a simple meal? I have never eaten something anyway near a real pizza at Negros :)) and this one was no exception. Anyone who can tell a cook that a pizza is more then a circle of bread with some topping of tomato paste and some ( philip.) cheese can become rich :)) To end positive : A compliment for the fried fish : really good .
Our family had our weekend vacay at kookoo's nest because my daughter spent her vacation there last holy week season. But we didn't enjoy our stay because of very poor accomodation &services.the restaurant opens very late in the morning & we have to wait to get our hot water.and the food...can't understand how it is cooked. Bad experience.
This was our 3rd visit to Kookoosnest and every time it has got better! If you are looking for air conditioned sterility you had better stop reading now. If, however you are looking for rustic charm in an incredible setting with superb food, great service and lovely hosts then keep reading because this place is for you! The wooden huts are spacious, clean and incredibly good value with good bathroom facilities. The restaurant is first class with a range of food to suit all tastes made by staff who have been there since we first visited 12 years ago (a very good sign). They have a buffet feast each night for the residents which is unparalleled in terms of quality and value. The diving from here is spectacular with the reef no further than 10 metres off the beach with a…
