The property is entirely secure and private. The villas each have 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths located around a beautiful garden and pool. Located walking distance to shops, attractions and transportation. Owners pay exceptional attention to detail and are quick to respond to any sort of request.
My wife, Marla, and I just returned from another vacation in Cozumel at Casa Colonial. Marla and I LOVE staying at Casa Colonial as Bob and Sarah the owners are always upgrading and improving the property and the amenities provided to their guests. There is a new beautiful BBQ area which you can cookout or just sit, relax, and read. Marla loves feeding the turtles in the courtyard. Sarah always keeps the guests updated on any new things to do or places to visit. We would never stay any place else on Cozumel!! Already looking forward to next year's vacation at Casa Colonial.
We have been going here for 15 years, almost annually. Bob and Sara are wonderful. It is absolutely amazing to me that we took our son there when he was 3 years old. He had the best time the turtles and private pool . Back then he would feed the turtles bananas from the fruit provided on the property. He is now 15 and yearly complains that we need to go back. We do go back once every two years. Come to think of it, it has been two years. The most incredible thing about Bob and Sara is that they have allowed us to bring our Service Dog there for so long. My wife is Type I diabetic and we contacted them in 2005 and asked if they would allow us to bring her. They welcomed us with open arms. JoJo is now 17 years old, so she no longer travels but this was the FIRST and ONLY place on the Island that would allow us to bring JoJo. I can not express our love for this property. Bob and Sara are truly eager to provide the best service allowable. WE can not express how grateful we are that have allowed us to bring JoJo as 99.9% of hotel properties and private rentals simply do not allow this on the island. Now keep in mind that we have been staying here FAR before emotional support animals. There is a massive difference from a highly trained service K9 and an emotional support animal. We simply can not express the love we feel for Bob and Sara for allowing us to come there as we honeymooned on the island in 2001.We tried MANY , MANY times to bring the K9 with us to other places way back then but they wouldn't allow it; however, Bob and Sara did. So thank you Bob and Sara for many wonderful vacations at your place. Our son will never for them. On a more generic note. The Pool is absolutely stellar, always very well maintained. The authentic feel of the property is truly appreciated, even down to the fountain and cenote well. We used the Rinse tank daily as divers. Maria would babysit our son while we dove or her daughter would. You will need a rental vehicle while staying here but just go with ISIS and all is well. After all these years, I simply can NOT express the gratitude that I have for Bob, Sara and Bradley. Thank you…
loved this hotel ! staff is very friendly. Rooms are beautiful . great beach and elegant property. Excellent dining and other great restaurants near by. It was a little piece of paradise. Relax, spa , dining .... super romantic !
Beautifully tasteful oasis of calm in the city. Hosts are wonderfully helpful with endless recommendations for things to do and places to buy fresh orange juice / tacos. Self-catering but with a massive 24 hr supermarket next door. 5 min walk from local Mexican restaurants in the high street. 15-20 min walk from the more touristy sea front. Free strong wifi - I made a few Skype calls with a great connection. The bar next door is a little noisy at weekend nights but I had no problem sleeping. Wonderfully peace place during the day
We, 2 couples, spent 6 nights here and absolutely loved our time here ! We had a 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen, and use of the BBQ, which was a nice perk. Bedrooms are a great size, especially the Master, with King bed and balcony...walk in closet. The 2nd bedroom is not as large, but still a good size...bathrooms are quite small but that wasn't an issue for us. Water is supplied. The pool is large and fairly deep with lots of loungers around it, shade to get under or sun if you want that. The courtyard is very nicely landscaped with a variety of trees and flowers, a water fountain and resident turtles. There are hammocks to have a snooze in if you want. We loved the Mexican look and decorating...the maid had everything spotless ! We only had her come in once or twice while we stayed as we didn't have a real need for her. WIFI worked great. The Soriana grocery store is close so we ate breakfasts in, most dinners out. You can walk to downtown from here, or just over a block or two for some restaurants as well. The area seems a little sketchy, but it really isn't...we had no problems at all and never felt unsafe even coming home in the dark after dinner. Communication with the owners and the Alex, who is from the management company were all very prompt to reply to questions. Alex helped set up a snorkeling trip with Cozumel Scuba Planet, also arrange for a taxi to take us back to the ferry. We would have no problem recommending Casa Colonial !…
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of July 2017. We loved this property. The garden was a lovely cool area when everywhere else was very warm. The apartments were well appointed. The owner and manager were quick to respond to emails with information. Though outside the main centre, it is only about 10minutes walk from the centre - we walked each time except when we arrive and left with luggage. When visiting Cozumel again - we will stay at Casa Colonial. Of note - Just give the time of your arrival and knock loudly on the door. There is a cleaner who can do your laundry, for extra cost, if you ask - but ask the manager how to ask. Also, on the website there is a page about turtles - there is a conservation project on the island but we found it hard to get the information and link in with them - apparently there is a facebook page where you can contact them directly.…
We stayed for a week and were in need of some simple relaxation and a few adventures. Casa Colonial is a well run, very comfortable and lovely place. Sam, the manager, took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. He checked in regarding our accommodations and was always able to give us recommendations of places to go and things to do on the island. He also made arrangements for us to get places which proved invaluable as I don't think we would have been able to get a taxi to pick us up at Casa Colonial on our own. Maria made sure our place was clean and organized. The pool was maintained while we were there too. Everything was great and I would highly recommend it if you are looking to go off the grid and not stay at a flashy resort.
Casa Colonial is a charming and beautiful property. The staff keeps rooms and garden in top shape. The accommodations were just perfect for our family of four. The other people we met were interesting and enjoyable to visit with. Sam is an attentive and conscientious concierge who really cares about his guests' experience. He recommended car rental, scuba shop, and restaurants and through his recommendations we were able to meet those local proprietors and enjoy their conversation.
2 families of 2 adults and 2 children each vacationed in side by side units at Casa Colonial from 12-19-15 to 1-2-16 for the holidays. We have visited Cozumel many times by cruise ship and this was our second stay on the island. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Colonial and hope to return in the future. Bob and Sarah were very easy to work with and answered all of our questions almost immediately. Sarah went out of her way to get us a Christmas tree with locally made decorations for the kids. Sarah is also a wealth of information about the island, where to go, the best restaurants, and answers to any other questions you may have. Customer satisfaction is truly their priority and greatly appreciated!! Each unit has 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a living and dining area and a small kitchen. The washer and dryer made traveling for close to 3 weeks very, very helpful. I personally wish there was a little more kitchen storage space, but that is the only thing I found missing and we managed just fine without it. The outside space was truly wonderful!! We had a huge freshwater pool with loungers and tables virtually to ourselves most of the time. An outside shower and rinse area to clean up after the beach and hangers for our wet gear. The kids loved the turtles that call this property home. They were able to feed them treats and interact with them whenever we were at the property. We grilled dinner a couple of nights on the like new BBQ grill. I would like to also say that Sam (the property manager when Sarah and Bob are away) and the housekeeper Maria are also very friendly and do their jobs well.…
