My wife and I recently returned from our sixth time at the Fairmont Mayakoba and it continues to amaze each and every time. They have added some nice pools at beach along with some restaurants and bars which add to the beach experience. The service by all the staff was amazing and very friendly. It doesn't really matter where on the property you stay, they have golf carts to drive you wherever you want to go and you can also take a car from the lobby to the other 3 hotels if you want to try their restaurants. We are able to put all of our dining at other properties on our Fairmont bill which is very convenient. Although we didn't play golf, the course if beautiful and hosts the only PGA event in Mexico. We book spa services every time we visit and the people there are top notch. I highly recommend booking a spa day and visit the pools on the upper deck while you are there. Unfortunately several of the usual restaurants were closed for remodeling however we have dined many times and have had great experiences in the restaurants. Make sure and book a boat tour through the mangroves, it will give you an entirely different perspective on the vastness and beauty of the property. We are very excited to see all the changes they make to their dining for when we visit next year and have high expectations for the food and service although I am confident they will meet them. A special thank you to David and the hotel manager for making our anniversary trip an 11 on a scale of 1-10. We cannot say enough about the hospitality and kindness we were shown during our visit.

My fiance and I have traveled the world including lots of resorts & homes throughout Mexico. We have been to the Riveria Maya many times previously; hence we decicded to take break for a few years from Playa de Carmen since it was just too busy. Recently we decided at the last minute to book into the Fairmont Mayakoba over the Christmas Holidays and much to our delight we were overwhelmed with such incredible gracious and generous hospitality. From the monent we arrived Eduardo, the front desk manager greeted us in perfect English and asked us how our travels were. He was kind and genuinely interested. Quickly he surmised that we had something more in mind than just a std room and went to bat for us in securing an upgrade. Needless to say that when we arrived at the Camaleom Suite (aka the Presidential Suite) which was beachfront with a beaurtful pool and luxurious accommodations, we were blown away ! To be honest we could not have been happier with the suite, that is UNTIL we met the most amazing and dedicated hospitality employee ever, who also happended to be our very own butler, Mr David Loranzo. His kindness and willness to "serve" never waivered and no request was too small (or silly..) From shopping for gifts to bringing fresh towels and ice, he set a very high bar for the rest of the staff. David was an intregal part of this vacation being so special. BUT...it didnt stop there. Daily we met Mar (she was part of the transport team) as well as Edgar who was a valet out front. They made it ther mission to ensure we made every reservation on time and there was nothing left to be asked for. Again two very valuable and decicated employees. This was a recurring theme and canidly 6 nights completed spoiled us for any future vacation. Mind you not all can afford or NEED the Camaleon Suite but I promise you we will not stay elsewhere on Quintana Roo. If your travels take you South of the Border, give the Fairmont a long hard look and dont be afraid to ask (and pay) for the upgrade. Well worth it. We will be back. Tripp & Kendra

We traveled to the Fairmont Mayakoba for the THIRD time in two years back in July 2021 (and previously we had a strict policy not to repeat vacation spots!). There are not enough words to say how incredible this resort is. From the room amenities, to the pools, and 5-star food and beverage at EVERY restaurant, Fairmont Mayakoba truly is a resort unicorn. So rarely do you find a place that is impeccably clean, gorgeous, and hospitable. What makes it truly one of our very favorite places to travel are the people. From Deneb, a true gem at the Concierge desk, to Alejandro, the BEST bartender and, now, truly someone we would call a friend - seriously, ask for him at the swim up bar and don't miss out on his specialty drinks. From the moment we arrived, Deneb ensured we had all of our restaurant reservations taken care of, sent my parents, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on this latest trip, the most beautiful arrangement of flowers and chocolates, and ensured my 4-year old, who was still a bit too young to participate in the kids' club activities, felt included by giving her an adorable set of plush monkies to take home. She still sleeps with them every night and talks about the magical time we spent in Mexico. If you're concerned about Covid-19 protocols, don't be. Not once did we feel unsafe during our time at Mayakoba, and we traveled twice during the pandemic. They do an amazing job balancing the safety of guests with comfort and ease as well. This property is going to be even more spectacular after the most recent set of renovations - we CANNOT wait to go back. Seriously, do not hesitate to book this amazing resort. You will have the time of your life.

Beautiful setting and great accommodations with friendly and attentive staff. Food is better than average, but not great. Most units are a very long way from the beach (probably 2 miles by shuttle). It would be nice if the cut a path through trees so people could walk to the beach. Our room was near a wedding and it was very loud late into the evening. This was unacceptable to us, since we couldn't sleep. In the future, the hotel should place people who aren't going to the wedding in rooms in a different part of the property and save the close rooms for wedding goers. The whole experience soured us on the property for the first day of our vacation.

We are a family of 4 with two kids 3/7. We have been to Mexico/Punta Cana many times and tried out many All Inclusives - we finally decided to try out the Fairmont. We stayed in a standard pool view room All Inclusive package and they offered us a upgrade to a canal view for $50 extra a night and a beach area suite for $300 a night. As we don't spend much time in the room we declined. The grounds were beautiful, the beach had zero seaweed and zero waves. There was hardly any snorkeling at the beach, but there were many neat shells one can collect just left of the seaweed barrier. We rented kayaks for free a few times with zero wait. We also enjoyed riding the provided bikes around the property. They have small bikes for kids and ones with training wheels. The cost to rent a jetski from the hotel is $125 a half hour. The front desk was clear on when one would occur extra charges that were not part of the All Inclusive package. They gave us a $20 credit at the candy shop Sweet Spot which we used and a $50 credit to the spa which we didn't use. Trattoria was 15 % surcharge, room service was $5 + 15% surcharge to use. All waiters would let you know if any alcohol or meal that was ordered was not part of the ai plan - but nothing we ordered was not part of the plan. At kids club only 3 hours (9am,11am,4pm) were included in the plan. Breakfast at La Laguna was good but I found the layout to be confusing and they wanted employees to do all the serving including almonds, spices, etc but majority of the time they were not around. Dinner at La Laguna and La Playita seemed to be just okay and very similar. Lunch at the beach and the pool were the best. We enjoyed the fish tacos and salads and peel and eat shrimp and nachos for lunch. The kids never went hungry and loved the Mac and cheese and deserts. We enjoyed the sushi and other meals at Hix. The new Hix restaurant just reopened and it was beautiful. The drinks at all locations were definitely watered down as we drank all day and hardly caught a buzz. They were very good though. If I was paying full price for them I would be disappointed. Average bill was around $80 for breakfast at La Laguna $300 for lunch and drinks at the beach/$200 for snacks and drinks at pool/ and $300 for dinner and drinks. Considering everything I left expecting more. The place is beautiful, the $25 a day per adult resort fee is excessive for what you get, they even charge you to use the gym, the drinks are watered down or fake, for this price I expected better tasting food especially at dinner. In my opinion the Hyatt Ziva and Grand FIesta Americana has better tasting food. One evening at the pool on a Monday we were one of two families at the pool, after not seeing the waiter for 30 minutes I walked over to the bar to find him sitting down laughing and talking with the bartender. I then had to ask the bartender for a drink and my ticket (bill) to sign. For this price I expect the service, all meals, and drinks to be top of the line even though how beautiful the property is,
