The resort is a very basic all inclusive. The good is basic: rice, potatoes, chicken, they don’t offer a grill with beef. We didn’t eat ir have dinner any day in the resort because we didn’t like the food. So, basically enjoying the all inclusive food was zero. The pools are very small, the hotel beach has nice chairs and cabins. The entertainment is very basic too. The people working there is friendly. Personally, I would never come back since it felt like a kind of all inclusive hotel but not really.

My husband and I just returned from a glorious week at the Melia Cozumel Resort. Due to Covid and other life circumstances, this was our first vacation in over 5 years. It was an excellent choice and just what we needed. The resort has a boutique like feel - small, elegant and cozy. The cleanliness is evident throughout and the staff are all incredibly wonderful. I cannot give enough credit to ALL THE STAFF working at this resort. From the moment of check in right through to check out. Every day of our stay, they all greeted us with genuine friendly smiles - from the housekeepers to the gardiners. So many wonderful people and a true reflection of how Melia Resorts manages their properties. The staff were all jovial, non stressed and so incredibly pleasant. Santiago at reception set the tone with his professionalism and courtesy. Ligia at customer service desk greeted us daily and assisted us with our a-la cart reservation planning plus answered any questions we had. Our waiter Antonio at the buffet restaurant is such a kind and gentle man. He would open the door for us, seat us with gentleness and was very attentive to any need or want we may have had. He ensured my morning coffee (which is very important to me) was just as I liked. What a very sweet and hard working man! All the servers and bartenders (too many names to mention) were all pleasant and helpful. The head executive Chef also came by to personally introduce himself, and was also seen working hard and assisting his fellow staff with serving. The animacion team Leo, Oswaldo, Ernesto, Abril and all the others truly make a difference with their energy, friendliness, kindness and inclusivity. They were also funny and pleasant to be around. The beach was very nice. Due to the wind current, there was quite a bit of seaweed the first 2 days, but it soon cleared up and was enjoyable to view, walk and swim in. The sunset views were incredibly beautiful. For anyone wanting to try something outside of the resort, we highly recommend the Lobster House (right beside the Key Lime Pie Factory). This restaurant is a short walk from the resort on the Left hand side of the road and is very much recommended. My husband had the lobster and I had the Catalina snapper. So incredibly good. Cab rides into town are $100 pesos (approx $8 US) each way. Seeing the town is also enjoyable and further adds to the Cozumel vibe. Also recommended. To all staff and management at this resort, thank you sincerely for making this trip a beautiful experience we will not soon forget.…

Dirty and infested. Manager, Edwin Gonzalez said not to expect anything less from a four-star hotel.
Whenever I check into hotel, I always check the bedding and surroundings to make sure it’s clean. After inspecting the bed, I found a long black hair and that’s the sheets and pillowcases had yellow stains. I contacted the front desk and was put through to a front desk manager, who is really combative on the phone. I requested that a hotel manager contact me. Approximately 30 minutes later, he and the manager Edwin Gonzalez arrived in the room. They asked what the issue was and told him and showed them pictures due to the fact that housekeeping was already changing the sheets and pillowcases. Edwin told me this is a four-star hotel. And what is wrong with having one hair and dirty sheets. We don’t give out brand new sheets like other hotels. This left me with the question why would a manager respond like this and really put off for the rest of the stay. After being really combative and rude, the front desk manager had an idea to move us to a so-called timeshare room which was a larger room. I ever smelled so bad and musty. They asked if I would need a humidifier to get the smell out. My partner and I got terribly bitten up in this room. On the last night, there was a swarm of insects that appeared in the room and all over the bed. The front desk person on duty at 11 PM was kind enough to change the room. When this was brought up to Management in the morning, Edwin Gonzalez appeared and said there’s nothing he can do to compensate due to the fact that I chose the replacement room. This is one hotel from hell. Here are some of the other problems. Had reservations for dinner however, they only had one chair for the two of us. Not sure why they would have a place settings and one chair. After the earlier reservations left, we were seated and then we saw them bring more chairs to for the empty spots at, the tables without chairs. No service at the beach/pool after 5 PM. The fridge with drinks in the room are a joke. Our concierge’s did ask if we’d like to change out some of the items, and it was never done. The water in the room is supplied at no charge. However, in glass bottles. Be careful don’t drop them as they break on the marble floors.…

The entire Melia team led by Sandra, Carlos and Erik go above and beyond their duties and it is greatly appreciated. A wonderful place, with very helpful and friendly staff. Restaurants were excellent ! Service was superior ! The excursions that we bought into, were not as good as we expected, in fact they were terrible ( 4 wheelers riding thru the jungle and snooba diving .)... But, to be very clear, the resort and its employees were wonderful !!!

the stay here was very good, you have access to a beautiful beach, you have breakfast lunch and dinner buffet included in the all inclusive, there are only two restaurants on the resort but both had very good selections. the service here was excellent I have absolutely no complaints. there are two pools, one is adults only and that one has a pool bar that’s open from 11-6 but the pool also closes with it. the family pool is 24/7. they provide beach chairs, tables and a few hammocks on the beach however there is an upgraded pass here called “level” so you wouldn’t be able to use some (very few) of the amenities it offers. the activities provided are fun, such as archery, batting cage, paintball, dancing, stretching, and every night they had a show at 9pm for everyone to enjoy. they have a gym but very small and with the bare minimum, the gym gets a 2/10 rating, room service and spa are not included and you’d have to pay for that additionally. they have a snack bar that’s open from 11-3. the resort is a decent size, id rate the resort a solid 4.3 out of 5. but no complaints, maybe add a jacuzzi. …

What an amazing staff! They make the Melia Cozumel truly special. Incredibly kind they do everything to make your trip wonderful. Beach is beautiful, swimming excellent and rooms with ocean view are a treat. The Fish House food where everything is prepared to order was delicious. The buffet dinner as you might expect was not quite as good. Buffet breakfast with lots of variety was excellent. We definitely look forward to returning!
