Hotel was lovely and staff super helpful and friendly. Not a high end hotel, no TV in room and shared microwave on deck. But that's not what we were there for. 4 blocks from beach and lots to see and do in the area!!!
Bad experience. Loud music from nearby open air nignt club till 3AM Room cleaning only every 2 days.(info on Holels.com and others says daily cleaning.) Si you have to do your bed and keep wet towels 100 Usd safe deposit and 600 Usd if you loose key (big key, not easy to take with you).. Electronic locks much better! Pictures on Booking.com and Hotels.com show breakfast buffet and nice tables. In fact, nothing at all available. Not even a morning coffee. No TV in rooms. On top, they charge you for storing you bags after check out, in case or late flight or so. Very downgraded place. Be warned.
We stayed here five nights and we had a great time. The design of this hotel is really nice and authentic mexican with a hammock in front of each room. A beautiful little garden and an area under a straw roof to sit. Lovely rooms, good size. Very friendly staff that gives good recommendations about where to eat or how to move around. Only two blocks from la quinta. Definitely not for light sleepers, as there is a disco (or something alike) on the corner that produces a lot of noise till around two am. But we slept very well despite the noise.
Worst Service in the whole 4 weeks in Mexico. No cleaning of the room and the service wasn't able to give us fresh towels in the evening after coming back from a tour. I saw towels in the office, but the service said he had to wait for a colleague in 2 hours. Ridiculous!
We had a fantastic stay. The room was nice and clean, and the cleaning lady came by every day and tighten the room. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect in the middle of down town. Would stay here again for sure
it is 4:30 in the morning and I haven't been able to sleep a wink because of how loud the karaoke bar is next door. It sounds like these terrible singers are literally IN my room. I can't even imagine having a child at this hotel. What an absolute nightmare of an experience trying to get ANY sleep. My room is really nice but I can not write enough how glad I am to have only have booked one night. This place is NOT for sleeping whatsoever. I feel bad that management receives bad reviews from a bar that is next door but this is BEYOND unacceptable.
Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Clean and big rooms, great location, a walking distance from the pier to cozumel, the main street of playa and even a Walmart. Alberto from the front desk was great to us! Gave us wonderful tips and was very kind.
This Adobe style hotel is great. Friendly staff, Antonio helped us with everything. The hotel is a hop and skip to 5th ave and the beach, but it is far enough away to avoid loud music from Playa del Carmen in the early morning hours when you're trying to sleep.
I recently stayed a couple of nights in PDC in Barrio Latino Hotel with my cousin. I would recommend it to anyone trying to escape the resort-like hotels in the area and party-oriented hostels. You will still be near all the parties and the beach - for better and worse - so for those who can’t sleep in noisy areas, beware. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful, we really felt very welcome and supported. Our only pet-peeve was the breakfast which offered limited options and most of it was gone by 9 (even though breakfast runs until 10ish).
I spent one week at Barrio Latino Hotel last May, 19 . As a solo traveler, I really liked the door locked and the 24/7 desk service, where local recepcionists had a lot of ideas to enjoy my stay all around, The Hotel Barrio Latino is in the best area of Playa del Carmen, surrounded by a large number of great eateries, coffees, and even small Mayan ruins! Transportation is easy and unexpensive all around. Noise was not an issue to me, I am not a light sleeper but I was a little bit worried because of few other reviews. There are two restaurants and a spot with small bars at the corner, but recorded music ended early at night and wasn' t loud at all ; I spent several hours walking in the tropical garden or surfing the web ( great wifi by the way) , and meeting beautifull young europeans and clients from all over the world . Next time I will visit Mexico I will stay again at the Barrio Latino Hotel!…
