I hesitated putting up this review thinking it was me being overly picky. After speaking with others it turns out others felt the same way. This resort was selected because of the recommendations of other divers who have stayed here. Honestly I was a disappointed. The restaurant staff, with the exception of a couple of folks, were not friendly. Many of our group felt the staff acted like it was an inconvenience to assist us. There was conflicting signs and when it was brought to their attention we were brushed off. The hotel staff started off well enough. As the time passed we got less efficient attention. Again, there are a couple of staff members who polite and would do what ever the could to help us. The dive shop was spot on. Once we learned their process it went well. Kudos to them. The dive boat was something to desire. There was no safety orientation. For the amount of staff on board the service wasn't very good. They didn't have the tools or equipment to make simple repairs to their rental gear. Thanks to another diver who brought what we needed. There are other resorts that cater to divers in the area. If I return to the island I'll be looking at them.

This is a basic but very clean hotel that is devoted to scuba diving. If you are not doing that or snorkeling then you might find it limited. Note that they do not allow visitors. We had a dear friend, who could not get a room at this hotel, and who ended up staying at an adjacent hotel. They would not allow her (she is 80) past the lobby area, so we were not able to enjoy a glass of wine on our patio which had a beautiful view of the ocean. I was very disappointed about this. No one night-stands unless you love the lobby, lol! Just kidding. But I did find this policy ridiculous. We ended up spending time at her hotel which did allow visitors. The price included breakfast and lunch (basic) and 5 dives so it was a good deal. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. They offered unlimited shore diving and the entry to the water was easy. Loungers and chairs were very poor with the fabric stretched and saggy. Not comfortable. It was obvious that time spent lounging around the pool area was not a priority. Like I said, this resort is strictly for divers. And with that said, the diving was fantastic. The town...ummmm, not so much. Everything is very expensive, US prices. Get used to cruise ships. In the week we were there at least 15 docked, spewing out thousands of people willing to pay anything. One non-diving day we rented a car to explore the island--don't do it! The police are rabid about pulling tourists over and either wanting a bribe or sending you to the police station to pay a hefty fine. Both happened within the 5 hours we had the car. So just be aware and know that there are no road signs and lots and lots of scooters who have no problem passing on the right aggressively. Honestly, it would just be cheaper and easier to hire a taxi for the day. We will do this next time. This hotel is close to town, about 1 mile to a variety of restaurants, taxis are easy to snag and not too expensive and the hotel will be happy to help you order take out if you wish to have dinner in your room or in the club house area. It is quiet. Although we are avid divers, I'm not sure we would stay there again as we do like to do other things. I cannot emphasize enough that this hotel is solely for scuba divers only. We did like the lockers and hanging racks, and fresh water rinse bins. The grounds are very tidy.

Crew of the boat picked up a diver near the end of a dive. Turned out it was the wrong boat (but still scuba club). They put her back in the water after turning her air OFF. it was already ON as she had been diving for 45 minutes. She never got past the top of the ladder so it wasn’t a case of shutting it off after she was seated. The captain and crew tried to blame her, her buddy who was already in the water, and generally denied they did anything wrong. This was potentially a deadly accident. Fortunately her buddy was a DM who quickly rushed to help her and got her air back on. Absolutely unacceptable for it to have happened then even worse to deny any wrongdoing.

so obviously we like it. Very laid back, low key, and definitely not a Hilton like resort. Good dive masters and great diving. Fun to meet all the other divers. Great staff. Very clean and surprisingly comfortable rooms. We'll stay there again on our next trip to Cozumel.

The atmosphere at ScubaClub is unbelievable, I found several people that has been there like 20, 30, 60 times… there’s a reason for there… the infrastructure for the dives, quality of shore dive, food, family environment makes this place just amazing. And now I can’t wait to return at least once per year there.. just be aware that there’s not much to do for small kids, there’s no beach that they can enjoy and the pool is small.

We just left after a 4 night stay at Scuba Club Cozumel. Our family had the best time there. Sofia was amazing answering all of my questions and booking dilemmas prior to our arrival. We had a triple room, #43, and it was absolutely perfect. 1st floor, right across from the dive shop and a walk down the sidewalk to the boats. The A/C worked great and we loved sitting out on our patio chatting with other divers during the day. Our dive master was Tony and he was great! During our dives we saw sharks, turtles, eagle rays, and the elusive sea horse!!! We went on the Reef Cat and the Reef Star...both were great boats. In the afternoons, we did shore dives and had so much fun looking around the sunken docks for creatures. We highly recommend this, especially if you are a new diver as it will give you additional time under the water at a shallow depth. The breakfast and lunch was delicious and plentiful. We went to the supermarket down the street (a quick 5 minute walk) to have some snacks and extra drinks in our room for between meals and evenings. The entire staff was so nice to us, it was a truly relaxing vacation. We will definately be back. Here are some takeaways that I wanted to pass along to the next guests and remember for next time. 1) Bring a water bottle, they have water coolers all around to keep them filled. 2) They have a great tipping guideline for the hotel and it's about $28 per day/per guest. This is for the wait staff/housekeeping/dive crew/dive master. It's paid in cash when you check out. 3) The pillows are a little bit small, so ask for an extra one 4) If you don't have a room on the first floor, bring a lock for a locker to leave your dive gear between dives. 5) Bring a charging station for your cameras, phones, etc. There aren't a lot of plugs in the room. 6) There is a $6 park fee per diver/per day...paid in cash

Scuba Club Cozumel is our favorite resort to stay in Cozumel. My wife and I have been staying at SCC for over 6 years. We tried other places, but for diving and a friendly staff, excellent facilities and close to town, SCC can't be beat!! The staff treat you like family and always do what they can to make you stay wonderful. The dive boat crews and guides are always on their best. From the moment you arrive to the moment you grab a taxi to the airport, Scuba Club Cozumel does an amazing job! Thank you SCC!!

Amazing place, great for experienced divers that want to get the best of their diving experience. The divemasters are amazing, the boat crew experienced and the organization runs pretty smoothly. Highly recommend for 4-5 days dives. The hotel rooms have all the necessary stuff for divers ( outside space, hangers etc). Everyone one here is friendly and helpful and many of the guests are regular that have been coming back for years! A testament to the quality of the place!

My friends and I always stay. The hotel is very clean and simple and built for scuba divers. The rooms are lovely. The food is great and we get breakfast and lunch included. Right now they are only doing take out dinners. My friends dove with Géiser and liked him as a dive master.

The ride from hotel to hotel was short and easy. Shuttle whisked us away quickly. Property is beautiful in every way! The staff is amazing! We were celebrating Jasons 55th birthday and Miriam at the front desk placed us in room 55! The view was to die for! The sunrises and sunsets are simply incredible. Vanessa in sales was the best. We called and emailed her for a few months while we made decisions. She was so responsive and helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. We were so excited to scuba dive in this gorgeous blue ocean. We had unlimited shore dives and took advantage of this benefit! The reefs on the shore of this incredible location were incredible. The dive shop is on the property. So sign out your tanks and any equipment you need and go diving! Its really that easy at this beautiful place! We went boat diving for 5 days. The dive master Tony was such a great dive master. His crew on the boat were so helpful and sweet and knowledgeable! I even needed mouth piece changed on regulator and they changed it on the boat and never missed a beat. The dive sites were amazing! Any underwater animal that could be seen...we saw! The food was great, the people were great, the accomodations were great! Met many people that return to this resort annually. We will be joining this as well. Cant wait to return! Super Grateful!!! We will be returning to this beautiful resort!!!
