A WARNING FOR TRAVELLERS. Last week I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights directly with La Mansion Del Bosque hotel in San Miguel, Mexico. Subsequent to the reservation I unfortunately contracted COVID thus am unable to make the trip to San Miguel. Upon contacting the hotel they told me their policy provides for cancellation 15 days prior to the reservation and I was within those 15 days. Nowhere on the hotel's literature or website is this 15 day cancellation policy written. As I had to provide my credit card to hold the reservation the hotel charged me the full amount of the stay, without my permission, for an amount which exceeded $10,000 pesos. IT IS A SCAM.

Friendly staff and charming ambience, even sitting in the patio feels relaxing. Some wooden furniture like the cabinets in the room looks old but it adds to the charm haha. Very near the central SMDA is small anyway, but away from the noise and crowd. Single room available. There's a convenience supermarket opposite Hecho restaurant nearby.

This was a lovely place to stay for my few days in San Miguel. The location is close to everything. It is a charming space. I arrived late at night and there was a bit of confusion about my room but in the morning they moved me to the one that I had reserved and all was good. I had a room in the back which I would suggest asking for. It was quiet. Clean, comfortable, firm beds and plenty of hot water. The staff were very friendly. Wifi was not great. There is a separate wifi in the back with a different modem.

Great time with the family, nice and cozy hotel, we rented 8 rooms, every room is unique. the decoration with vintage items, fireplace, balcony. The garden outside is impressive, looks like some plants are 30 years old. Decoration of the hallways fits to the hotel as small hacienda. The door in the entrance not impressive until you are inside the patio. It was great!!!

The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. Breakfast is no longer included with the room, nor the 7pm dinner listed in some rooms. But 130 pesos ($5.25 USD) for a fantastic breakfast, served by the friendliest waiter, is well worth it. Try the Mexican eggs, they are perfect with the beans. I'd visit them for a future stay.

My husband and I stayed for several days and it was an amazing, relaxing trip. The staff is amazing Omar, Gabrielle Hernando. Rooms are very basic but very comfortable and quiet. Restaurant with made to order breakfast was outstanding and the staff amazing. Location of hotel is only blocks from the central area. We will definitely visit again.

This hotel is beloved by a faithful clientele who return year after year to enjoy traditional Mexico at its best. A family run operation with an excellent kitchen and family style seating in the dining room, Ruth's place offers neighbors as well as guests a chance to share experiences as well as get to know the hidden sights of traditional San Miguel de Allende. Daughter Louisa offers day trips to her family Hacienda. Plan your day at breakfast. Walk everywhere from this perfect location: The Parque Juarez with its Pollinator (butterfly) Garden is across the street. The city center is an easy two blocks away and within a block are the finest modern luxury five star hotels: Rosewood and Matilda, if you want an upscale bar or alternative brunch, or a great massage. The Mansion del Bosque offers a lovely (and much less expensive) alternative to five star. I'd say the rooms are comfortable with heat and prívate baths, but not at all Mexican Modern. Yet the experience of staying here is more comfortable than a bed and breakfast and offers a unique social atmosphere not easy to find anymore. If you're traveling alone or as a family I can't think of a better place to be comfortable and at ease.…

Charming hostess always on premises and very helpful finding tours and shops. Close to downtown and easy walk to everywhere including local park restaurants and even the running of the bulls when I was there.

This was a wonderful small restaurant that was part of a bed and breakfast. It would have been great to stay in this hotel as well based on the appearance of the restaurant and the quality of the breakfast food. The food was delicious, hot and served promptly at a reasonable price.

We stayed at this charming, family-run hotel for ten days this past November. We traveled with friends who had stayed here before and they had spoken very highly of La Mansion Del Bosque. We had great expectations and were not disappointed with our experience. Staff was welcoming and friendly, our room was comfortable and had a unique charm. We had a king size bed which like sleeping on a cloud.
