Sion Hill Plantation is the best place to stay in our opinion!! In all of Barbados!! It is the most tranquil, peaceful, scenic, comfortable and very clean!! What more can I say other than it's like you are home. You will always feel most welcome by Ruth and Jen! The pool is gorgeous, and the view of the ocean is spectacular! We can't wait to stay here every year when we come to Barbados for our annual vacation! We will certainly pass on the work to family and friends and co-workers. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!!!

We stay here regularly. All the apartments are first class and so is the welcome you get from the lovely owners in residence, nothing is too much trouble. A perfect location, peaceful but accessible, stunning views over the ocean and over the countryside.

We visited Sion Hill as a family and rented the 3 Orchard Apartments for our two week stay. This was a home away from home. The facility was beautiful, exceeding all my expectations. Beautiful, large bedrooms all with their own bath and shower which worked well for our adult kids. The kitchen was large and well equipped with anything you would need, truly felt like home. The grounds all beautifully maintained with orange and lime trees. Jenn and Ruth Ward are lovely, friendly people, felt very comfortable and safe staying at the Plantation. It is about a 10 minute drive to Holetown with great restaurants and fine dining. We loved the serenity of the Plantation at night after a busy day of visiting beaches and exploring Barbados. You owe it to yourself to stay here. 5 star all the way.

I booked a room here for a week on the Sion Plantation webpage. When I completed the details, the page said "Once your reservation is confirmed, you will get an email", and a couple of seconds after I clicked on the link to make the booking, it said that "You room is booked... all your booking information is below. Your reservation number is 140133. A confirmation email is on its way. Check-in time 3 PM..." A minute or so later, the confirmation email arrived.

Having received a written booking confirmation on the webpage and via email, we promptly booked our flights and then telephoned to pay in full (since we were flying out five days later) and spoke to a Jennifer Ward.

She blithely announced that the booking confirmations were of no consequence and were not confirmations: despite there being nothing on the website nor in the email to suggest this - indeed, quite the opposite. The property was fully booked.

The most depressing aspect of this is that Jennifer Ward could not even bring herself to offer an apology. This would have cost her nothing. She did not seem even to be embarrassed that this had happened. I had to suggest to her that she could perhaps at least help me find an alternative. Her response was to send an email about 15 minutes later with hyperlinks to three dreadful places on AirBnb.

If you think you have made a booking here, I suggest you take great care before you act in reliance on it.

Sion Hill is a beautiful place to visit and relax. We loved exploring Barbados from here. Scott, Jenn and Ruth shared their local knowledge to make it a holiday like no other. Into diving or fishing? See Scott. Into golf? 5 minutes away. A morning swim? 2 pools or down the hill to a nice little beach. Local knowledge of what is on, where and when took us to some great places across the island and made the logistics easy.

Great place to stay, own bedroom and bathroom is great, shared living facilities means you can meet and socialise with other guests. 2 pools on site are both great. Amazing views from upstairs properties. Close to Holetown and easy to get to on the highway.

Thank you Ruth, Jenn, Scott & the friendly staff at Sion Hill for a wonderful holiday, as well as good advice on the local attractions. My girlfriend and I stayed for two weeks at the the beautiful Sion Hill Plantation. Everything was perfect for our stay, spacious living areas, all the staff were super friendly and helped by suggesting places to see. Not one complaint from our stay and we came home engaged!

My wife and I just finished our 4 week stay in the Orchard Apartment at Sion Hill Plantation. My business partner stayed at Sion Hill three times previously. The complex is on top of the ridge and enjoys wonderful breezes. Quiet, clear sky. Above the heat and noise of Holetown.

Horse farms nearby offer wonderful walking. Very friendly neighborhood.

Two pools.

The rooms are large. Kitchen has everything, except garbage disposal.

Maid service included.

Laundry room handy, off kitchen.

We lived on the covered portico that includes the dining room table.

Powerful WIFI.

Ruth Ward, President of Sion Hill Plantation, is adorable. She lives on the property.

My one complaint: Master bed is 2 singles pushed together and mattresses are well beyond expiration dates.

Sion Hill is a great oasis just far enough from the beach crowd to have peace but close enough if you want some action. The apartments are very, very spaciously sized. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The pools are clean and warm and the breeze makes is nice spot to relax. Will need to rent a car if staying here !

Hi Judy, Sounds like a great trip! The quote is in American Dollars. Hiring a car is definitely recommended, while public transit is available from the bottom of the hill we are situated on (8 min walk), this is not always the easiest venture, taxis can be arranged with reliable drivers if you wish not to rent a car. Sorry for the misunderstanding, we do not provide breakfast at our accommodation. During your proposed dates we have a promo for a free room upgrade however which will give you access to a kitchen at all times. We have limited rooms remaining however so please click though to our website and send me an email through our "contact us" page as we currently don't accept bookings direct through Tripadvisor. Cheers - Sion Hill Managment
