My sister and I just got back from a trip to Tulum and we stayed at Be Tulum. What a magnificent hotel. From the moment we arrived our concierge Cesar Sando was so very welcoming. Throughout our stay, he catered to our every need and was always there at a moments notice. The hotel is breathtaking and the views are as well. If you are looking to stay at a hotel with amazing service, kind and friendly staff, delicious food and gorgeous beach, look no further than BeTulum. It is worth every penny we spent on this vacation. We can’t wait to go back. Ask for Cesar !!! He’s amazing .
I stumbled upon BeTulum over ten years ago for lunch and swore I would stay here one day. I’m a designer and the property and the rooms are so amazing. It is epic design in harmony with nature. It appears so effortless but I know all the effort it took. We had room 28, an Aire Master Suite. It is closest to the left common pool on the trail. It is a second floor living room, master bedroom and private terrace with a staircase to a private rooftop terrace with its own soaking pool, lounge and netted suspension hammock. We have a stone bathtub outside our shower nestled in the palms. Our room overlooks the pool, restaurant, beach and ocean. It’s just far enough away for quiet and privacy but close enough to get back and forth from the action. There is a coffee machine in the room, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, moisturizer, water, etc. There are plenty of outlets available and no converter is necessary for US electronics. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. House keeping has flowed in and out without any disruption. Entertainment wise they played all my favorite Brazilian tunes during the day and there was an epic flamenco troop that performed one night. The restaurant and beach servers are abundant and tend to your every need without being intrusive. Our favorite personnel was Jean Carlos, Rubin, Caarloss and Juan. I know I’m forgetting one name and I’m sorry for that. The food is incredible and I’m very picky. I have never had avocado toast that amazing. The shining star of the property is the concierge Samantha. She is grace, kindness and professionalism personified. If I was in hospitality, I would steal her away for sure. Tulum does have the algae issue this visit but BeTulum is the only hotel I saw cleaning the beach everyday, all day. We met many cool couples from all over and had a fabulous time. Covid test to return to the US is onsite and easy to perform in 10 minutes. Parking for our rental car was provided and free of charge. I will miss this place!…
This hotel is the best place to stay in Tulum. I stayed at another place for the same money, and the experience was much worse. The area of the hotel is some kind of magical place, you will just take a walk there non-stop. I like the beach club area and the restaurant zone, there are a lot of trees. The service is great, all the staff was kind. I liked the performances they had each day, and there were unique people invited, whether DJs, dancers, or musicians. The room was clean and spacious. I love that it was dark, and the jungle view is tremendous! FYI, the taxi knows the price of the stay and its better to catch taxi in a fex minutes walk from hotel so they don't give you unreasonable price for the ride. We took a ride from hotel like 5-7 minutes and were billed $40 for this. …
From the minute we arrived, we realized we chose a town and hotel that would meet our needs. We needed to recharge, relax, feel free, be pampered, eat delicious food, walk to restaurants and bars, feel like the day could take us anywhere. It met all those needs. The staff is attentive and friendly. The room was cleaned twice/day. The beech was cleaned daily unlike most other hotels. My wife and I walked long distances and commented on the positive difference between our place and the others. We stayed in Aire suite with a rooftop pool, nice for end of day dip. Spa was also terrific, we went 3 times. Definitely making this an annual get away.
I was referenced to Be by a dear friend who has been to Tulum numerous times; I didn’t have any specifics other than the name, website, and Trip Advisor going in, so (given my first visit to Tulum) I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was absolutely delighted. Worth noting however this isn’t a typical high-end resort experience, but rather a boutique, local, rustic feel. You’ll get the most out of your experience here being open and curious, and welcoming to the sense of community that organically forms as you attend different events. To be clear, Be (60 units?) and Nomade (100?) are adjoining sister properties. I believe guests of either can use facilities of both, which for me meant restaurants (four between the two facilities), and Nomade’s event schedule and facilities (there may be more than I encountered, but definitely don’t expect a big gym or wide-reaching wine and bourbon lists). Both are well south of ‘the strip’, so you feel pretty isolated and quiet (actually, they are ‘on the strip’, but it doesn’t get hopping until you walk north 15-20 minutes along the beach or road). What really set the experience apart, for me, was the schedule of activities: every day starts with yoga and breathwork sessions, and closes with a group speaker or other event in the evening. In-between expect 1-3 other activities that in some way press your limits. I’m assuming Mila was the events director during my visit; I thanked her in-person, but wanted to give her more-public praise as well. The resources were excellent. All offered private sessions should you choose to engage with them further. I found this offer understandable and inobtrusive, and I know a handful of folks who engaged them (and I tried, but could not make scheduling work). I found the activities spawned a sense of community. Because the guest population is small, you see many familiar faces across activities that – along with some vulnerable in-activity sharing – make it easy to strike up a conversation. Unlike prior resort experiences, I met a handful of people I will enjoy connecting with in Real Life. Service generally was excellent. The guys in the restaurants, bars, and beach (especially on the Be side) really hustled, and were a delight to talk with without being overbearing. A shout out to Adrian for knowing me, my drinks (even though I changed them most nights), and sharing a little about himself that made for a fun connection. At Be I was assigned a personal concierge, Cesar, who was always accessible via WhatsApp; he was humble and easily approachable, and really made my visit easy. I chose not to go further north for dinner, but Cesar had a number of options and was able to make reservations without issue (including cancelling them as I was exhausted by the end of most days). He did schedule one off-premises activity (scuba) which was a great fit for what I was seeking. Pro tips: sign up for activities well in advance (demand varies significantly – 8a yoga is always full), and start times can be +/- 30 minutes different between the web scheduling app, printed / pdf schedule, and the chalkboards at Nomade (I think the latter likely the most accurate). Also, and this may be obvious to everyone but me: breakfast actually goes until 11:30a, so you can go to morning activities and then enjoy a low-stress breakfast overlooking the ocean. I’m sure there are as-good or better accommodations along ‘the strip’ in Tulum, but if you’re seeking this balance of wellness, mindfulness, and luxury, Be is an excellent option. I will be back. (NOTE: my 3/5 ‘value’ rating reflects what may have been crazy room rates during peak season – I didn’t factor that into my overall rating however, but it would have cost them a ‘green circle’ if what I paid was their everyday rate.) …
Christmas family holiday that was great. The hotel is beautiful, excellent staff, well maintained and clean. Very comfortable rooms and beach area, very good restaurants at both Nomade and BeTulum and excellent service. No seaweed at Christmas. It is a very peaceful hotel and not next to any noisy clubs or music. Highly recommend.
EVERYTHING from the room we stay in to the restaurants we eat at was perfect. The spa is a 10/10. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is so clean and beautiful. You don’t even have to leave the property they have everything you need. Both restaurants were delicious and had great serves. I will for sure be come back to stay here.
Amazing ocean real front Front…picture this, open your front door to your suit walk strait for 50 yards and you are in the ocean. What an amazing feeling place and the atmosphere Makes you not want to ever leave. Going back as soon as we can.WOW
Be Tulum has been such a great place to stay for our mini-honeymoon. The rooms, grounds and beach are incredible! The food and drinks are also amazing. Lastly, the service and concierge are wonderful, in particular July our concierge representative and Camillo one of our waiters. 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back soon!
The staff at Be Tulum were great and the rooms were huge and comfortable. It is a very long way down the hotel strip which makes it arduous to get to other locations for site seeing- about a half an hour to get to the main section of town and the main roads going north and south. The hotel itself is great but it is far out there.
