Las Ventanas Al Paraiso A Rosewood Resort enchants guests with its artistic ambiance and culturally rich decor, complemented by lively music, yet some have noted noise disturbances. While the resort's exceptional amenities and meticulous cleanliness receive high marks, the value proposition is debated due to its premium pricing and additional unexpected charges. The spacious, aesthetically pleasing rooms offer comfort, although the tranquility is occasionally marred by nearby noise. The service, often described as attentive and personalized, has had a few reported inconsistencies.

We absolutely loved Rosewood Las Ventanas. This was our first time staying at this property. We have been fortunate to stay in beautiful properties and luxury brands across the globe, and this property certainly stands out as one of the best. The hotel and design is gorgeous, the food is great, the pools and beach were amazing. We were between this and One&Only and we’re so glad we chose this property. We ate at all of the restaurants on property, and we particularly enjoyed Arbol (ate there 3 times it was great!). While everything here exceeded our expectations, the staff is what stands out and separates this property from its competitors.

We would like to give special recognition to Waldo Hernandez who was so kind and gracious, my wife and I loved him. He has such a friendly demeanor and it is easy to tell that a positive guest experience is very important to him. Fernando who mans the door at La Botica is also fantastic - super friendly and ensured everyone at La Botica had a great time. We had great servers Angel and Crisanto at Arbol. And last but certainly not least, our butler staff was fantastic — Samuel, Arturo and especially Luis. Luis deftly maneuvered changes in reservations and specific requests. The Rosewood team here provided anticipatory service and we loved it.

It is easy to tell why this place is called Windows to Paradise. You have gained Rosewood loyalists for life. We can’t wait to come back soon!

I think it’s always important to set perspective in a review – we are luxury travelers who usually stay at Four Seasons, Rosewood, St Regis types of properties. That is the lens for which this review is written.

What sets this property apart is the service. The drivers, housekeepers and the wait staff around the pools and restaurants were nothing short of sensational. Around the pools, servers were plentiful and always provided prompt service. Our housekeeper always left nice touches around the room and the did a wonderful job providing little extra to celebrate our anniversary. We had a massage in the spa and it was one of the best ever.

The restaurants are all amazing, but I would recommend eating as many meals as you can at Arbol. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the food was incredible.

The hotel is capped at 50% occupancy due to COVID. They are taking it very seriously and the staff always wore masks and were constantly sanitizing everything. However, the guests were not. I rarely saw a guest wearing a mask around the property. If this bothers you, you should be aware.

The property is vast. This did not bother us but if you are bringing someone who will have a hard time with a lot of walking you should be aware.

I was a little shocked at the price of things. Again, we are luxury travelers so I’m usually not one to be shocked by this. One night, we had 4 martinis – after the taxes, surcharges and everything the total for the 4 martinis was $175.

Traveler tips-

- Book through American Express fine hotels and resorts and you will get many perks. You will receive a complimentary room upgrade when available, free breakfast each day, early check in / late checkout and a $100 credit each day.
- During COVID, if you want to use the gym – make sure and book an appointment.

Management advice –

Keep up the excellent service – you clearly have great people. With AMEX Fine hotels and resorts, we were to receive a room upgrade when available. Despite the hotel only being at 50% occupancy, we did not receive an upgrade. This would have been a great opportunity to really surprise and delight your customers to generate loyalty.

Second time staying at Las Ventanas and I had forgotten how relaxing & romantic the atmosphere is. They added a fire pit bar in the sand, which is lit up all around at night & inviting. They have 3 main restaurants. One up top near the entrance and 1 near the main pool and another below the pool overlooking the sand and sea. Our favorite to eat at is the restaurant on the sand. In the evening they have the beach lit up and it is so romantic. It is rare to find this illuminated surrounding on the sand anywhere.
What I love about this hotel is there doesn’t appear to be public beach access, so the beach is almost entirely yours. (Note there are other 5 star hotels that have public beach access next to them, so their beach is very busy). There are a few walkers & horseback riders during the day, but they walk on the lower level of the sand. The beach chairs are the most comfortable & umbrellas are available as well as immediate service for drinks & food & my favorite Evian water mist.
The hotel is in a great location allowing you to go into town in about 15 minutes.
Our room overlooked the main pool & sea. We were on the 1st floor which had a larger patio than the rooms on the 2nd floor with a balcony & spa. The attention to detail is beyond 5 stars. I remembered the first time we stayed there they left a sewing kit with a note that they had picked thread that matched my clothing I may need to tend to while there. This is a lovely touch.
I was disappointed with the espresso in the room. Our attendant suggested I have an espresso delivered on our patio very early in the morning, so as not to disturb us. Fantastic idea and again great feature for being on the first level. If you are wondering I was up early & they heated the milk on my patio when I appeared in the morning. So it was hot & fresh.
We played tennis every morning. There are 2 courts in excellent condition. We brought our own racquets & balls, however they had racquets & new & used balls there. Along with a kit on the court with cold towels, water & more Evian water mist.
We will definitely go back!

I believe one must review the property for what it sell itself as.

The hotel has its core audience flying from the US West Coast to spend some sunny days in Mexico. And it does show. Everything is very Americanized and one does not even feel you are in Mexico. Even the Mexican vibe and style the hotel tries to portrait at times is what Americans perceive Mexico to be, and not necessarily something authentic and fresh.

The rooms and amenities do live up to the expectations the resort sets for itself, with everything working in the rooms and efficient housekeeping and turn down service. Sheets, mattresses, pillows are all top notch quality.

The food in the hotel can best be described as efficient and correct, but far from being exquisite, innovative or even authentic. I had been warned by mates that the hotel had fallen short of expectation in previous stays, and sure enough it was not to the standards you would expect from an ultra luxurious property. Nothing was downright nasty or bad, yet nothing really stood out. The hotel commands a premium in the beverage and food departments compared to other Resorts in the area, though I feel the quality is at best the same offered elsewhere in the region.

For a Hotel widely known and celebrated for outstanding service, I can only feel this property does a disservice to the Rosewood brand. Service was chaotic, lazy and careless for the most part and there was not a day in the five days I was there in which some major issue did not present itself. I could list all of the flaws here, but I would prefer to just warn travelers that the service levels offered by the hotel are no better than your average American resort elsewhere in the vicinity.

The hotel is stunning and it does attract some big names. Probably a fair choice if you are looking for exclusivity and privacy, and can splash out the few extra thousands for a vacation here. It does not offer good service, quaint local charm and culture. I will most certainly not return or recommend it to my close friends.

Dear JeanFelipeL1 , We appreciate your feedback and regret that your stay failed to meet expectations. In regards to the comments about Las Ventanas being an Americanized resort, yes we do cater to Americans, however we strive to welcome every guest regardless of nationality and provide them with our core value of a “Sense of Place”. We apologize that this atmosphere did not convey during your visit. The entire team at Las Ventanas thrives in making memorable experiences for all of our guests. We encourage our team members to be authentic and to provide intuitive service wherever possible. We apologize that we were not able to meet your needs. In terms of food quality, we use locally sourced ingredients and the best purveyors in the industry. Even in the height of this pandemic, we are able to uphold our food standards while providing the same consistent quality that our guests continue to love. Hopefully you will give us another opportunity, we very much look forward to exceeding your expectations next time. All my best, Frederic Vidal Managing Director

I had an excellent but not perfect stay at the hotel over Christmas. The service from airport pickup to check-in was excellent. COVID protocols were excellent. Staff was required and did wear masks everywhere. Guests were not required to wear masks (though we and most did) on the property, but that was OK as most of the activities were outdoors (and distanced). The room included an amenity kit that included daily refreshing of hand sanitizer.

I was booked in a large ocean view room that had a small kitchen and third floor terrace overlooking the ocean. Every morning we were able to order breakfast to the room and eat it on the terrace. The beach and pools that were open were in great shape. The room was not perfect. The bedroom was a little dark and one of the drawer pulls broke off during our stay indicating room fatigue. The fake candles also had broken bottoms. A bit odd the hotel dropped off a large glass box one day but never filled it. I learned from friends their glass box was being filled with cakes daily. Not an important item to hit on, but definitely felt like we didn’t get the same experience.

We ate at all of the restaurants at the hotel. Arbor & the Ceviche Bar were the food highlights by far. The La Botica cocktail bar is fantastic and very well done. We also booked a movie night on the beach and the experience was one I hope to repeat one day.

The scenery is much better than at the Rosewood in Mayakoba but that hotel has better amenities and rooms if you are comparing.

Las Ventanas is a resort that makes the extra effort in every detail imagined.
We enjoyed this Year the New Year Celebration a celebration of Cuba.
The employees of Las Ventanas spent
8 months designing the virtual city of Havana. No expenses were spared. It was
Amazing Beautiful. The evening was planned starting with gifts to the rooms,
Omg the food was outstanding at the event
Including stations for appetizers, 2 entres delivered by a superbly trained staff, champagne, grapes, entertainers, singers, dancers, fireworks, framed pictures. We were amazed. The resort even provides an after hours speak easy cleverly designed for the late nighters to continue the fun.
It’s starts with top management and flows through all the exceptional service folks.
Las Ventanas is all wonderful in everything they do. A celebration well worth enjoying any time of the year especially their Artistically inspired New Years Celebration.

This place is just magical. When our family of 6 arrived at this resort, we were greeted with smiles and music and literally a view of paradise. Our butler, Enrique, was the perfect combination of going above and beyond in the biggest and smallest of details, yet never hovered or just stood around. We were celebrating my 21 year old and my 19 year old’s birthdays while there, and he took every opportunity to make them feel special from chocolate left in the room to some tequila. Alejandro greeted us with smiles every morning for the delicious breakfast. Everything from homemade tortillas to any salsa to suit you to a fresh daily jam and pastries.

The pool and beach service is simply over the top here because the workers are so diligent and committed to serving you and giving you the best experience. I wish I had written every name down so that I could list them here. Friendly and so kind, I can’t say enough about their genuine desire to help you whether it was needing food, drinks, sunscreen, etc. They offered buttons to call for service, but it really wasn’t necessary.

We enjoyed a couple of special experiences. Dinner in the wine cellar “la Cava” was a truly unique and special experience for us. Alejandro and the sommelier made sure the evening was unforgettable. Also, Enrique, arranged an evening under the stars for us. A private dinner on the beach that was unlike any other.

Our suite was fantastic. The accommodations are traditional Mexican with plush amenities like Bulgari bath products, robes, gifts on your pillow, etc. All the doors opened to the most amazing view and a gorgeous deck with plunge pool/ hot tub. It was cleaned perfectly and always done while we were away thanks to Enrique‘a handling.

I cannot wait to return to this beautiful paradise! Of course, the property is a stunning example of Rosewood’s finest, however, it is the staff that really adds the special warmth that is hard to find.

We just returned from a 5 night stay and it was wonderful. Las Ventanas has been on our radar for about 10 years. We have had dinner there many times but last week was our first stay after trying One and Only and The Pedrigal.

Las Ventanas definitely stood out as our most relaxing and 5 star service stay. It started with being picked up at the airport and being whisked away in a private car with treats and drinks.

Once we arrived we had a warm welcome (I don't think we had the music) and were introduced to our butler. I had written earlier that my partner does not drink alcohol and they had a wonderful drink for him along with my margarita. We were shown our room 404 which was large, had a great view of the ocean and easy access to the pools. It was comfortable and spacious.

As everyone has noted the service is amazing. What I appreciated the most was that we knew how to partner with our Butlers. At the One and Only, we never saw our Butler after our first day. At LVP our Butlers were proactive with everything from morning coffee on our lanai to making reservations. They also came to get us to walk us to our cabana we rented for half a day.

The restaurants were great, we loved the Ceviche and Sushi bar with all the tequila tastings. Breakfast was amazing as Arbol and poolside service.

Another thing I appreciated was that we are charged a daily service charge that goes to the employees of the resort. I like this approach as tipping daily can be stressful and we end up missing someone who deserves a gratuity. This way, we know the gratuity is spread out across the staff and we know we can add more for exceptional service. This was someone we learned at One and Only after we checked out and reviewed our bill.

The one thing I wouldn't do again was the cabana, it was a good value but tucked away and for 2 it got very quiet. I think with a few friends it could be fun. We also had the smallest one out of the 3.

I look forward to returning back.

We've visited LVAP for the last 10 years and they're doing a lot of things "right" as the environment becomes more competitive. We've always stayed in an ocean view junior suite (we like building 500, but 400 thru 700 are equally nice) with a plunge pool and a rooftop terrace. The views are incredible, as is the privacy. LVAP has opened a "speak-easy" bar, La Botica with live entertainment and exceptional craft drinks. It's a nice touch and complementary to the overall experience. The singer is good and we enjoyed a few drinks there. We dined at El Restaurante one evening. The tableside preparation and freshness of guacamole and salsa are what you'd expect from a restaruant of this caliber. The wines are expensive, but many Mexican restaurants we find good wines have high prices. This drove us to order a Mexican wine, which was quite good, and the somm was quite helpful. My wife attends the daily yoga class and says it's good, she also says it could be improved by offering it on the beach.
The service and facilities at LVAP are exceptional: from our margaritas at the Tequila Bar, to dining, to breakfast, we believe they've "upped" their game and we appreciate it. We will return again and again!

We chose Las Ventanas for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! We had a room that overlooked the ocean, had a hot tub, and a rooftop terrace. It did not disappoint! They will also plan a private rooftop terrace dinner for you if you ask. They set it up beautifully.

The service was incredible! You have a personal butler for your stay. Ours helped us plan an ATV tour and golfing as well as booked all of our dinner reservations. He also arranged taxis for us to go explore other areas in Cabo. He was great!

The food at the resort is incredible and they accommodate any food restrictions/allergies. Anytime we had food delivered or ate at the restaurant, they automatically brought me gluten-free/dairy-free apps and could make any item on the menu GF/DF. We barely left the resort because the food was just that good. They even had fireworks a couple of nights while we were at dinner.

The service at the pool was wonderful as well. They have towels laid out for you, make sure the umbrella is shading you if you want, bring you a bucket of water bottles and evian face spray, and check in on you constantly. The staff does everything to make sure you have a wonderful experience.

From the moment we arrived to the day we left, they made our experience unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

We were just there in December and were able to make reservations when we were on property without any problem. Our butler team stayed on top of this to make sure we were taken care of.

Hello, The residences are insane. They have kitchens and have larger floor plans. Would be my choice... They do sit farther back, closer to the road than the resort rooms though. Service isn't as good. More of a walk to the beach.

We were there as a couple late Jan 2021, LOVED every minute there! Lots of couples, didn’t see many kids there then.

"Jr Suites on upper floors offer better views. Residence rooms are further to the back. Villas on Ocean front look like nice $$$$ options."
