I visited Meliá Cozumel earlier this month for my birthday with a friend, and we both had an AMAZING time! Carlos at the front desk made the experience so much better when he looked at my passport and realized it was my birthday. We upgraded our room and were surprised to see a happy birthday banner on the door and balloons on the bed. He also sent up some cake later, which I thought was so sweet! Tony was amazing in showing us all of the features of the room as well! All the staff members here are so nice, and because it’s a smaller resort, they make your experience more personable and make the effort in getting to know who you are and where you’re from. It was such a pleasure meeting Jesus, Moises, Manuel, Resbel, Mr.Gonzalez, and everyone else who was around to make the experience so much more enjoyable! I’d recommend this resort for anyone looking to relax with good views and decent food. We had such an amazing time!

We just stayed at the Melia for a week. The beach was beautiful (but no waves). The people working there were pretty wonderful; we felt safe and comfortable every moment. The head chef, Francisco, was VERY helpful with our dietary needs (celiac...it turns out that they don't use wheat very often in Mexican cuisine); he even made us a special gluten-free cake. The meals were pretty good (or great). There was always a grill and there was always a ceviche for lunch. Always very nice fruits. There were terrific Mexican dishes. A tiny glitch was the reliance on apps for getting around...we wanted to know the layout of the resort and the schedules of the restaurants. We were referred to an app (they seemed to take great pride in no paper/no waste). We downloaded the app, found it was not functioning, and pointed this out to the front desk. The front desk told us that they were aware that the app did not work (Q: Then why direct us to the app in the first place?). We had a wonderful stay and were happy with the trip. It was our first visit to Cozumel and we were VERY happy with the airport and transportation (relative to Cancun). We highly rec this very nice resort and we will be back!

Service was great and drinks were cold. The food at the buffet was okay; I always found something to eat. However, if you reserved a spot at the ala carte restaurants, the food was very good. We booked the Romantic Dinner on the Beach and the food was delicious! Well worth the extra $ and our server, Jesus, was great. Our vacations are not “made” by the room so much as the people. I want to give a thumbs up to Antonio and Jesus, at the buffet, and Gerardo and Cesar, at the beach / pool, for great service. Our check in was smooth as our room was in the Level. The room was near the top of the building, providing a great view of the beach and pool. Checkout was a bit confusing and fortunately Brenda listened when I told her the numbers were wrong and we should owe more. We enjoyed two couples’ massages at the YHI spa. Those were wonderful! The spa is a smaller scale than other larger Melia brand hotels / resorts. But the price of the service more than made up for it! Only a couple of issues to mention: Bluetooth speakers should not be blasted at the pool. The Travel Agents were given top priority over the paying guests. The shower in our room was not watertight; water trickled out the bathroom door. Yes, there was seaweed. While efforts were being made to clean the beach, it was near futile. THEN, the seaweed stopped, the beach was quickly cleaned and life was good. We typically vacation at Melia brand resorts as we feel there is a level of service and quality that is maintained. While this hotel is a bit dated, it is a great place to get away from it all and relax.

Meliá Cozumel resort was amazing! From the moment we stepped foot on the resort, the staff’s customer service was A1! They even upgraded us to the highest floor (at a small fee), with the best ocean-view & also overlooking the resort. They made sure to decorate our room and provide cake to my friend who was celebrating a birthday! I highly recommend this resort if you want a smaller, family-friendly feel! I want to give a personal, special shout-out to the following staff members (in no particular order): Tony Carlos Roberto Moises Jesus Rene Edwin Manuel Javier Patricia

Would not recommend this hotel ! The workers are amazing and that’s about the only positive I have . The send you a questionnaire to fill out before you go to ask if you will be celebrating anything and I put yes and say anniversary, well that didn’t really matter bc they had no recollection of it and then when we mentioned it they sent us a happy birthday card to the room with balloons . The rooms are so hot and sticky the beds feel like they are wet when you’re trying to sleep . They only have AC in the Buffett restaurant any place else in the resort there is no AC . The bars at the resort do not open til 11am and then the pool bar closes at 6pm . There is also no night life what so ever here . The floors are very slippery around the pool area so you have to be very careful. The food is ok , kinda the same stuff everyday just cooked a little different . Would not go back .

Our family of four (kids ages 9 and 6) spent four nights at Melia in May 2022. Even though we had less than ideal weather, our kids haven't stopped talking about the place since we returned home. Everything from our room (Level family suite) to the pool to the restaurants was top notch. Our kids loved playing mini golf , and the amount of kids activities with staff was a highlight. Mary, in particular, was great at keeping them engaged and active. We never had any issue finding a good place to sit around the pool or on the beach...there is plenty of real estate. We had Level privileges for the private beach, but we didn't really use it much as the private beach was on the other side of the resort from the family pool which was where we spent most of our time. The special Level breakfast restaurant was fantastic, though, and we started our day there every morning. Lunch, snack and dinner offerings were also great. Our kids are rather picky eaters and they left every meal with full stomachs. We typically vacation over near Cancun/Playa del Carmen at resorts known for exceptional food, but my wife and I found each meal to be plenty good. As others have noted, the staff at Melia is top notch and we didn't have a single poor encounter. Bottom line for us: this was a wonderful hotel for our family vacation. Dollar for dollar it was an exceptional value and we would gladly come back. Don't pay attention to the 1-star reviews...Melia is a wonderful place to visit. Go and have fun!

My wife and I had a very good time at Melia Cozumel. The room and facilities were very top notch for the price point we paid. The staff works very hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food was good and again met the price point we paid. This was our second time staying at the resort and we will definitely return a third.

I was in this hotel may 10-17, my husband upgrades to a suite last floor facing the ocean i think 1415, the view was breath taking the room was spacious. For the extra we paid i expected a litte more, example only mirror above the sink, a woman needs a full mirror. A little rust around the sink faucet. Its details, but for the extra a tourist pays impeccable is important, and it is the reason i gave 4 stars. Food at the hotel was great, alot of variety, i dont understant some of the comments. Yes coffee shop opens at 11am, but buffet is open from 7 am and you can have any coffee to go, expresse, latte, cappucino. I am not much of a drinker, but at the lobby they make an amazing dirty martini. The ocean had algue yes, but hotel does not control mother nature, They were non stop cleaning, in the morning till around 3pm the ocean is great, then seeweeds arrives. Just bring a good pair of ocean shoes. What striked me how this hotel is accessible for wheelchair tourists, and the staff was very helpful with them. The kids pool well maintained, i noticed every morning the chairs were disfencted. Internet was good, on the beach try to sit near the elevate section, you will have no connection issues. Don't hesitate, just book.
